....or should that be hay??
Oh dear raining really heavy here and blowing a gale.
Horses in by 4, when I looked out in between wallpapering DH was getting them in, brownie points for him x
House is slowly getting back to normal, need a couple more days of decorating and then decluttering and done for a bit
snow has gone now, rain is sorting that out.
Just about to have a cuppa and biscuits (diet out the window)
Night everyone x£250 shopping, diesel and any other spends

Ha ha ha lol, if I had a receipe for the well trained husband I would also have a million squid in the bank

I'm not sure what part of France we looked at judi24 I think it was Brittany, lovely anyway
Today I have:
Mucked out with help
Fed this evening
Painted the rest of bedroom
Painted coving
Painted edge of skirting board
Done 2 loads of washing
Decluttered everywhere (with a little help
)
Hoovered right through
Hoovered big dog as she is moulting badly
Made bread
Gave in an had chippie for tea, was actually yuk!
Just about to have a bath
Have a stinking headache due to the stress of shouting at DS and DD to clean up after themselves!!! They are brill at making something to eat, then leaving me the dishes! Leaving cups and empty wrappers everywhere! Letting washing accumulate a lot on their bedroom floor! Leaving cups, glasses and biscuit wrappers in their bedrooms, urrggggggghhhhh enough!!!! So I told them......quite firmly.....and nuclear war followed......DH supported me and they sulked! Result clean house and have already saved myself two extra sets of dishes to do at different times
My foot us down and down it will stay

I think my estimation of the overdraft being reduced was wishful thinking.
I am not good at keeping track of bills and spends even though I have list after list. So last night I sat down and compiled a spreadsheet and promptly felt a bit sick
We have from January taken a £500 drop in income, it is showing clearly on the spreadsheet, so tightening up the belt even further is necessary.
DH and DS will be trying to increase their business, they have a lot of stock which needs advertising and hopefully it will sell, they will also buy in a lot of new stock and advertise that.
I had two separate calls today, both for work, once was cancelled (thankfully, need the money but really didn't fancy that) and the other is going ahead so should be a minimum of about £120, other work this month is totalling around £120 also, so about £240 but not sure when payments will come through. That will help a bit and January is not over yet!
Horse feed needed shortly but the expensive bags of feed are still there and the cheaper ones are empty so there is a definite saving there so will be continuing for the foreseeable future. The wood chewing has stopped....we don't like the taste of creosote lol.
Have cancelled a big show in feb which DD qualified for and although it breaks my heart I can't afford it
. So I have suggested that we go out locally again for a bit, qualify and go to the summer regionals instead, much closer to home as well and therefore much cheaper.
The house is much cleaner today and I have cleaned the windows in DS old bedroom and washed the carpet, DD helped me as she felt a bit better, antibiotics helping I think.
Tried to think of a super cheap meal for tea but failed and then DS suggested hot dogs, perfect
So full bellies and content kids tonight.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend, DH and I are going out for a walk, then going to finish the bedroom completely x£250 shopping, diesel and any other spends

I know how frustrating trying to get kids to clean up after themselves or help at home - its an on going battle in my house too! Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday!
Its so hard to say no the kids cos of lack of funds isn't it? But you have made the right decision about the show - as harsh as it might seem!0 -
Today:
Fed and turned out into field due to the yard being covered in a completely frozen sheet of hailstones, totally unsafe for the horses to walk on.
2nd horse out was the youngster she walked straight over to the fence and rolled, In horror I watched her roll through the wire and get stuck, then just lay there. DS ran to get wire cutters and I attempted to hitch the lead rope that DH had been leading her with around her leg in an attempt to pull her back over. A few attempts later after she nearly kicked my head off and I decided that actually I wasn't that stupid
. Anyway DH managed to shove her around after she thrashed and got her own legs partially out, I don't for the life of me know how he managed it because she is 16.1 Warmblood and well covered, in other words too big to shove but he did it, result she got up walked away and promptly went to do it again, this time a whack....oops sorry a tickle....and she ran off down the field, stress over until half hour later she'd taken her rug off!
Savings for today are found a man who supplies next door with hay/haylage and charges £28, I am paying £40! So I am going to ask him if he will deliver to us as well, DH is pleased other than the original man takes the muck heap, who cares £12 a bale of hay cheaper and I'll eat the muck heap lol
DH and DS sold a car today so are very pleased, the car was originally mine, given to DD for her 18th. DS bought it off her so she could have a different car and said he would sell it to get the money back, pleased it's gone, but was a nice little car
DH and DS business busy today again so that's good.
I've been shattered all day and refused to go for a walk this afternoon partly because it was very cold and I was freezing, maybe tomorrow
Used left overs from the freezer for everyone's tea and I had beans on toast so savings there
Enjoy the rest of the weekend x£250 shopping, diesel and any other spends

Oh dear sounds like a scary few moment with the horse and the fence!!!! Luckily no one got hurt! and hope horse (and DH!) has recovered!
Well done with the new hay supplier (I can send you spam though to save you having to eat the muck pile!!) Every penny counts and good news about car sale and busy business too!
Left overs tea is great on a Saturday - somehow I always feel we should have something special on a Saturday - its all about mind set isn't it??0 -
We have a mare that rolls after exercise in her stable and promptly gets cast. She is young and never learns and now has taken to waiting until you are out of sight to do it, knowing that if we are there, we'll stop her rolling.
Really pleased she is ok, I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of one of those kicks for freedom. The things we do

Love your diary - makes me think of what we will have when we are DF/Debt - CCV £3792
