  • I finished my 2nd project of 2015 at the weekend - Christmas Village by Prairie Schooler

This was a partially completed UFO passed to me by a friend. I loved the design and the colours so really enjoyed stitching it and I plan to frame it for display this year

Oh FoS what a lovely scene. I agree with CarlaMarie that it would make a lovely cushion but don't make more work for yourself! How long did it take you? I've almost finished one tiny cross stitched rose for my Mum's card and that's taken me a couple of evenings. I know my evenings aren't long by the time I've finished work but still. . . I'm Captain Slow! Thanks for the inspiration for this btw; I'd been struggling with a card design from a book but seeing your Welsh dresser card sent me back to some Woman's Weekly craft specials and they had a 'rose' theme in. I've not stitched it in the right colours but it was all from stash.

Ok this wasn't a long job. Cross stitched rose from an old edition of Woman's Weekly Craft Edition. ALL items from stash; I'm ashamed to admit I'm speechless at the amount of 'craft' items I have that I have never used until frugal 2015. It's the first handmade card I've made and I'm quite pleased with it.

Yeah the finger puppets are also completed and I've made a card to go with the cushion for her 50th. Light's not very good so will try to photograph tomorrow,

FoS - that's a lovely piece. You must be a quick worker, even if it was a UFO.

Charly, you've certainly got your mojo going. I'm jealous.

I've finished preparing my son's wedding invitations and I'll assemble them on Sunday (with a little help from my daughter, the bride and the best maid) hopefully.

    Morning all
    Hope everyone is well
FoS love the wip you finished, it looks a lovely piece and I'm sure will have special meaning to you as it was a wip that was given to you to complete.
Love the little knitted hedgehog and think cheetah girls Cape looks fab.
I'm currently working on a baby blanket for expected first grandchild, I've knitted 21 of the 36 squares I need so just over half way there.

    Count me in!

This challenge is ideal for me as I run my own sewing business so I find I don't want to stitch much in the evenings or weekends. Fifteen projects over the year should be doable though.

I won't post a list as I have soooo many projects in my head that I'm not sure which I'll do this year, but I can guarantee they will be a mixture of knitting (socks and baby blanket), crochet (flower wreaths and double bed sized blanket), dressmaking (Victorian clothing project) and a new quilt for my bed. I will NOT be including the work I do for customers though ;)

I do find crafting difficult at the moment with a new puppy who thinks he's a kitten and keeps running off with my wool , but he is learning that the puppy crate comes in handy...

Stitching Witch I have such funny pictures in my head of a puppy in a crate and you with hands in your hair and pins in your mouth! I'm quite sure it's not that funny though. I'm in awe of you ladies I couldn't contemplate crocheting anything larger than a granny square at the moment. That wouldn't cover a bed. My knitting is rubbish and slower than me cross stitch!
