Oh yes please Upsidedownbear. I looked to check yesterday and not sure if I can manage without a daily smilie. I do my three things to be grateful for every day on another regular challenge thread but we could do that and gather snippets of joy and help one another when we are feeling down.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0

Another "yes please" upsidedown bear, even better with a smilie now and again:D your smilies have brought me such pleasure and often made me laugh out loud on some of the most miserable dark days of winter. Greying has collected such a lovely, fun and supportive group of people around her and it would be lovely to carry that on in some way while she is so busy with important practical stuff.
I am going to read back through GP's recipes and copy some into a "word" file so that I can find them easily and try out some more. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Good Afternoon :hello:
Well, it's obvious.......YOU LOT ARE ALL LOVELY!
Hopefuljoy - hang on, what about all the fantastic achievements you've done in the past few months? That is all you own hard work and application - nowt to do wif meBesides, I'd still welcome updates on Pirin, and the wedding arrangements (with due deference to DS & FDiL's privacy - natch
) And I'm still waiting for an update on what you had for lunch at the Lebanese restaurant in HT!

Lawks! Now I feel mega guiltyStill, the world hasn't got half enough smilies - especially those distributed freely :money: - go fer it!
Well, today has been a bit of a one...... I came on here first thing - or should I say I tried to, but the computer conspired against me, and I had to disappear. I was beginning to think it was Friday the 13th or summat - a trip to mrAl gave me 2 more reasons to despise the place - *banter* between colleagues that bordered on bullying....And why in front of a customer??? and then they had no aubergines in the S6 - and no explanation why? I asked a member of staff - who was lovely and full of apology - but said they just hadn't turned up in the delivery. So why on earth mrAl couldn't have stuck up a note in explanation..... Still, if the staff member doing the *banter* was - as I possibly suspect - anywhere on the managerial level, I'm not surprised...... The downside was, that I had to hot hoof it all the way to mrL and pick up one for 6p more there! However, that is when the day turned around. At the packing station, I managed to drop my change - I knew I had *lost* 20p - but could I see it????? Anyhow, I'd all but given up, when a young lad, from the local comp, who'd been behind me in the queue pointed and said, 'your 20p is there' - again, I couldn't see it, as I was at the wrong angle and a leg of the bench was in the way - so what did he do? He bent down under the bench and retrieved it for me! HOW KIND WAS THAT??????? :j Huzzah for the majority of super great young people! :j
The day has gone from strength to strength and lots of other good stuff has happened :j Dang - wish I'd bought a lottery ticket too now! :rotfl:
Just a quick update on what we've eaten - I know you like to know....
Cauliflower soup - I used frozen cauli and was a bit worried it would be insipid, so roasted the cauli florets first = winner!
Pumpkin, chickpea and banana curry - last time I used banana in a curry was Jack Monroe's tea and banana curry - and much as I hate to 'dis' Jack, I won't be making that ever againHowever, I will make this curry. I got really, really green bananas - thank you a$da
- and just chucked them in at the end with the heat turned off - they still went quite mushy, so don't think you'll be munching indigestible nar-nar
Spanish Stew - definitely do this one again - it is from the Vegetarian Student cookbook, and it is one they've not put the pages from the book on the internetSo I thought I wouldn't be able to share the recipe...... but MSE to the rescue, as a lovely poster wrote out the recipe on another thread :j Definitely sub the veg - I hadn't any cabbage, so used chopped leeks (frozen) and I put celery in mine too
Also, I am using cream cheese in a dish tonight (mousakka) and so made some labneh (cream cheese using yoghurt - just strain the yoghurt overnight through cheesecloth). The only reason why I've included a pic, is because this is made from the 25p a litre UHT milk I bought - and it worked perfectly fine! I know that there is no reason why it shouldn't - but i'm still stupidly excited by the fact! :rotfl: You can even see the print of the cheesecloth
Anyway, I best get on and put the mousakka components in a dish and pop it into the oven for dinner. Baked tatties and salad as accompaniment. (And yes, it is another veggie student recipe).
Thanks everso for popping in, reading, leaving lovely comments - I'm sure I can't live up to all the nice things you've said about me- and for just being YOU
See y'all around.

Good Morning :hello:
Off out adventurising today - to a home furnishings emporium, in the middle of no where would you believe
Picnic is packed. Flask is filled. We hope to make it back in time to watch the rugger
Mousakka worked well last night - my only query would be the amount of topping versus the amount of mix. I'll see if the recipe is about later.
Have a great day, whatever you are doing
See y'all.
