Back to the grind stone.
I am not so sure I feel very rested though. But looking forward to catching up with a few jobs, and feeling back in control of things.
I have my sewing Surgery coming up this morning and I know one of my ladies from the course is returning, so she can finish her project.
My girl who usually works Thurs and Fri is coming in, and at some stage my Tuesday lady will also be in. So the two sewers will finally meet too.
DGD is at her holiday club bright and early, clutching the kindle with great gusto. Luckily I know they don't allow it all day or she would be glued to it.
I am here at work just having a cup of tea after a quick spot of tidying and washing up cups! Then it's finish the jacket I started, shorten a skirt and open up. Hopefully in that order, and on time.
Have a good day, and if your lucky enough to be off with the kids do something fun and memorable. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
good morning!
I have had two early nights in a row. I am so tired. I think I need that holiday I was supposed to have in April, when Dad died.
The shop is going quite well, I had another lady book into the evening lessons that start next week.
We have 3 on Saturday's Knicker Course.
I need to prepare for them today.
The alterations are steadily flowing in all the time now. There are three of us sewing now, so that means we are turning some of the jobs around very quickly.
I hope it will continue so.
Twin1, and her BF are coming up tomorrow, camping nearby. To be able to visit DGD. They are also bringing up the display cabinet for me.
I have just spent a few hundred pounds on second hand stock for the shop. So that I can take some of the older stuff out of circulation.
I will have to make a conscious effort to try and sell them elsewhere.
After the bills are paid, and the wages, then I will be getting more threads to stock the cabinets.
I am hoping that I will then be well stocked for a while, and can then hopefully make money out of the investments.
My brother has gone back to France today.
Hopefully my Mum is now all organised for the changes. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Oh dear! The weather yesterday was terrible! The amount of rain left the roads a river outside my shop. Poor old twin1, and DGD. It won't be that pleasant camping. But at least her Mum has come up to visit her. They also brought me my cabinet for the threads.
Yesterday I had a visit from a Textile Rep. Oops I have ordered 14 bolts of Fabric for the shop! Erm think I am taking my first big risk!
Choosing Fabrics that I am hoping will sell, and sample cards of quite a few others. I may have to use my Credit Card to pay for it this week. As it will be a Proforma Invoice. Eek.
I hope I have my sums right, and the predictions of where my business is going!
The Clothes I bought this week, I went through and sorted out a pile for the girls, biggest of Mooloo's children first. So she came over with the things they have grown out of, and we did a swap. She asked me how much I wanted etc, but I said it's ok, I will just have what ever doesn't fit, and or what they grow out of later. She rarely asks me for money, certainly not since she has been with this partner, and I like to do something to help. She was thrilled as her partners daughter, doesn't have a lot of clothes, and I had flip flops, sun hats, sun glasses, costumes, tee shirts and trousers. Ideal for their holiday next weekend.
I have a lot of stock to sort still, and to get sold.
The shop is becoming quite full.
Today I am teaching all day.
My staff will be back off holiday, and there is lots to keep me busy.
My itching has nearly all gone. Just feel sensitive in a few areas since I stopped the tablets. Will keep an eye.
Time to get ready for work. Have a good day. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I don't think I would have fancied camping when I was pregnant, Twin 1 must be made of stern stuff.

Sturner then I expected that's for sure!
Luckily it's been brighter today.
This morning we had a great time making our knickers, and this afternoon I had a one to one lesson with a lady, who was very happy With her time. She went off really happy. Hopefully she will now consider further sessions.
The shop side was quiet, as it usually is on Saturdays.
After work I went to see my Mum, she was on Skype with my sister, then my brother popped up too.
I changed her bed for her. She seems ok dispite my brother worrying about her.
She's going to France at the end if July now. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
DGD is back. Wet weather hasn't dampened her enthusiasm for camping then.
I have been given a few bags of clothes and shoes. Had a quick look, lots of basic tee shirts. To me they are crying out for Upcycling. But will I get the time, or more the energy to do it.
They will have to stay in the car for a day or two, as I have a shop full to bursting. It's time to sort and thin. So I will have to organise my time, and the staffs accordingly.
Today I bought a bike helmet. So no more excuses for not learning to ride the bike now. Just need the weather, the time, and the enthusiasm.
DGD is back to school tomorrow. So time to get the uniform etc sorted out. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Had a stressed day yesterday. The shop was just too full! It was getting me all wound up. So today I didn't sew a thing. I was organising, re-organising the shop floors, the stock, etc but had to pop out for a couple of hours to take my Mum to B&Q to pay for her new bathroom as she couldn't pay it over the phone for some reason.
So I am back in in the morning, and then the afternoon is DGDs school sports days.
I'm tired. Really need a holiday! But August is the next chance I will get. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Going to seethe doctor at 5.10 this evening. As itching is still a problem, although not to the same extent. But I am also so tired all the time.
It was sports day today. DGD's team came 2nd and she got to stand up on the podium to represent the team. Proud Granny Moment.
Glad it was a Wednesday and I got to attend.
I planned on going into work later, but after the school run there was nowhere any where near my house to park the car so I gave up and went to work. It still took two of us until 1pm to finish the sales floor. And that's still leaving me to vacuum in the morning etc.
I ordered/bought a pile of children's clothes in Bundles on eBay last night, ready to fill the gaps in the ages available.
Hope it will be value for money, and make me money!
I seem to have spent a fortune in the last few weeks. So I hope I'm doing the right thing.
Time will tell.
That's two days I havent done any sewing. Which means tomorrow I will have to crack on.
I'm having a cup of tea before I go across to the doctors. Then it's back to finish tidying the house as I've a friend coming over for dinner tonight.
( although all I want to do is sleep now). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
