a long story short
Went to tesco
Picked two bags of vegs
Paid for one on the self scan
Security caught me
Took my details and said its a minor incident and let me go
3 days later recieved a letter from their solicitors (as it seems, (dwf)) saying I owe £100 for security costs
My question is
If i send them a letter of denial
Would they keep on sending me letters?

    Thanks for your reply
Basically went into tesco's (same idea) went to buy 2 bags of vegetables and went to the self scan and basically paid for one. Since the vegs are light weight the computer didn't notice it when I put it in the bag. Ended up here basically

basically your wife took DVDs failed to pay and then was detained by police and interviewed (this is the procedure that happens to any caught shoplifter) the fact she was an employee makes no difference infact it makes it worse as she found out. the store followed their procedure and did an internal investigation and then sacked her.

what did you expect to happen. she stole from an employer, so what do you want anyone on here to say or do. so you want use to say its OK to steal from an employer. now they want their legal costs back and you moan about it and call it harassment.

You're complaining about harassment from a company you stole from? Can you see the irony there?

What happened with Argos and the camera you claim not to have received?

Also no police were involved in my part. The security just said it was a minor incident, took my details and said I should go. Then recieved this letter from dwf 3 days later

What help are you looking for Science apart? I'm not sure whether there is treatment available for thieves, perhaps you could ask your doctor?

well you confused the issue with that link, but either way you shoplifted and got caught and now are are being asked to pay a fine/legal fees. even if the security guard says its minor, he still has to report it and the final decision is not his to make.

also your case was totally different to the link you gave
