I have made a version of the HD chicken stir fry. I say a version because I used turkey instead of chicken, I had no mushrooms and I had to throw away the beansprouts. I added a bit of left over rice and two small packets of straight to wok noodles. It was tasty and I will make it again following the recipe more closely.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order

I'm making a few HD recipes this week but the ones that I have not made before are:
Enchiladas
Plumb rice pudding
Fish stew with garlic croutons
Will let you know how they go.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

I've just bought the Ministry of Food after reading some great reviews, so am planning to give this one a try.
There are some great recipes being tried, The Hairy Dieters seems to be a firm favourite at the moment. I might have a look at any of their recipes on the internet
The meatloaf went down a treat and oh said I can definitely cook it again. There's a different version in Save With Jamie which I'll try next. The first night we had meatloaf and wedges, the next night we had pasta.
This weeks new recipe is prawn linguine (15 minute meals) except I'm using spaghetti as that's what I have in.[STRIKE]CC1: £354.35 / £354.35[/STRIKE]

I like the sound of prawn linguine merzal. It is not a dish that I have made but I have had it when we have eaten out.
I made the Hairy Dieters enchiladas tonight. I cannot understand why I have not made them before. Very tasty and very filling. Loved the salsa and half fat creme fraiche on the top of them. I had everything in so for once did not make any substitutions.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Yesterday I made the Hairy Dieters rice pudding with plums. You make it in a saucepan as opposed to the way that I usually make it in the oven. I know it is a diet recipe but it was not very sweet at all so I added more sugar. This was a very quick way to make rice pudding without having the oven on.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order

Hi all,
Last week I made these monster cookie bars topped with M&Ms. The recipe is from an American cooking blog I follow (Mel's Kitchen Cafe). It's the first recipe I've made from there and I would definitely make them again. They are gluten free if you use gluten free oats.
I didn't have quick oats only regular rolled, so I whizzed mine in the processor. When I added them to the mix it became very thick and was hard to spread out in the tin. I posted on the blog to ask if this was normal and Mel replied that I may have whizzed my oats too much, so I will consider for next time. However they baked just fine!
They were delicious and well received by a group of 7 and 8 year olds after a swimming lesson as they are filling. This included one individual who is gluten intolerant. Link is below

I also made Delia's carrot and coriander soup from her Soup book, it's an old recipe I've not made for a whole and was as good as I remember it although I always find little bits of coriander seed not as small as I'd like remain after blending with a stick blender. Any ideas anyone? I suppose I should try a regular blender.
Happy cooking all

Just looked at the page for those Monster cookies.....they look amazing! Might have to try that (minus the peanut butter) :TEvery act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️

Herby celery casserole, from Veggistan. I don't like it, but I've got 3 more portions to eat.
I don't generally like savoury things with apples in, but I thought I'd give a try. Turns out I haven't changed my mind. Using those apples in a crumble would have made me much happier.Saving for deposit: Finished! :j
House buying: Finished!
Next task: Lots and lots of DIY0 -
I can heartily recommend the Hairy Dieters fish stew. Have not meal planned for this week yet so do not know what my new recipe for this week will be. OH did the shop whilst I was at work and before I wrote a meal plan. Looking at what he purchased it will be something with chicken.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order

Will definitely be joining this but will have to be next month as I'm currently in the process of moving house... well flat actually and everything is pretty much packed up.
I'm always hunting out less well known cookbooks so does anyone have any recommendations? My current favourite is David Leibovitz's "My Paris Kitchen" and last purchase was "Flour + Water: Pasta" by Thomas Mcnaughton (not managed to cook from it yet!)
