    Debt-free and Proud!
NSD number 14 today but that is me done for the month. Was one off my own target and way of the Turtle target of 18! :(

    Today I am grateful for:
    1. The slow cooker- used for the first time to cook a delicious meal, and so easy!
    2. DH being home tonight
    3. My mum always keeping me in mind when she spots bargains

Mothernerd - I am away for the weekend again so will miss the grand opening of the Feb thread. Can you assign me a number, if you remember please (don't worry if not- will hopefully be logging in Monday evening).

    Hi everyone
Sorry I've been missing, I now have a new baby gdaughter and all is fine with mother and baby and dad is over the moon.

Bad news is that my budget for food has gone out of the window as I've been looking after her other children whilst she's been in hospital and I went a bit mad, well more than a but. Anyway, I only have the dog now so the spending has stopped and I shouldn't need to spend anything more until the beginning of February. So I feel quite a numpty really being swayed by kids on the food front but it's been done now and looking back over the last week at what I spent I can,say that I have learnt my lesson and won't go for the easy option again!!!!

Roll on February when I get super frugal to claw back some of what I've spent - I can try anyway!!!!

Haven't caught up yet so hope everyone is making it to the end of the month in the black

Today I am grateful for getting in a good walk at lunchtime, for lovely neighbour's OH cooking me 2 hm burgers when I cheekily asked for some as it smelled so good, for dd's newly acquired skill of bouncing on the boumcy hopper sideways, for a lovely chat with my dad, for getting the cheapest fuel possible for the car.

Hi everyone:) Not feeling great, come down with some kind of flu bug .

Calling, I hope your feeling better after that encounter with the office bully, keep your chin up :)

    Congratulations Nanny Gladys!

Stewby and fmess well done on the finances :T Syn, you will be fine :)

I will be collecting an 8 week old kitten on Saturday:j Thankyou for the recommendations guys. I'm not sure if I can go into work tomorrow as look and feel awful, but I have so much to finish off and DS is working on a job so i'll be home alone, which is a no no with the mice running amok

I had a nSD yesterday, but spend 100 pounds on my kitten. Due the fact I feel so awful I couldn't really interact with the little fella, but he is s cutie:)

Today I'm grateful for my family,
For enough food to feed them and a warm home
For bumping into someone yesterday, who knew the way to Victoria, when I had to walk to work from green park station.

    Take care everyone.

    Morning all

Sorry for the lack of posting, I just seem to have been super busy the last few days and think it'll cpntinue into next week. Yesterday was SFD number 17 :j and LTW. No exercise due to snow/sleet and an 11.5 hour day at school. Today will be a SFD if they don't come to collect my charity donation for an event at school, hoping they come on Monday instead!

Thanks mothernerd and traveller for the congratulations. I'm so desperate to be DF this year, every penny is going to the debt.

Have a lovely day, hope the snow is enjoyable and not disrupting!

  • Morning turtles! Happy friday, I'm so incredibly glad this week is over, and it's nearly a shiny new month. Have not had a great January (not on the budget front, just in general, budget is fine) and looking forward to a fresh start and mother nerd's lovely new challenge... can you sign me up please?

Off to[STRIKE] play in the snow [/STRIKE] work, anyway!

First and foremost congrats to nannygladys on your bundle of joy!!

I am going to log my 18/18 SFD now and then I am committed to spending no money at all today!! It's been a spendy few days where my resolve has be worn away. Well, I went on my date and spent over £30..and yes, you've guessed it, I insisted on paying for the meal.

My budgets are over in some areas, but I came in under my overall budget by nearly £50 so I am really chuffed about that. :j

Thriftylass you have inspired me with your personal challenge and I think I may join you in trying to raise £400 of extra pennies this year! Although I won't exclusively commit to Ebay but use other mediums or anyway I see fit for saving a few pennies, similar to the Make £10 a Day thread which i'm not sure I could do!

Had a light dusting of snow yesterday but too wet to settle here. I do love how pretty the snow looks at first but once it turns into slush that's the end for me!

    Positives:
Receiving an out of the blue telephone call from Uni friend who I haven't seen for years.
Enjoying being creative and finishing some sewing projects.
My happiness jar reminding me that it's the little things in life that count.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
I'm in for Feb. Have really enjoyed the challenge. I won't make the NSD target but I think 15 or possibly 16 out of 18 in my first month of formally recording them is pretty good.

Hit all my other budgets so that is good.

And have loved getting to know you all.

Haven't made a massive dent in my debts this month but I have managed to pay everything & then £60 in over payments which is a good amount to roll at that snowball :)

See you on the Feb thread.
