According to Volvo's advertising material all their emergency services spec vehicles include uprated brakes, shock absorbers, antiroll bars, suspension and a larger fuel tank in addition to improved electrics.

Less horses than requested but as an owner of an Octavia vRS estate I would definitely say give one a test drive before discounting. I've got the older model, the new version is up to 220bhp. Lots of toys, decent reliability and a big chunk of change from £30k"We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -

V70 T5's had extra bhp. Not sure if they turned the 3.0's up though but still pretty nippy.
I didn't mention the M5 cos it looks gross.
I like fast, but plain looking and a 550i would be just that0 -

There is a 260bhp, 3.2 ltr V6 version but can't find any for sale. I have the saloon and it's an ace fully loaded motor :APLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

All far too sensible suggestions. What you really want is this:
321bhp
0-60 6.6s
162mph
£27k
'Interesting' depreciation...
