My debt busting diary 2015

Hi OrangeFairy and Cwtchie - thanks for stopping by!
I've been useless at updating, but confession time - I'm a wee bit distracted...... We're expecting a mini Scatty!!!! Makes getting rid of the remaining debt all the more important, as I really don't want to be using maternity pay to pay it off. Got another 4 or 5 pay days until little one arrives so really need to get cracking. The emergency fund (currently £500) is doubling as baby fund / mat leave fund now, although we have been offered a lot of stuff so fingers crossed we shouldn't need to dip into too much of it. I'm also making sure the ponies are set up for winter now (e.g. Rug cleaning / repairs, wormers in bulk, double up on buying supplements etc) to try and make those first few months whilst I'm off as financially straight forward as possible!
In other news..... So far this month I've paid £200 off cc2 (hoping to add another £100 fingers crossed) and am almost at payout for £5 with $wags (must do better with this esp since I'd like the bulk of Christmas shopping done before the wee one arrives).
Food shopping had a bit of a spendy week 1 but have managed to keep the OH away from the supermarket since so can hopefully grasp a bit of control back lol!
Hope you're all enjoying a nice short working week. I'm looking forward to a weekend in front of the TV watching Badminton horse trials

Congratulations!
I knew there had to be a reason for the rotten weather - of course, it's Badders!0 -
Thanks guys - still doesn't quite seem real yet!
My plan to regain control of food shopping has backfired this weekend. £80 spent and to be honest not a massive amount to show for it. Really must tighten control for next month.
Managed to swag the £5 GC, so a little bit towards the Xmas fund.
Had £57 become payable in my Cashback account so have withdrawn this, rounded it up to £60 and paid it off the credit card. Now brings the main card to less than £1500. Would be great to see it under £1k next month.
Have paid what will hopefully be the last big instalment to SLC. Should have about £35 to pay once this instalments cleared. Will give them a call towards the end of the week to sort this out.
Currently have £160 in my TCB account and £30 in quidco - I get sooooo impatient waiting for these to become payable. Hopefully shouldn't be too much longer now.
Hope you all have a good week

Hi OrangeFairy - thanks for popping in lol!
Everything's fine thank you -just a wee bit ashamed to admit my MSE head hasn't been in place for the last couple of months, it's kind of been over taken by all things baby!
Realisations hit that I have just 3 more pay days til mat leave starts and still a chunk of debt to pay off eek! To top it off my newer, supposedly more reliable and economical car purchased last year cost us £1300 in the space of 3 weeks and swallowed all my potential over payments for a couple of months. Grrrrr!
So in terms of the debt busting very little if anything has been achieved. I actually missed a min payment on card 2 ( a whole £7) as it slipped off my radar (I blame the baby brain!) which screwed up my 0% period (to be fair there was only a couple of months left to run anyway). So have transferred the balance along with what I don't foresee paying off cc1 to a new card, to try and take off a wee bit of the pressure. I will get there one day, just wish it wasn't taking so long! Not sure of exact scores on the doors, will try and update those over the next couple of days.
In terms of baby stuff we're pretty much there. Both sets of parents have been fab and have given us money towards the big purchases. Have also got loads off ebay and fb. Just stocking up on nappies and wipes now to cushion the blow a bit when little one arrives.0 -
