It's really encouraging to see everyone's progress. I spent an hour a day of the last week of my holiday up in the loft. I made a note of the stuff I took to the charity shop/tip/recycling on my diary. I can't believe the amount of stuff we got rid of! Why did we keep empty boxes, appliances that no longer work, stained items of clothing, enough coat hangers to start a shop?!
Most of it's been sorted now. I've got some boxes of paperwork to go through and then I'll get OH to come up so that we can go through what's left and see if we can get rid of even more. I can't spend as much time up there now I'm back at work, but every little helps - I just brought down a huge bag of wool to give to my mum. I'm kidding myself if I think I'll get through it myself.
I'm looking forward to going through the Christmas decorations in December and streamlining them. I'm on a mission now...0 -

Good morning. Hope you don't mind if I join in? I have started decluttering but hope to give it much more time once the twins are back at school. It really is very motivating to read your posts.
My first batch of stuff to get rid of is a bag full of dvd's. In the past I would have saved them in the hopes of doing a car boot to make a few pounds but I know in reality that means I would be moving them from once clutter place to another. So off to the charity shop it is with them then.0 -
I'm back on wagon, after summer hols. Bagged up all youngest DD primary school uniform, one bag for school and one for charity shop. Feel quite sad is end of era. Both now at secondary school.
Put too much to mention in bin.
Have another bag of other clothes for charity shop, youngest DD has grown about 10 cm in hols.
She brought home a huge carrier bag from school on last day, can't decide what to keep and what to bin. She wants to keep everything:eek:Death comes to us all. When he came to Mort, he offered him a job. MORT by Terry Pratchett.0 -

Tidied daughters bedroom yesterday, it had to be done ,it filled me with dread every time I went in there.
Fifteen carrier bags, four plastic bottles and a energy drink can recycled. Broken pens and geometry set stuff binned. Clothes sorted out and a stack of holey tights put in bag to go to textile recycling and old bus tickets and bits and bobs of old papers from school put in paper and cardboard recycling bin. End result one bedroom transformed from tip to tidy in one day0
