"Hogging the middle lane"

I like driving in the middle lane and this is what is most comfortable for me. I am disabled. I don't go on the motorway that often but when I do I like to have a comfortable drive.

Now, if I am driving at the speed limit, then anyone taking over me is going over the speed limit and so there shouldn't be a problem.

I had an incident about a year ago, where a man followed me to the services. I needed the toilet and I wanted to go and eat the sandwiches that I had taken with me and have the drink that I had taken with me. What I do is go to the supermarkets and get my food and drinks from there as well as my household things as I REFUSE, absolutely REFUSE to use these services as they are sometimes priced more.

Anyway this man come over and said that I was stupid for "hogging the middle lane". I went straight to my blue badge, showed it to his face, told him I had a disability and that I would be calling the police due to discrimination.

I can tell you he backed off. So anyone out there who gets any bother and has a blue badge, just you make sure you use it. It can help in all kinds of situations.


He said that I had stayed in the middle lane for miles and miles. Well I did. Is there anything wrong with this?

Hogging the middle lane is needless, it is inconsiderate to other drivers and annoys the hell out of me for one.

It is also now illegal to drive hogging the middle lane to the effect that the Police can stop you and impose a fine and points if they see fit.

Just because you have a disabled badge DOES not mean you can flout the law - congratulations for making yourself look dumb !

My wife has a blue badge it doesn't give her permission to drive in an illegal manner.

You are wrong.

Discrimination is when you treat someone differently because of their disability. He came to tell you you were in the wrong because you were, not because of any disability.

Although this post does read like its a troll of some sort.

I thought only physically disabled people with a blue badge could actually be a driver???

But it seems that a mentally handicapped person can not only be (quite rightly) entitled to a blue badge for use as a passenger but they can also pass a driving test.

That's scary - mentally handicapped drivers such as the OP clearly is.

Perhaps we have taken disability equality rights too far.

Whatever next - a mentally handicapped Prime Minister?

Perhaps we have already reached that state of affairs.

People on this forum is FULL of people who do what is right for them. I don't mind if people think of me as a "troll", that is the choice of people reading my posts.


My post was asking what is wrong with it? If there is something genuinely wrong with it then I will have to move over to the other side. I don't think my badge allows me to do what I want but I do think its fair to use it to show my disability when someone has a go at me.


It is no different to someone saying they are a hero if they have been in the army when they want to be treated a little less aggressively.


Why does it annoy people? What is wrong with doing the limit in the middle lane. I do not stay in the middle lane if a lane is closed though.


I don't want to be hated on here, I do want to understand.
