I would like to join as I think it will help focus my mind and also give me the motivation I need to achieve my goals and hopefully help others do the same.
1. Pay £5k off my debt - Still on target for this
2. Put £6k into my share save at work - Still on target for this
3. Get at least a 3% payrise at work - Received 2.4% in April with another due next month, fingers crossed
4. Read at least two books (I can't remember the last time I read a book, bad I know) - Read my first book in years on holiday last week
5. Go to the gym 3-4 times a week with the ultimate aim of being able to bench press 100kg - Has been a bit hit and miss, won't be reaching 100kg though
6. Find myself a gf (this will be the most difficult of the lot I think, I just don't seem compatible with any!) - Erm no!
My first update on this thread for the year, it hasn't acted as the motivator that I had hoped but has still been in the back of my mind. As mine are more longer term targets I will probably be back at the end of the year to update on my progress.LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

I was looking back at my pledges and thoroughly I would update.
1. To pay of the remainder of my debts and become debt free. im still working on this one after a slip.
2. To lose one and a half stone. I lost a stone after Christmas but put some back on after a couple of bouts of illness. Working on it again.
3. To spend more time on myself, completing craft activities, etc. I need to work on this.
4. To save a £1000 emergency fund. A small amount saved.
5. To make sure I spend quality time with my little boy.we have spent much more quality time together. Les worrying about work.
6. To get this house sorted once and for all. Still working on this and a long way to go but I'm starting to see the difference.
7. To make my p/t business more profitable.I need to get back to focussing on this more to help me escape the paid day job.
I really need to start focussing on a few areas but feel happy with the progress I'm making, albeit slowly.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Hi Everyone - how are you all? How are you progressing towards your goals?
I've been enjoying my little NYD - I can't believe it's been nearly 7 months since she was born. I can't imagine my life without her now - clich!d I know, but true.
So where am I with my goals? Well I have been hampered slightly with my financial goals as I have been on maternity pay but we are doing ok. I have extended my maternity leave for a further 3 months and we have had to borrow £5K to do this. I am not concerned about this as I know where it is going (previously I had no idea) and I can't get this time back. I will always look back on it with joy and have no regrets, so for me, it's worth it. It's knocked our DFD back 6 months or so but again, I feel it was a well thought out decision and one which we fully understood (rather than not budgeting etc).
It's very apparent how small our house is now for our additional member of the family and it does get me down. Our priority is to pay the debt off, and then save for a deposit (doing it the right way this time). We will not look at houses until we have done the above.
We are still careful though and everything that we buy is budgeted for - no more carelessly spending on credit cards with no way or budget to pay back.
Hope you are well.

Hi NYD,
Glad things are going so well with little NYD. I think borrowing to extend your leave is okay as long as you have a realistic plan to pay it back. As you say, you'll never get this time back.
Well, we've moved back to Scotland and I've started a new job so gaols may need to be tweaked.
1) Stay debt free Done
2) Save 12k towards house deposit Currently £6.3k unlikely to make this target unless Mr FF gets a very well paid job soon but we're still better than we were last year.
3) Start investing for long term Have a plan to start dripfeeding into ISA once were settled
4) Run 5k in 30 minutes Best time 34 mins
5) Run 10k without stopping Longest distance 8k
6) Run in an organised race No progress
7) Keep on top of housework OK
8) Declutter the house Will de done as we unpack
9) Be more organised about life in general Work in progress :rotfl:
10) Be more sociable Meeting friends in the pub tonight
11) Look more put together OK
12) Finish my course module Two assignments down
13) Start my next course module Need to finish 12
14) Get my course log up to date Done
