More power to your elbow, your shop seems amazingly successful given the size of Brackley - you're obviously pulling in people from the surrounding area, and despite still not making any income for yourself out of it you have a foreign holiday to look forward to. Enjoy.

That's not very nice -a three night Ryanair trip is hardly pushing the boat out - and most new businesses don't show profit in their first year -and tax and benefits concessions tend to support people as the long term is what is important.

I am not paying a penny for the holiday. It is my friends treat. I will have spending money, which is coming out of my £500 baby emergency fund, as I haven't recouped all the savings I used to start the business. Yes it is only a 3 night Ryan air holiday.
But it is also a huge step leaving DGD behind. For all of us.
Social Services have decided to book a visit with twin1 while she has DGD on Friday. So I am praying she is on form and not one of her can't be a**** days!
Brackley is expanding rapidly, and with any luck that can only be a good thing for my business. Of the 800 plus jobs I have done so far, I would say 300 are returning customers one, and about 40 are regular with jobs most months. The furthest afield was a lady who came from Corby, but she came to support me from here, MSE. Then one from near Bicester, and one from Hinton in the Hedges ( 2 miles out ).
The rest have all been Brackley and Croughton.
When the advert eventually gets printed then perhaps there will be a few more. If it is going to around 10,000 premises as they say, I should pick up about 2% of customers.
It is not expected for a new business to make much money in its first 12 months, and the fact that I am paying staff but not me is not a huge concern -yet- the staff are necessary to build the business and be able to provide a great service, as the clientele grow, we need to grow.
Once the accessories etc are incorporated, then along with the lessons it should start to pull in enough to pay me at least a retainer. Time will tell.
I am starting to seperate the transactions on a spread sheet so I can see how much is clothes, makes, accessories, habadashery and fabrics.
    As well as the alterations.
    The sewing machines also help.
Right cup of tea done, time to wake DGD and get her to Holiday Club.
Today I am opening up, but have to leave my staff in charge as I must take my Dad to the hospital, he is not very well at all. Mum is very worried about him.
I joked he had to get better soon as his new caravan is coming on Tuesday, and they go to France in May!
But I am worried this time. His breathing is awful, he can't eat, and he was so fit not so long ago.
He can't hardly make it up the stairs never mind his usual walk around the town. Even Mum has had to go with him to do the food shopping, and she struggles with walking stick. She hadn't been food shopping in 20 plus years. So you know something is seriously wrong. She had to google how to cook him scrambled eggs, as Dad is her carer. Not a good position for them both to be in.
For me, at least I don't have to close the shop. I have two very capable ladies to help me.

Sorry to hear about your Dad's health Mooloo.

I really hope you enjoy your holiday. It must feel a huge deal to leave your granddaughter behind. We have friends who seemed happy to holiday a lot without the kids. I am not saying this is you by the way, just that I have never done so in 6 years and wouldn't want to. I think what you have done for your daughter is amazing. Good luck with everything.

Well it wasn't a quick trip to the hospital. It was a marathon.
Dad is still in. He had to have a colonostamy, or something like that. ( the go look see what's wrong in the bowel dept!). He has a Tumor. They did a biopsy there and then. But his heart rate is too fast, 144 plus, and his breathing worse so they sent him to A & E, where he was put on heart monitors, and oxygen. After several hours he was seen by a doctor, moved to Resusitation, and given beater blockers, and a diuretic, as his heart needs to slow down and they need to drain the build up of fluid in his body, and lungs etc.
He is in a ward now, and I am finally home. My family in France have been told, and the grandchildren ( except twins), have been informed. Tell the twins later as they can't do anything etc and I can't go get twin1, from Cornwall.
The hospital warned Dad he wouldn't be going on his holiday to France in May!! ( not something to tell my Dad who has a new caravan being delivered on Tuesday! )
Mum is worried, but stayed pretty stalwart. I left her with a coffee, and toast as we didn't get to eat all day. But it's too late to eat heavy meal.
Luckily my friend could pick DGD up for me and look after her till I got back.
My holiday may yet have to be cancelled.
This morning around 8am DS's Gf gave birth by C section to a healthy boy.
So the hospital has the oldest and the youngest of the family to care for tonight.
And tonight I am tired, tearful now I'm out of the hospital, and I need to try and sleep.

Rough night. Woke several times. Been awake about 45 mins now.
Just remembered Social Services are coming to see me at 1.30 about my allowance. Just when I need to go to the hospital with Mum to see my Dad.
So I have to either postpone her ( and risk my allowance being stopped), or delay Mum's visit to see Dad. I think it may be the former, and I will worry about money later. Although I worry about money most of the time. It's been a life long worry!
It was around 1 am before I got to sleep. Weird dreams abound. Not surprising really.
I'm feeling quite jaded this morning. My itching is spreading, and driving me nuts. ( now it is stinging as I grabbed the wrong cream ( without my glasses on I put my face cream instead of E45 on!)
So I need to have a shower, start again.
Eat as all I had yesterday was two hotcross buns, 1/4 value quiche, and a Mars bar!
Then I need to dig out the tax credit forms, arm myself with the relevant number, see if I can send her it in the post, and if not re-arrange the whole lot.
Then I need to get DGD to her holiday Club, get to work. Check what needs doing. Let the dressmaker in. See if she is ok. Keep shop open till 12. Then go and take Mum back to the hospital. Oh and top the water up in the car, try and get it booked into a garage ASAP. Erm what else?
    Keep Calm and Carry On!
Where are those big girls knickers I have? Think I am going to need them today.
Oh and baby weighed 7lb 9 Oz.

Gosh what a huge amount going on for you. So sorry to hear about your dad, none of that must be easy for him to accept. I hope you can get to the hospital today ok. Horrible to have to trade appointments though when both are of importance for different reasons.

    Congratulations on your new arrival.

Firstly, congrats on the new arrival :T.

Hope your dad is ok - worrying time for you all. Passing you some (fortunately virtual ;)) big girls pants.

Congratulations on your new grandson t6211.gif

Hope the hospital can make your dad well enough so he can go on holiday but maybe later in the year.

Remember to eat today, you will be no good for anyone with no energy.

Really sorry to hear about your dad mooloo.
I'm tempted to strongly encourage you to have the finance meeting and get it done. It will delay seeing your dad for a few hrs but then it is over and your dad needs are not going to be short term.
But you are the best judge of what feels the right thing to do.

Tough times Mooloo East, drink plenty of water and take one day at a time, half a day if necessary.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
