Oh I am so knackered. We have almost finished decorating DS bedroom, just have to varnish floors and clean windows and then he can move across the hall.
Farrier called tonight because the big one lost a shoe, often does this, so went down to get everybody in and by the time the farrier had arrived I had swept the main yard and the smaller one, no mean feat.
So my sciatic nerve is in pieces and nothing but a boiling hot bath would do.
We've just had gammon for tea, DH had gammon and noodles and I had a sandwich and beet root, recked my diet with two lovely pieces of bread, yum, yum.
DD and DS have gone out, so only me and the scrumptious one in (DH) so cwtchie evening on the settee with Midsomer Murders and two woof woofs, and a cuppa I think.
Have a lovely weekend everyone x

Spent half hour this morning creosoting the fence, one of the bigger ones has taken to eating it! His way of saying I'm not staying on this yard let me go in the field! No way mate :)
Felt better doing the fence as I was feeling really guilty not being able to muck out as my lower back is really twingeing. DH and my mum did it - thank you x
Then DH painted coving and varnished DS bedroom floor but then run out of varnish so trip to the shops tomorrow to get some.
Have to do another round trip to cardiff tomorrow, that's another 3 hours out of my day, this one is at 7.30am but will call at the shops on the way home to save time and diesel :/
Had a make shift tea tonight, I had 4 crackers and butter with a banana, DH had DS left over Chinese from last night warmed up, waste not want not :)
DD full of cold but needs to go to work so is being very brave <3
Have got a very striking wallpaper for the room that DS is vacating, just need to paper, paint, fit the new skirting board (which we've had months) clean carpet and it will be done....phew that will be a weight off my mind.
Other bedroom has been fully decorated but has developed wet patches on the wall. DH thinks it may be as simple as a loose tile leaking down the cavity, I am thinking more like the whole house is falling down lol, either way my answer is to paper that wall to cover it :)
It's giving rain here tomorrow all day so that will put the damper on riding, fair weather riders here lol
Definitely need to have a phone call for work as funds as definitely starting to get a bit low, I reckon we are going to be very tight this month with not a lot of overpaying :(. Oh well keep on trying and keep on saying, do I want it or do I really need it??
On the plus side, half my fridge is actually clean, just need to do the door compartments now, shaming!
On the bad side - how could I have forgotten- we woke up this morning to a loud noise coming from the Rayburn, it was a bearing in the cooker pump, oh joy so no cooker now, luckily we still have heating and water, DH said he will take it apart and have a look at it.
Bought oil which is coming on Monday or Tuesday and I am delighted 39p a litre! That's a considerable amount less than last October, so chuffed with that :)
    Good night all x

Just catching up on you diary! Your horsey life sounds lovely but hoping you back pain gets better soon! My diet isn't going great either - too many Christmas bits still lingering! Hope your Cardiff trip is uneventful and productive at the same time!

We had damp on one wall. It went mouldy too-we didn't notice to start with as it was behind wardrobe. :(
Anyway, ours was down to a couple of tiles moving. I washed the wall with fl@sh with bleach and then painted it with special paint (about £20 for a small tin). Gave it a couple of coats and then just painted the wall. It's been fine since. :)

  • Sympathise with the back - I lost an argument with the wheelbarrow and the muck heap last week and strained my lower back, it's still sore. I have no idea what price our oil delivery was last week, I'll just wait for the bill, but I'm hoping it's less than the 62p a litre I paid in December 2013!

Hello everyone nice to see you :)
DS went up the attic today to see if there were any leaks causing the bedroom wall to be wet-no all dry, so DH thinks it is cracks in the render over the original stones, he said he'll go up and spray it with a sealer and hope that works, no way can we afford new rendering .
Inside then I'll find your paint tattycath and give it ago and then paper over the lot :)
Cardiff trip took nearly 4 hours due to traffic, heavier because it was Monday and raining, very glad to be back.
DS new room ready for him to move into which he is doing tomorrow :)
Have found a few things today to go into a collection to put on ebay, have to use my private account though as DH and DS go mad if I use their business account :)
Quick tea of bake pots, left over gammon pieces over the top and covered in cheese, yum, cheap and cheerful, tastes great, DH did it for me.
Had to give in tonight and take some co codamol so I could attempt to muck out this afternoon, DH was like a superhero belting round the place, I was like a wet rag, but i did do some and to be honest I was very glad when the tablets kicked in.
DD still not well but managed after some medicine to play a game of monopoly with me, DH and my mum, so sad lol!
I looks like I may have an overdraft in use still this month but I am hoping to have reduced it to around the £500 or so, which is reduced from £942 after Christmas, will have to wait and see how the month pans out.
Really miserable day here today, rained all day and they are suggesting a bit if snow tomorrow, ha ah ha I doubt it lol!
I have to try and get the business accounts done for December tomorrow or the next day, we need paying lol
    Have a lovely evening x

Hi Cwtchie - your Cardiff trip sounds like a long haul! well at least it's done! I used a spray over a damp patch in my kitchen after a bathroom leak last year it was great at preventing further strike through and very easy to do - I still haven't painted over it though - but that's cos of my lack of motivation!!!

We love monopoly (we have about 8 different versions of it!) and I got the card game in As*a the other day and it was really good fun and fits in my handbag for when we want to stop off somewhere when we are out and about - I have to keep my DS occupied as he has ADHD and can be a real pain when he has to sit still and do nothing!

Although you may have to use your overdraft it is less than last month - so that is good progress - I was the same but my boiler is playing up so going to have to get it looked at tomorrow so if its expensive it will eat into my overdraft as I haven't quite started my emergency fund yet (in my grand plan for pay day!)

Your dinner sounds great - I love jacket spuds with a mix of fridge bits but DS doesn't like potato (so he says! but happy to eat chips!) so its always a bit of a fight when I do it!

There is no crime in taking pain killers so you can do a bit with you back - the medical advice these days is to take painkillers so you can keep moving (obviously not overdoing it!) so that you keep muscles from seizing and making it worse!

Oh dear, diet blown thanks to a fruit and nut bar and loads of other stuff :)
Snow here today, on and off melting inbetween, due lots overnight but somehow I don't think so.

DS has moved across the hall so tomorrow I can start decorating his old room, phew!
DD has her BFF here tonight, usually is here at least 1 or 2 nights a week but has left her car down on the main road tonight ..just in case ;)

Don't feel like I have much to report on saving/frugal front, just plodding on as usual :/
Funny how I had no problem letting the horses spend the day on the yard in the snow, when I get them in fast if it rains lol :) They seemed much happier than when it's raining, at least they could get out, I try to get them out everyday or at the very least every other.
Just had a shower and spent almost the entire time scrubbing the shower with bleach, so I am now very very clean lol
DD and me looked online at property in France, flipping Nora you can get a cracking property over there, hmmmm feel like we are being ripped off and the sun shines lots :)

Oh I do that - I browse lovely sunny properties in France - dreaming of a long and happy retirement in the sun sipping wine and eating brie with the family nipping over to visit for the holidays!!! I have no doubt it will not be like that at all but we can all have dreams can's we?

This was a dream I had with my ex and for most of last year I thought that dream had died with our relationship - however recently I have been thinking about it more and asking why should I loose this dream even if I am on my own??

Which part of France were you looking at?

Hope the snow doesn't stay too long either!
