Welcome to all the newbies, you're in good hands here.
Jojo considering you only came off the pill in Oct, that sounds quite regular so I wouldn't worry too much. I came off Cerazette in June, 1st period 8 weeks later. Since then cycles have been 41 days, 26, 25, 46, 25. Needless to say, I got myself I got myself unnecessarily excited in the longer cycles :mad:0 -
Guys - some good and bad news I suppose!
Turns out I have hypothyroidism, so underactive thyroid. Whilst not directly causing lack of pregnancy it explains why my cycles are all over the place! So the good news is I have a diagnosis and I have medication so fingers crossed things will become a lot more regular and normal now
The bad news is I'm now on tablets for life!! Which is a bit weird to get my head around at 27. But hey, at least it means I've caught it early before symptoms get worse. It also has big implications for pregnancy if not caught early e.g. low birthweights, anemia etc.
So all in all I see it as a positive - I have a diagnosis and can move on. Plus, free prescriptions for life - got to love the NHS!
Apparently it affects 1 in 50 women at some point in their lives though, so keep an eye out and definitely consider getting bloods done if it's been a while for regular cycles. I had mine done at 7/8 months after the pill and really glad I did xxOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013

Cats glad you have a diagnosis & started meds. I have hypothyroidism too, was diagnosed about 15 years ago. Tbh, once on meds (& the right dosage!!), it doesn't impact on me too much. It is kinda hard to get your head around the "medication for life idea" at first, but 1-2 tablets daily (I take mine at night) isn't too much of a pain, & you get used to it surprisingly quickly. Hopefully your cycles will settle down.0

Thanks angel. Mine are morning tablets so i'm treating it just like i used to with the pill. Still weird though!
Frustrating that your cycles aren't better even with treatment thoughOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013

Hi all,
Been a while since I have last been on here, hope you don't mind. AF arrived last night and although it means I'm not pregnant, it's the first proper one since I came off the pill end of September/beginning of October. I had odd spotting for a day but that was about it. I am glad because I had been panicking that my body wouldn't start back up after being on the pill for so long and I wouldn't be able to ovulate (sorry if that's naieve).House purchased November 2013

Hello aloo, welcome to new people.
Glad that you've had a result Cats as you say it's good to know if somethings not right, as then you can do something about it!
We've had a funny month. Pretty sure the last cycle ended with an early miscarriage. But then around CD10 she had a little bit of spotting which hasn't happened before mid cycle, only the once though and that was it.
We had a scare and end up spending Saturday in out of hours and A&E as she started coughing up blood on the Friday night. She had no other symptoms, hadn't been coughing beforehand and no temperature. They did a blood test which ruled out anything serious, so was probably just an infection. She's fine now. But was scary at the time!
Glow was predicting OV to be in the next few days CD20. However shes convinced that it's already happened, around CD13 which would be much earlier than it has been so far. However she had cramping and had a huge amount of EWCM on that day, smaller amounts leading up to that day and no CM since.
Lucky we started BDing early, although th spotting and other health concerns did mess up a few days. Hopefully we caught it if it did happen early.
Still treating it as if it's yet to come just in case.
We're back to our health eating menu now after Christmas. Although since our first BFP came after our honeymoon when we'd just been eating whatever we wanted from the hotel buffet, I'm not sure how much the healthy eating attempts are helping!Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

hey Freddie - what a confusing month! but glad she's ok!
sounds like maybe she did have an early OV - more in line with a typical cycle maybe? fingers crossed you caught it if so!
hope everyone else is well and welcome to newbies xxOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013

cats I'm pleased you have a diagnosis and hoping that the medication regulates your cycle for you.

Freddie that sounds so scary, glad to hear your OH is feeling OK now.
Rachel at least now you can start tracking your cycles, will hopefully give you a better idea of when you usually ov.
AFM, in the fertile period again, BDing as much as possible.0 -
Hey all. Checking in again as this thread is so much nicer when there's plenty of chat. Decided for my own benefit as much as other peoples' to look back and work out exactly where I am with all this!
So, not counting the 3 weeks after stopping the pill, I am currently in my 6th cycle. Feels weird as it's been 9 months but that's what long cycles do to you! 32 days, 36, 39, 42 then the crazy 73 then now on CD24 of this one.
Ov was around day 28 in the 39/42 ones (when I'd started using OPKs) so I'm hoping this one goes back to a bit more normal and does the same. Temp charting this cycle too, since day 18, so hoping that gives me some info too
Been diagnosed hypothyroid which now makes sense as my BBT reading are very low - in the 35 degree regions - but that doesn't seem to be problematic, more just an indicator of underactive thyroid. On my meds now though so fingers crossed we see an improvement
Trying to BD every couple of days regardless though which is tiring!Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
