Hi everyone, just checking in as it's been a while. Think I'm on CD18 after my weird little AF over Christmas. No +ve on OPK yet which doesn't surprise me as it's been around CD27 even in a "normal" cycle but am testing anyway.

have also started temping at the request of my acupunturist. does anyone have any tips for making it super easy in the mornings? i just wake my OH up!

lots of baby dust for 2016 xx

    Hello everyone.

I'm new to the forum so hope I'm posting in the right place. I am 30 years old and decided to try for our first child. (Not sure of all the lingo etc.. I'm slowly picking up through reading through some of your posts).

I only had my mirena coil out end of December. Slight bleed for one day but no full blown AF (?? Hope I've used the right term there!) yet. I've read some info on Internet saying for some people on mirena it took months for periods to come back!! Ooo I hope this isn't the case for me! The nurse just told me to see how I get on and if I don't get a period just to keep taking a pregnancy test just incase. Anyone come off the mirena have any advice??? I feel really emotional at the minute but think that may be the hormones going back to normal! I didn't have periods for two years why my mirena was in (just off month slight spotting) so I have no idea where my cycle is up to

    Xxx

Hi Southoftheriver and Apple. The first page of this thread has a glossary of the terms we use but just ask if you're stuck on something. :D

Apple just give your body time to adjust and start recording your cycles to see how long they are and when they start to become more consistent. I don't know if there's still a NTNP thread anymore but some people on there might have recently come off birth control.

Cats I don't know if there's an easy way to temp as I probably wake my OH but most days he's awake before me so it's not too bad. I jus have my themometer on my bedside table and use it without moving as much as possible. Then after the beeps, which I try to muffle by shoving it under my pillow, I use the light of my phone to read the figure and then quickly type the number into my Fertility Friend app which logs the time automatically. Then I go back to sleep. Some people set an alarm to temp at the same time each day or even temp vaginally for more accurate figures but that's all a bit much for me.

I have VIP membeship with FF which analyses my temps and CBFM readings to pinpoint my likely fertile days and ovulation.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

I know everyone will be different but I found my periods started again properly really quickly after having my mirena removed. I had light spotting for a couple of days after it was taken out and then a very light period about 3 weeks after that. Since then I've had a reasonably regular 24-28 day cycle.

Arghhh AS0S have some lovely maternity things in the sale. Must stop obsessing/looking. Yes it's a bargain but i feel a bit like it's tempting fate to buy anything.

    Thank you for everyone.

I am just trying not to obsess or think about it too much at the moment. I hope you all get your bfp soon and will be joining me on the less than 12 weeks thread.
  • So i'm currently CD 19 and nothing on my OPK's. Which is as I suspected because last month my cycle was 35 days, so will see what happens this month. Am going to wait until next month to start trying but by then will have 4-5 months worth of AF hopefully which should make things easier. Still haven't quite figured out the best time of day for me to test. I know you're advised between 10:00am-14:00pm but reading around some people find later works for them.

Thanks cats! I just did one before I read this and it was actually positive! I know it's not a BFP but after being on the pill for >10 years I'm just happy my body seems to know what to do! Am not trying for this cycle but it explains why I thought I was 7 days late last month as my cycle is around 34 days now.

Bring on next month when we actually start trying...

Please can I be added? I'm 34, been TTC since November, so early days, taking Pregnacare conception vitamin supplements and using Clear Blue ovulation tests. For Nov and Dec everything was normal, 21 day cycle, 2-3 'high' fertility days before reaching a 'peak', and then this month...nothing :(

I only came off the pill (cerazette) at the end of October so it's probably all fine. Would be nice to chat to some of you about all this stuff :)
