No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January 2015

It's not as easy Not Buying as I thought! Still having to resist the temptation to look at beauty deals but I'm pleased with with myself self anyway.
I have some Christmas gift Ins, Molton Brown Shampoo & Conditioner, Molton Brown Skin Creams, and Bayliss and Harding Stuff.
I have resisted buying more Liz Earle and bought the Boots no. 7 version of C&P instead as I am about to run out. Unfortunately I fell for the offer! There was no single (£10) bottles on the shelf so but there where double packs for £12. I used a £10 Compliments voucher towards payment so don't think I slipped up too much there. Worse thing is I received one of the dreaded Boots no.7 £5 voucher with the receipt.
I have finally got a UU on my Gliss shampoo which has been on the go for so long it's been ridiculous. Also about to use up my Elemis moisturiser sample which was ok but a little too thin, would not buy. Onto my Balance Me moisturiser next then I will have to buy again.
I'm going to make the time for another Sample Pamper night soon to clear up more of those fiddly little sample sachets that hang about forever and a day.
Keep up the good work everyone, you are continuing to inspire me!0 -
Welcome back hammyham! Don't be too hard on yourself, we all go off the rails a bit at times, the important thing is that you realise it's just a blip and get back on track
Lovely order there dolly, I'm rather jealous.
mcculloch - pleased to hear I'm not the only one still ploughing my way through the Christmas cheese/chocolate/cake...
asset I'm so sorry to read the sad news about your friend, how shocking. I somehow completely missed this news until now, so I'm sorry for not saying anything before now.
I have a UU:
2/2. Philosophy Vanilla Cake Mix Shower gel 120ml - this was a lovely treat, smelled great and lathered well so lasted me a while. It was part of my bargain sale kit last year (£5.50 for 3 items!) and while I would very happily snap it up again at that price, I doubt I would ever pay full price for their shower gels as cheaper ones are just as good IMO. No need to buy shower gels any time soon, I have 15 full-sizes left (and several minis), which I expect will last me the rest of the year at least!MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
1 UU and 1 TA last night.
UU – Avon Bath fizz, a pack of 4 so 3 more to go
TA – The Body Shop Nutriganics Refreshing Toner, hated the smell of this and worried that it was breaking me out. Life's too short! No more goo hoarding!
2018 UU: 9 IN: 1 TA: 0 Total: 58/67
2017 UU: 50 IN: 16 TA: 2 Total: 42/78 2016 UU: 53 IN: 17 TA: 0 Total: 36/72
2015 UU: 74 IN: 43 TA: 3 Total: 32/64
2014 UU: 114 IN: 67 TA: 7 Total: 38/920 -

Funnily enough I felt exactly the same about the Nutriganics toner - weird.
My Clinique order arrived yesterday, I got a Black Honey Gift Set which contained:
Almost Lipstick
Superbalm Moisturising Gloss
Nail Polish
Eye Liner
all are in the Black Honey colour. As I said yesterday there is a story behind this order. Many years ago I bought a set of mini Origins Bite your Lips lipsticks and totally fell in love with the Raspberry colour, I bought a full size of it and then when that ran out another one in New York. I used it all the time and it was perfect so what did Origins do - discontinued it. I bought something very, very similar from M&S after swatching countless lipsticks, of course that had to be discontinued aswell. Black Honey is very similar, it is slightly sheerer but gives that berry stained lip. I could have just bought the Lipstick on it's own but the set was reduced.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

And funnily enough my Clinique Black Honey gift set arrived in the post the other day! I've heard such good things about the lipstick and the nail polish, and am actually really loving the eyeliner too. We must be twins! No more goo hoarding!

A few INs for me today (which were planned; although I almost crumbled when I saw some things I really wanted in the 50% off sale that I hadn't seen earlier):
Witch Blemish Stick 10ml: Replacing my UU earlier in the week.
Boots Skin Clear Deep Pore Facial Treatment Scrub 150ml: HG and my current one is almost finished. I also had a 150 points booster if I bought something in this range and as the product was already on offer, I got a pretty good deal
Nivea Soothing Cleansing Mousse 150ml: Needed a new face wash and this one appealed to me.
Boots Essentials Moisturising Cream Cucumber 150ml: Trying to find a budget moisturiser that doesn't make me oilier than I already am so giving this one a go!
Boots Essentials Spearmint Lipsalve: Replacing my one at work.
DH and I have just booked our holiday for the year so I know I'll get some serious UUs then, however part of the trip is in the US and I know I will be buying a few things there that I can't get over here.0 -
pirateyqueen - what a coincidence. I've used the eyeliner today too and it hasn't budged which is more than can be said for Urban Decay 24/7 liners which always smudge on me.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

A couple more outs - woo hoo!
3) Bench 24/7 mini perfume. I just chucked this. I did vow I would use up all my perfume samples/minis, but this smells like drain cleaner so I couldn't bear to leave the house wearing it.
4) Lush Celebrate body lotion. WNBA as it's lovely, but I am not paying this much for a body lotion when you can get equally nice ones cheaper.0 -
UU of Wilko bodyspray discovered under the bed. Quite a fruity, floral one that I think was a gift years ago.
Bodysprays aren't really my thing, although at one time I bought one roughly every month - and they all went the way of my friend who was out of work at the time.
Can't buy this one again as they stopped making it - I looked on the Wilko website and the packaging is completely different now.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
2 more Uus:-
4 Tresemme Thermal Recovery Shampoo. Loved this. New HG. Have replaced already.
5 loreal casting crime conditioner. This is the mini conditioner that comes with the hair colour. Very nice product. Have bought Tresemme conditioner and other shampoos/conditioners to use so hopefully won't need to buy anymore for a couple of months.
Going to repaint nails using OPI Her Majesty's service and Rainbow Connection.
Have a nice evening ladies xxBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
