  • Check the fees on Hotels.com though - you book thinking you will be getting say 10% cashback only to find an admin fee on top of the advertised price when paying.
I have stopped using them unless they are the cheapest overall.

Given up on TCB for this exact same reason.

Two different cleared browsers, Quidco tracks everything and TCB keeps failing - its only just happened in the last 5 months or so - 1 in 10 on TCB tracked for me in that period.

Ever since I switched back to Quidco everything has tracked just fine...

I'm still fighting a missing claim with TCB from January last year too!

    I've never had this.

I've seen local taxes quoted separately but never an admin fee.

    It states taxes and fees.

are you sure the fees are admin charges or fees levied by the hotel

I'm wondering if you're seeing something different to me.

For UK I get a single price for hotels, including VAT.

For USA I get a headline price with a "taxes" price in smaller print on the same caption.

Despite making around a dozen bookings a year in various countries I've never seen anything that I can describe as a fee charged by Hotels.com.

I've rarely seen one of their prices cheaper elsewhere either so there's no implication of a hidden fee. From my experience they don't hide anything in the exchange rate either. Paying in local currency or Sterling costs the same.

Good luck with chasing the claim. I might try Quidco instead, although usually Topcashback works fine. I have used Topcashback quite a lot recently and everything went through.
  • I had a similiar issue with o2 declining an award, I raised a query/ compliant about it and it was sorted very quickly. Best option is to try that first and see if you can either get an answer or payout that way.

It could be a simple thing where they have bulk cleared a load of claims, I know Waterstones have done this on more than one occassion.

I tried Thomas Cook on Twitter and they gave a number to call, but they just put me through to someone who didn't know anything about it and couldn't help. Maybe a complaint to Thomas Cook is the way to go. Even if they could give me a reason as to WHY they rejected the cash back, surely they owe me that.

I had the same with ebookers declining twice, once for over £100 and the next time for over £40 :(
