if you have a disc for the OEM install then as long as you have the licence key then you can transfer to another PC if the original packs up.
Infact if you read the licence you can install it on more than one machine, but can only have it running on 1 machine at a time
OEM licences die when the motherboard of the systems that are first installed on dies, unless the MoBo is an exact replacement.
As far as I know MS have only ever allowed software to be installed on more than one place on one licence for Office , and that's only where the secondary device is mainly used by the same person who uses the primary desktop.0 -

they do also allow this on windows OS, but even on office if its installed on more than 1 machine then only one of these machine can be using it at any one time, so if you have it installed on 2 machines, you cannot have both machines running at the same time, unless you contact MS and get a second machine added to the licence0 -

Good to see Microsoft's OEM licencing rules being completely misunderstood as usual

I'm afraid they don't. A windows licence, unless a volume licence. can only ever be live on a single machine.
Read what i statedso if you have it installed on 2 machines, you cannot have both machines running at the same time, unless you contact MS and get a second machine added to the licence
I currently have 3 machines thats use the same Vista licence, all i did was contact MS and at the time i paid £50 each to have the other 2 machines added to the licence. Not sure what the prices would be now, but these machines are in storage, so are not used now0 -
