  • Hello guys!!

Not a SFD today already. I have had to get a taxi to work. Still scraped in under my travel budget but might just blow it out of the water if I get a taxi home tonight!!

Jellytot is out tonight staying at MiL's. I don't like it when she goes for a multitude of reasons but it has been over 6 months since the last time and it will do her good as long as she comes back in one piece. I will be having a takeaway to celebrate my night off!! and lying in for once in the morning... aka waking up at 7 as usual :rotfl:

Tomorrow should be SFD #19 to finish the month on!! :D

Nannygladys congratulations on the newest member of your family!! I love new babies!!

  • Good morning!

We also watched, 'Eat Well, Spend Less' I can't believe that they were spending around £200 a week!! It made DH realise that he doesn't have a clue what he spends. I usually do 2-3 proper shops a month and as he works in our nearest town so he does the top ups (comes in handy as he leaves off just as Morrison's yellow sticker)

I'm not going to meet the SFD target as today I will be spending. My sister and I are taking my 5 year old son to a Star Wars club tonight. I'm a little excited if I'm honest!

No snow here and it can stay that way, I hate it and I don't want it getting in the way of my plans.

    Positives
    1. Because I worked a bank holiday sometime last year I have the day off
    2. Star Wars!
It's nearly the weekend, DH isn't working tomorrow, I have no cakes booked in so it's all ours!

Phoned the bank about the strange "christmas supermarket h back", it was a cash back from them! I registered for cash back ages ago and didn't think it worked. At least they could have called it RBS cash back or sth.

Payday today and for the first time in about 5 months I know exactly what left for the month as I now know what to pay for DD's nursery rather than having to hassle them for 2 weeks. Today will be another SFD. Hubby will be out tonight so I leave the top up shop till tomorrow.

    Afternoon.

One reasonably naughty turtle here but I was also good too. We bought a holiday yesterday.
Couldn't resist the travel bug any more and exp3d1a had a good deal for my dream hotel in Rome.
No buyers remorse however, as we paid for it using our new and improved holiday pot. (basically our new account means we no longer need the bongo pot so transferred all the money from it into the holiday pot).

This means that we paid £630 for our holiday... we had £400 sitting in a pot to pay for a bit of it, and on 1st February we will have the next £230 to pay the rest.
    :j

Another extra shift today but it is a good one. I have swapped from dayshift today (no extra pay) to nightshift last night (night pay) and nightshift tonight (night pay and enhancements for weekend).
The end of February should be a lovely welcome bonus.
    :D

Erm... I don't know if Rome counts but if not then I am now on 19 spend-free days.
    :o

I know I should be grumpy with myself for spending such a lot of money on a holiday... but we have saved for it and we will be good whilst there.
This is what I want to be like once my debt is gone. Pay for something and then pay it off straight away using savings.
    :embarasse

    Hope everyone is doing okay.
    Hugs.

    Hello everyone!

Mothernerd thanks for starting the new thread.

Nannygladys congrats on the new arrival.

Stewby enjoy the holiday knowing you have budgeted for it.

Well, I didn't get the relaxing day off I was hoping for and I am afraid I have to confess to a BIG spend day. In my defence... It's all DHs fault! In truth, he bought a car late last year that has never worked properly. The garage refused to repair it so we have claimed chargeback through visa (there is still time left for the garage to contest it but hoping beyond hope that they don't.). Anyway, DH has been to look at a replacement today, so this has meant £15 in fuel to get there and back and just under £200 deposit on the new car.

On the plus side, we stopped at an employment agency on the way home and they seem hopefully that they have a job lined up for DH. We will know next week.

Meals have been as planned. I have also contacted gas and elec to sort direct debit and have sorted my new car ins which has come down a fair amount this year.

Hi everyone:) didn't make it to work, feel awful! I'm worried I won't have everything in place for the kitten tomorrow. Trying to see what I can pick up from argos tomorrow. The pet shop apparently does not take cards and as I collect Tesco club card points to turn into air miles it makes no sense,to get more than I need to from there.

Way to go Stewby :T You and your pots are an inspiration and I know what you mean. I'm trying to push my dfd forward as I'm trying to get to new York this year. I haven't done too well though. I only went and forgot to pay the card with the deal running out. I paid it two days late. I know I have a 12.00 default charge, I paid off the balance so owe zero on it, but sure they will charge interest on it regardless as I broke the terms by paying it off late. Well, I'm still proud to be down to the final card :T

Sorry no idea what my totals are but I have taken my lunch in everyday to work! Can't believe we are nearly in february :) Take care everyone.

Thank you LoveaDove for January's challenge!

Today I am grateful for a surprise phone call from dh, for getting plenty of walking done, for time out and about with dd, for my mum being on the mend, for cutting out 3 bunnies and starting on the knitted body.
