No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January 2015

I didn't go to the Boots sale but I have received the last of my sale bits:
Soap and Glory set
Sugar Crush Body Wash (250ml)
Sugar Crush Sugar Scrub (50ml)
Sugar Crush Body Buttercream (300ml)
I ordered the S&G set and the perfume on Boxing Day but only just collected them. I love the perfume and it was a bargain (to me) at £18. I've wanted to try Sugar Crush for such a long time (so many bloggers have raved about the scent) and I've found that I don't really like it! I paid for the set with points so it isn't a disaster. I've not tried the scrub yet but I'm relieved that the shower gel and scrub are small sizes :rotfl: (The only S&G body care I've tried before was the Righteous Butter which I loved.) I really like the formulation of the Sugar Crush Buttercream but not the scent (I'm really surprised by this...) Hopefully it will grow on me! :rotfl:
Ooh snap - I picked up this set on Weds, was really pleased to get it as I've used the scrub before and loved it - S&G scrubs are probably my fave, though I did vow never to buy a scrub on its own again. You have me worried now though - I hope I like the body butter as that size will probably last me the best part of a month!
So the INs (other items not being included and have gone straight into the pressie cupboard - will count as INs if I ever bring them over to use):
1. Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream 300ml
2. Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub 50ml
3. Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash 250ml
4. Sanctuary Shimmer Body Butter 300ml
5 - 8. Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter 200ml x 4 (these were only £1.80 each - the 300ml is usually £10+ so even taking into account 3 for 2 etc they were a snip, and I get through vatloads of body buter so couldn't resist.
Total spend £15.60 - I can live with that, quite pleased with my restraint in the face of a bargain for once! None of the INs were necessary but all will be used and enjoyed over the coming year or so and will save me money as they're brands I would usually buy full price anyway. Right, having justified that little lot to myself I'm now truly on the wagon for the foreseeable future!MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
UU of my favourite face product, the Aldi Restorative Multi Intensive Serum Luckily I managed to find one bottle amongst the myriad hordes of Renew and Aqua serums on the shelves to replace it. It's by far the most popular of all the face things that Aldi do.
Quite rightly too, though as usual I've been using the pump tube as a spatula for the last week, to hoick the remaining cream - it's not actually a serum - out of the bottle.
I notice the new packaging (the word SOY replaces the letters Ca, for calcium) has acknowledged that women over the age of 55 do buy toiletries and it's now recommended for ages 60+. Previously it stopped at 55, I seem to recall.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Woefully late in posting my PP list etc for January, so I will start with INs
6 items Sanctuary gift box late Christmas gift
Wella colour safe shampoo for new highlights. The only chemist shop one available in town did not do much for my hair.
Organix Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner. So many of the hair products I used seem to weigh my hair down badly, so some new things to try.
UU
75ml approx. Misc. body creams, hotel freebies etc, decanted into pump dispenser.
Oral B Toothpaste Replaced with an SLS free one.
150ml Gatineau Floracil WBA love it, trying cheaper ones first
300ml Joico KPak Shampoo WNBA, it was lovely but too heavy for my hair.
Will work on PP list later. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

Oooh! That's a great price for The Righteous Butter. Well done for not going into a buying frenzy!
I wouldn't worry about the scent of Buttercream - I'm very much in the minority about this. The texture is great - it's a bit lighter than TRB and sinks in faster. I was just expecting a slightly different scent but am hoping that I'll grow to like itOn the bottom of the box it says the products are ok for 24 months so I'm going to use them for a little while then put them away whilst I use up some of my older products. (I've just rediscovered a bottle of Crabtree & Evelyn Jojoba moisturiser which I love so I'll concentrate on that for a while

Hello
Please can I join, I did briefly last year then fell off the wagon!0 -
Willowbee/Sundaysgirl - I really love the zingy scent of S&G Sugar Crush.
I got some wrapping paper in my local boots in the 70% off sale but nothing else, they just had a few mens Ted Baker sets left and the Sanctuary Shimmer Body Butter but I don't like shimmer body products so that was easy to resist.
I have an in
CND Stickey Base Coat - to replace my almost finished bottle. This is very good and I didn't want to run out.
I also got a Wet Brush to try, I am hoping to be able to get it through my curls without tearing half my hair out, I am noticing that since I gave in to the blasted curls my hair is getting thinner due to the knots when brushing, I do brush very carefully and only when it is washed which is about 3 times a week. Any curlies out there with any recommendations?????????Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Welcome back littlehope!
dolly - not speaking from personal experience as my hair is pretty straight, but my cousin has the most amazing natural corkscrew curls (and very thick hair) and I think she just uses a wide-toothed comb to do her hair in the shower after slathering on a load of conditioner in order to get rid of the tangles. Then she simply leaves to dry naturally (this takes rather a long time as you can imagine :rotfl: ) and tends rarely to use any products. Do you think something like that could work?MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
I haven't even looked at the Boots sale as I really can't justify buying anything else. My stash drawers are heaving and my S&G set I got for Christmas doesn't fit.
I did however yesterday go to Bodycare but only to pick up a hair colourant which I need and also bought 2 x foot packs which were only 99p each. Will make an effort this weekend to soak my feet, use the pedi-pro and put this pack on.
No plans at all this weekend which is a bit miserable but hey ho could do with saving money anyway.
Take care everyone and enjoy xxBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
