  • CD17 today and I'm getting some cramping and pain, I thought I had already ovulated, my cycle was short last month so put OV on CD13. So I no idea what this is about!

No way should you feel guilty Jo, I'm trying hard not to feel guilty as well I'm 29, everyone around me at the moment are pregnant or just had babies especially in OH family so everyone is looking at us and saying we should be pregnant as well! It just wasn't right for us until now.

I'm not so sure that temping takes the 'mystery' out, unless you count the fact that if I wake up one morning and my temperature is 6.8 instead of 6.3 I know I'll be ov that day.... I think regular people are more analogue than that though.... I just seem to be a bit like a switch!

*waves* Newbie to the thread over here, registered under a new username as I do not want my mother to find out plans for her first grandchild are underway via MSE! :shhh:

Today I saw my Dr to get a folic acid prescription in preparation for starting TTC in the next few weeks. So I guess we are officially (about to start) TTC.

    Bit of background:

OH & I are both 29. Got married summer 2014 after almost 11 years together. I'm Type 1 diabetic so have always know that before TTC I need to have my blood sugars absolutely in control. Saw consultant at my annual hospital review in November and told him the plan and he was happy everything was ok. Was advised to start taking 5mg folic acid a month before TTC, hence today's appt as its not available over the counter.

In 2007 (aged 22) I was referred to the hospital for an ultrasound for possible PCOS as I had a very irregular cycle (I went to the Drs when it got to 10 weeks since my last period) and mild acne. Scan definitely showed cysts but I'm pretty sure I was told I probably had polycystic ovaries but not the Syndrome - can't ever remember receiving a report and waiting for my Dr to get my medical file out and send it to me, as it wasn't on her electronic system today. Was put on the pill so I would have regular bleeds and have been on various ones ever since.

Plan is to stop taking pill at the end of this packet and then see what happens! Dr said today that they wouldn't do any other investigation/medication for potential PCOS unless we tried for 12 months without a BFP.

Need to start researching all about cycles and temping I think to maximise our chances.

Very excited but also pretty nervous thinking about 'what if it doesn't happen easily?' and how difficult it's going to be keeping my blood sugar perfect for the foreseeable future!

Oh, and I also run a business with one other person and have no idea how I will decide what to do about the company/working once we *fingers crossed* have a baby.

    Morning everyone,

I've decided that I'm going to take a break from the board and lurk for a while. OH is worried about finances at the moment (which have recently changed a lot) so thinks we should wait to TTC #2. I'm not overly agreeable with this but can see his point. This means we haven't dtd at the right time this month and may just NTNP for a while.

Could I be taken off the board pls Kellykins? Thanks.

Good luck to all of you and I will be checking the BFP board every now and then. I hope to see all your names on it :D

*waves* bye blueneh, I hope you get everything sorted and we see you back here before long!

Welcome to the team ThePug - we're all totally sane and not entirely ruled by our hormones.... HONEST.

I thought it was about time OH and I got down to BDing for this cycle, and yesterday evening was the only evening this week that he's not out... and it just so happens that my work made me travel 2 hours to a different county, and back again... lengthening my work day by 4 hours and exhausting me completely. Brilliant. So no BDing for us. OH will be out until the early hours of the morning tonight, so I shall be waiting until the weekend. Stupid work. Stupid everything getting in the way. Stupid stupid stupid.

  • Hi guys delurking here....

quick question I took my last noriday pill on xmas day to officially start ttc and was due on today just wondering if it should return so quickly or if it takes a while? I know everyones different but I always had a period on the pill so assumed it would carry on even though I stopped taking it.

    Thanks.
