Sometimes I think people are too hard on themselves with their debt free dates. If it would make the journey a bit more pleasant and is not costing you anything in interest, I don't think it would do you any harm to put the date back a little. That is not advice for anyone of course, but you are obviously well disciplined and not about to fall back in to debt so do what you feel would be good for you. X0

New week, worky week, schooly week.
Hope it's been a good, or copable Monday, with son less ache-y and sense of achievement bedded in, dd2 malleable, or at least civil.
When work colleagues ask 'How was half-term?' and judi says
' that it has been so much fun that not a lot has actually got done except have fun!!!'
That was the best, most fruitful, happily slack+running about way to spend it
...and très mse, so even better.
judi, the right sort of huge amount was done.:D

Thanks Moneywhizz - I am still thinking this one through at the moment - one bit of me thinks slowing down a little once the bulk of the debt is on 0% is a good plan - but there is a part of me that just wants it gone as fast as possible its a bit of a dilemma for me!0 -
Yes Ampersand school for DD3 but not for DS he has a teacher training day and he slept in until 1pm!!! I think camp tired him out!!!! :rotfl:
Work was really hard going today - the first time since I started this job that I have felt overwhelmed but didn't sleep again last night to that was probably a contributing factor!!! I even brought work home with me! I have a short week of productive work as I am on a training day Wed, then interviewing all day Thurs then off on Friday (I have bits of leave that I need to use before the end of March) but really I have full weeks worth of work to do in the 2 days!!! Interesting a lot of people seem to be very concerned that I am ok and not being put upon by my boss - I don't think people last long in my job! (they clearly don't know me yet!)
And yes when people asked how my week off went - I said just that 'lots of fun but not much done!!!'
The Reverend mother was DS minding today and must be noticing my stress levels so has done some house work for me - she is amazing!!!:A0 -
Hi Judi24, i sympathise and empathise with the teatime situation! My frustration is with my youngest who wont eat sunday dinners as "she doesn't like them" - only to find that she eats them in a carvery when she's with the boyf!! ... So i cook a lovely meal (debatable but i'm biased) for her and its left ... so frustrating from a parenting point of view but more food in freezer with left overs :rotfl:
I dont really offer choice any more - they get what they are given :rotfl: and if they dont like it they can make their own
take care x0 -
Totally forgot to report NSD for Friday, Sunday and today so add those to my 5 for Feb making 8!!! Pretty rubbish I know!!!! But better than none!0

judi, who set you up as judge of nsd totals? ...especially your own?
8 nsds out of 23 with a family of four!!!!!...that's phenomenal already!
Calm down and ease up young lady - it's sleep and pink word and purple word you stock up on now.
No mse, no more putah at midnight. NONE.
Just hwb cuddly, book, thermos, bed, radio, combination of the aforementioned. NO SCREENS.
When the Rev. maman is concerned, so are we.

Thank you Ampersand - another no sleep night but a better day in work - my boss is clearly having some problems at home and didn't come into work today (although still managed to make her presence felt by phone and email!!) Report I was worried about and worked on at home seemed to suffice - I seem to be uncovering problems that my predecessors clearly ignored or didn't understand so I am having to look deeper at data and information that I should need to for answers to formulate simple reports - but it feels better to be understanding the issues rather being confused by them if that makes sense - the absence of the boss meant I got 3 hrs back to actually do some work - rather than be in meetings with her which has made me feel better too. I also appointed a lovely new PA who will be great at keeping me organised I think! (Best of luck to her!)
I will be heading to bed early with a book and some herbal tea as you prescribe - I have a 2hr drive to a meeting in the morning! so an early start and long day ahead!
Pay day today - but not made the CC payments - they will have to wait until tomorrow but also another NSD to report making 9 out of 24!
trying to listen to pink and purple words tonight!
off to do my 5 for today - missed it yesterday as was out of sorts!0 -

I can guarantee that all of us are wishing you an absolute gem, judi. As you have picked her, I hope she realises her boss is that very thing too. Let her be Queen Bee barrier, as long perfected by the very best surgery receptionists.

- hope this happened. If so, double Brownie points. A lot of quiet reflection and sudden pop-up answers happen when you're in bed peacably, not merely to crash and hope for sandman. Sleep is ever-elusive, never the right sort of restorative when chased.
Don't give yourself another circular mindloop oover which way/what re: CC or overdraft.
That tax rebate came out of the blue. Son pro-actively found his PE kit. Lovely half-term. Beautiful zoo day and dd b'day. Cuddle moments with both that were more than that.
This is a very pleasant backdrop - with choices judi! - against which a naturally right-feeling course of action will be suddenly clear enough.
And if you think later, 'I wish I'd done blahblah...' - okay, matters not.
It was fine at this time, a perfect example of 'good enough is good enough.'
Plenty of time to decide differently next month, if you want: that debt will keep reducing whatever, however because this is now your total, over-riding, life-changing goal.
Also take a moment to realise, in your awareness of boss not managing or balancing her work and life, that this change in you is already putting you in a better place more often.
Practical steps to keep yourself 'safe' from her labyrinth:
-are you obliged to have your phone on for boss?
-can you have a separate em a/c just for boss which you check once daily? but no more?...and let that be clear? There may be a contretemps of sorts[the earlier the better]
Boss can [re-?]learn to be the organised example that she should be for staff.
Perhaps she didn't begin this way. judi certainly won't be taken down her path.
Sleep sweetly.
