MancMama - the way I see it is that I'll allow myself a day to wallow every now and then - then I go to bed that night, all hacked off, and wake up in the morning and the feeling isn't so bad. Weirdly, I find when I get AF one of the easiest times (not the first day, of course...) - I can relax about whether I'm doing the right thing or the wrong thing and just let myself get ready for the next bout of BDing (those legs have to get shaved sometime :rotfl: ).
Hopefully, things will not seem so bad tomorrow. But if they do, just rant away :)

big5 I know what you mean... I feel so envious when people try for 1 month and just fall, even though its not their fault it's just their time... and so unbelievably happy for people who have been through "the struggle" (I feel like I'm in a secret club after my mmc) as if anyone deserves it more than another - we all do! I think society puts so much pressure on women to conceive virtually overnight and makes us feel like a failure or less of a women if we take the scenic route...

Keekee I am definitely following your lead - today, chocolate and a wallow, tomorrow, we go again!

Thank you. Good luck everyone for the rest of the week x

Hugs Mancmama - I'm also feeling low. After losing Poppy in November, the genetic results finally came back today, and they showed she was missing part of chromosome 18 which could have caused her neural tube defect, so we've had to both have blood tests which will take another 3 months to process to assess our odds of it happening again. There's now a very real possibility that we may lose a future pregnancy too, so ttc has just become that bit more scary again. :(
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Can I join in the wallowing? CD1 :(

Had a bit cry this morning and have been out and bought cookies for some comfort eating. I bought some Ovulation tests that were on sale - Tesco own brand 7 tests for £4.50, does that sound good? I bought two packs.

Any info on what I need to be doing would be helpful i.e. when do I start? End of AF? Sorry I have tried to read on here and other websites but I can't find the basic info I want, it's all just ovulation jargon for my little brain. Please explain like I am a 3 year old :o

Oh Sexymouse, I hope the blood tests show a low future risk. It could have just been a one off genetic mutation that could have happened to anyone.

Even if there is an issue that doesn't mean that there's not still a very good chance of you having a healthy baby.

Try not to worry too much. There's always a risk in every pregnancy.

We're scared at the moment as we're getting closer to scan time. Especially since we haven't even had the booking appointment letter yet. We may need to have a private scan at this rate.

I know exactly what you mean mancmama that's how we felt every cycle when AF came.

It's hard when you've gone through losing a baby, you want to conceive as soon as possible and it feels like you have a right to as well. You've just been through hell surely life should give you a break.

It's also natural to feel some resentment when other people seem to be having it easy, there's nothing wrong with feeling like that it's just what you do, especially when you've gone through tough times.

But you're right that everyone has a time that's right for them and it'll happen.

We must have conceived the cycle immediately after the date when our anencephaly baby would have been born, which seems very fitting. But it felt like a bloody long wait!

It's so so hard isn't it. I spend at least a week every month absolutely depressed and constantly on the verge of tears. I actually burst into tears at work last month when a friend told me about a friend of hers was 'knocked up' from a one night stand. It's SO unfair!

Sexymouse it sounds like you're getting quite good and thorough care. You must be scared to learn any potential bad news but remember you have a healthy, beautiful little boy already! Which means you know you are capable of carrying a perfectly healthy baby.

Sorry for CD1 Rachy. With your opks it depends on your usual cycle length. I have an average 30 day cycle and start testing on day 10/11. Usually ov around day 15/16.

Hi, look at the sperm meet egg plan. In its simplest form it's basically start testing from day 8 (or 10, can't remember) and dtd the every other day until you get a positive. When you get a positive, dtd 3 days in a row, skip a day and then once more. Then test 14 days after ovulation. It's a bit intense but it seemed to work for us and gave me an idea of when to start testing x
