at the moment i am in the process of decluttering my parents house following Mum's death - today i have spent 4 hours clearing her wardrobes (for someone who never wore skirts - she had more than her fair share!) I have taken 5 weeley bin bags to church for an up and coming jumble sale, I have 3 bags for the clothing recycling in the boot of my car! She had a large catering size stainless steel cooking pot (never used) that is in the church kitchen. i also have several bags of clothes, new with tags, for the Christmas gift sale that i am having to store at home. Dad has also given me a large brand new wok as he will never use it - and mine is getting to the end of its life.
however, i did find a brooch dad had commissioned for her in the pocket of one of her 'posh' jackets and was able to reunite him with it (just to show you should go through pockets when sorting clothes).
There are a couple of carloads of stuff that he has sorted and wants me to go through and see what can go where and i will bring them here to sort in time, but could only fit so much in my car.
At the moment i seem to be re-cluttering!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
So sorry for your loss sillyvixen. It's good that you're there to help your dad. Hugs to you both.S.P.C. 9 2016 No. 062 Banked £337.50
