    Morning all
Can't believe how fast this year is going
19 Friday's till Christmas you say Angela Wow that makes it seem really close!!!!
Last year I used the Christmassy bags for life to put presents in as you say gift bags are just so expensive. Works well especially if you are grouping a set of family pressies together or doing hamper type gifts.

Have a text from miss hoodie she's safe and sound in France - thou she was the first to be sick on the coach - they hadn't even got out of town - weird thing she doesn't have travel sickness - she had got herself in a pitch this morning about how she was sitting by on the coach.

Productive afternoon - had gutted the junk pile by the back door - it was a mess had 4 bags for charity, 8 bags stuff for car boot, found a box of stuff that was from last Easter when I had bedroom done. All sorted now.

A nice hot shower, then a rest - tomorrow be sort dining room again! Then get some more stuff to the garage. Hoping the weather holds might feel brave enough to tackle car boot Sunday.
Find Father's Day present, he's had clothes off me and miss hoodie so it's just the token present to open.

I've decided my next mad idea - going to make some curtains for mine and miss hoodies bedroom, picked up camper van material for miss h and me I've having cupcakes - but I don't know how to work the sewing machine..... Xx

  • Hi I joined just so I can come in :) I love planning well in advance for presents etc and I want to make Xmas special this year as its tiny girls first I save with park for vouchers but I sell things on eBay and do surveys etc because I can't get presents for my little man from normal shops he has severe autism so I use sensory websites etc I'm pleased with myself as I did a clear out on eBay and used the money to buy him a bead frame for Christmas they have one at his special needs school and he loves it so I know he will flap with excitement when he sees it. I've just used my Amazon vouchers from surveys on art supply's I'm going to make canvas pictures with hand and foot prints from little man and tiny girl as gifts for people I know he's going to love helping with that might do it in the garden though as flapping with paint on his hands may leave me with a whole new form of art work !!!
I love making Xmas cards so next on my list is collecting supply's for that :)

    Nice to meet you all

Mum2one glad miss hoodie got off safe and sound. Apart from the sickness
About time you had a clear out only joking. I haven't got a clue

Welcome Mrs Smith. Love the idea of the hands art. I started making my cards a couple of weeks ago.

Still no news of Angela, and can't remember last time we heard from Rufus dog.

Exciting news here DS came to us last week and said I've finished university and I need a job something I can work at. He currently doors about 30-40 hours at sainsbobs. So he had an appointment with the accountant last Friday and he has one with the bank manager tomorrow and he just told us he's opening a coffee shop.

Well of course we wanted to know all the details. He's had his eye on one since he was in college and its just come up for sale.

We asked did he need any help and he said it's something he'd like to do on his own. And if it's successful great and if it's not he'll only have himself to blame.

I'm worried about the amount involved but he said it's cheaper than his degree...

So fingers crossed...could do with some positive help everyone. So all you lovely ladies please help old and new :-)

Hi everyone, I've caught up with the posts and have been wondering what on earth I've been doing since I last was here lol, time flies.

I've just spend the last hour helping exH wrestle with DS1's bike, trying to get it into a bike box to send, I'm going to do the replies later when I've had a chance to put my feet up.

Welcome Lady Morticia, queenb1981, killielila :T

Hi MrsSmith15 - :T - after reading about your son I thought I'd mention that I understand about the flapping, my children are autistic, one is severe, both grown up now. The flapping stopped years ago and I'd forgotten about it until I read your post.

I am a bit horrified by the realisation it's only 19 Fridays???

Massive apologies, I completely forgot the June CHallenge, - make it an iou for July.

It has been one thing after another.

Miss Hoodies trip - although they got off ok, they had an incident across there from what I can gather 3 youths got into the premises, Miss Hoodie saw them hanging around outside the room, then next thing shouting and all hell broke lose, - the school haven't been very helpful, theyre just trying to sweep it under the carpet...

The Tunisia incident, has literally thrown the wind out of my sail, we dont stay in Sousse, we're about 1hr away, thou when we went out there, we did a trip to the reps cabaret show, this was near SOusse, the best way I can describe the venue, is a cheap wedding reception room in the middle of no-where, the coaches all had police escorts to get them back onto the dual carriage-way.

We were in a bit of a panic at 1st, as were due out August, but we were outside of the inital change over period, Miss Hoodie has begged me to not cancel it, (as long as it is safe...) so had a look at the weekend and our flights have been cancelled, - went to Travel agent, according to them were still going.... wasn't my normal lady who I deal with, bless her heart - she spent most of the day sorting it, - they have cancelled the holiday but not informed anyone - but good news - were going 2 days later as a new booking and save over £400.

    ---
Been plodding along we've done 2 car boots and a school fete, - so have been keeping busy, as the de-cluttering it came to a standstill....

We had Nanny Hoodies 70th bday last week, very mse as its grandad hoodies bday in July as well, got them some garden furniture between them, love seat from me and bench from Miss Hoodie.

I have taught myself 2 croschet stitches, and have done my first project, a hairband - that led onto some phone case / phone sock, really pleased.

Less than 2 weeks at school, then Miss Hoodie has 7 weeks off...

    xx

We've had a shock tonight, the tour companies have now pulled out of Tunisia till October - needless to say what state Miss Hoodie is in, I feel selfish, as when she went through all the hassle with her dad and his family (now sorted), and grandad Hoodie with the cancer, she focuses all her feelings/attention onto objects / events - the latest thing was returning to Tunisia - when she had councelling, we were told that she portrays everything on to one thing....x

Oh dear, that's sad- I heard the news on R2 saying that the Foreign Office was now advising only essential trips to Tunisia as there must be some new threat. All the travel companies were to get their tourists out.

Obviously at this late stage it is going to be a struggle for you to find somewhere abroad. ( and at a suitable price.)
How are you situated for places to go as days out or weekends away? Maybe Miss Hoddie could be looking on line for cheap deals, places to go, eat out.
Possibly a silly suggestion- I think I saw days out to Dublin for £5 on Stena line to Ireland.Yes, I know you have to get to Holyhead!! I'm just trying to think outside the box
Not a lot to say, except hang in there........

Hi all, sorry I didn't return to do the replies after that last time I posted, been unexpectedly busy with extra vsits from DS1 between DS2's visits (who is here now) and been in the middle of a big outside job (unfinished), and had days out, relatives etc.

Mum2one, I expect most of us here would have thought about you and the family when Tunisia was mentioned as you just returned and wanted to go again.

    Poor Miss Hoodie.

That sounds like a dodgy time on the school trip.

Those are nice presents for your parents.

    How are you doing mum2one?

You didn't forget the June challenge, you gave it to us early sometime in May I think.

Well done on your crocheting progress and selling stalls.

    How is everyone else?
