Two large donation bags filled, a dozen old knickers and 5 single socks binned. I now have room to see what's in the sock drawer without digging through it - great feeling!
    Looking ahead

Terracotta pot for patio (from Dad)

I have a few items that can be dropped off at the charity shop tomorrow, if I have time. Anything else being decluttered is dependent on what I can sell, as I really could do with the cash at the moment.

Last day of my week of annual leave today. House is looking better than it was at the beginning, but there is still a lot of stuff on my list!
Laundry basket decluttered of two loads of laundry, it is going through the tumble dryer where possible as rainy day here.
I've decluttered my savings on a holiday in the sun when the kids break up for summer holidays. Exciting. Trying not to think of the flying bit, they may have to knock me out like Mr T in the A-Team :-).
I still haven't done the paper clutter piles in the kitchen, in fact have added to it with various notes I made when booking holiday. It's like when I was studying, every little household job seems more attractive than writing that essay! Someone just needs to lock me in the kitchen for a couple of hours so that I have no choice :-).

loaded the car with 2 bin liners of old clothes and a carrier bag of books and a shoe box of odds and sods for the church jumble sale - got in car and the battery was dead - realized church jumble did not get to the last jumble sale as battery was dead and my parents battery charger was with them in Cornwall!! popped bonnet and noticed that one battery terminal was completely obscured by a dome of dried, cristalised battery acid - eventually got new battery sorted and jumble to church - not counted but over 50 items out today!!
i also intended to do a tip run of bits and bobs in the spare room - but the car problem made me run out of time. never mind at least the mechanic took the old battery away!! tip run next day off - at least the jumble is dealt with (jmble sales only 2 or 3 times a year!!
Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"

Made great progress with paperwork clutter in kitchen last night. Did actually shut myself in there once DS and DD were in bed. Stuff filed or chucked, few bits in "to be actioned" pile, mainly appointments to be made, but bit late to ring for those when I finished my mission at 2am! As I filed stuff I had a quick sort through files and removed any out of date/no longer needed manuals, letters, etc. My household files are in quite good order really, so didn't take too long to do that. As I suspected, doing the job wasn't half as bad as thinking about it and kitchen is so much nicer now.
Made a mental note just to deal with paperwork once a week or so, rather than letting it grow into a monster on the side. I wouldn't dream of leaving dirty pots or the laundry to pile up! I am good at putting junk mail straight in the recycling.
Major areas of decluttering still to go are photos/mementos/cards/kids' drawings. I know I have a few shelves of those types of things in various cupboards. Not something for this weekend though. Also garage has deteriorated, so that will need tackling again. And I still have areas of garden that need some plant and weed decluttering.
Keep waving goodbye to all that not needed stuff in your lives everyone :-).
