I know that I am very late to this but I was wondering if I could join please, I have read this thread and I am feeling really motivated and I have got lots of goals this year.
Personal Development
I have had a lot issues recently with maintaining a good level of mental health – I want to increase my confidence, skills in assertiveness and basically not feel as though I am always in the way!
Not too much progress on this but I explained my needs a couple of times today and I was listened to which was lovely!
Become more aware of my own needs – I tend to put others first at the expense and sometimes total destruction of myself.
See above about explaining my needs
Start and make progress on the level 3 Management Diploma (I need to start this soon as the funding is in place).
Slight delay for this as I have just emailed the tutor asking to delay the induction – I was booked in for Monday but I have got two Waking Night shifts on Monday and Tuesday so it will be to much.
Once I am debt free and in a good place mentally enrol on a care home management course
I have ordered the prospectus, rather excitingly the provider I am thinking of going gives you a free pen and an organisation bag. It’s that saying isn’t it small things please small minds!
Financial
Finally become debt free!
I made my final payment to StepChange and to Family and Friends on the 1st April, I have got confirmation from all of the creditors that I now longer owe them. Just waiting for the payment to be sent out and official confirmation.
Find ways of building up my credit file again
Not much progress on this but I have checked my Noodle credit report and I am up to 2/5 for my credit rating!
Work out budget for once I am debt free for savings and giving myself a little more wiggle room to have a life and a bit of fun!
Done – I have got budgets for food, leisure and professional development!
Open ISA and start saving at least £150.00 a month from August (I will add more if I do some overtime / get on call payment)
ISA has been opened!
Open a Savings Account to act as an Emergency Fund and pay in £50 a month from August until I have got £500 (once I have achieved £500 I will add the £50 to the ISA)
I have opened the Savings Account, I am wondering to rename it when the poo hits the fan fund!
Open some savings accounts to act as little pots of money so I know exactly how much I to spend and set up standing orders to them from current account.
Savings Account all opened each balance currently stands at £1.00 each
Sell all unwanted books and CD’s
Sold about £100 worth so far – I will look up the amount and update here!
Buying Things
Buy new bed - this is a big one for me, the mattress is incredibly lumpy and I think is a contributing factor in the flare up of my back pain
I have looked up some beds but I need to go to a show room really – I have found one that is about a 40 minute bus ride away!
Buy some non - essential items that I have had my eye on for a while in cash (I am after a Kindle and an iPod touch)
I am looking on Quidco and other sites for discounts – I have got a thing about ordering them Amazon and Apple respectively, I know this is not very MSE but I am trying to make as MSE as possible.
Health
Lose weight, I am not comfortable sharing how much I need to lose but it is fair to say I have got a long way to go.
I have ordered some SW books and new scales and started thinking of ways to eat well while doing some very odd (and not body clock friendly shifts)
Take steps to make my lifestyle healthier
Much the same as above and I am finding ways of drinking more water.
Increase activity
I am going to get a pedometer so I can get an accurate record of my steps and then think of a development plan.
Look in to what it takes to complete a marathon (no way near being able to do this now but I like to plan stuff)
No development on this yet!
I hope to get to know you all soon
