"Hogging the middle lane"

  • I think its worse when there are only two lanes and someone sits in the outside lane. Was stuck behind someone the other day doing this. He was doing 50 and there a lorry in the left lane also doing 50. There were no roundabouts or places to turn right for at least 30 miles. And still he sat there.

This road was a 70. Eventually, people undertook him then swerved out to pass the lorry. Very dangerous.

You've already been told it is illegal, so you're either a troll and imbecile or both.

He (or she) may well be a troll and/or an imbecile, but it's not illegal.

Hogging the middle lane is one of my pet peeves.

When towing a trailer I'm limited to 60 on motorways, and not allowed to use lane 3.

But the middle lane seems full of idiots driving at about 55 (probably showing 60 on their speedo) who refuse to move over. And they never seem to look in their mirrors.

Was really pleased to see one of them pulled over by the police recently. They took almost a minute to see the blue flashing lights in their mirrors

The driver you saw pulled by the 5-0 cannot have flashed their blue badge to the police to show their exemption from using lane 1.

I went straight to my blue badge, showed it to his face, told him I had a disability and that I would be calling the police due to discrimination.

    Playing the disabled card, eh..?

    Nutter.

I have a yellow sticker on the back of my car which is about 4x4 inches and reads "If you tailgate me, drive like a tvvat or cut me up pop your reg number into YouTube.."

It's amazing how many people back off once they can read it and see the little black box at the top of the window..

I think we should go american where passing either side is fair game, it would stop a lot of people getting stressed out about numpties being in the wrong lane

    Sorry, doner upset you.

It was a line from a previous classic from the OP
He lives just around the corner and has three spaces on his driveway. He is not a nice man (I have seen him drunk and rowdy a few times) but he is very respected because he has served in the army and is seen as somewhat of a hero. He wears his uniform quite a lot and he gets a lot of respectful looks. I mentioned it to one neighbour and the attitude was "give him a break, the lad has gone out to another country and risked his life for us, we should be respecting him and if he wants to use a space then that is the least we can do". They know he is nasty and worse when he has had a drink (he will eat things like kebabs and leave the rubbish on the floor) but they just say "well you might be a bit nasty if you had served like he has".
