Thanks for the card tip
Have also found Barnardo's good in the past
Ah that is good to know Beanie - we haven't got a Barnardo's in GreyingTown. However, there was one in the town across the way that I went to last week. It was quite large, and was one of the ones with the decent kiddies section. I also spotted something there that I thought was quite useful - they were selling artificial rose bud corsage's (like you pin to your lapel for a wedding) for 99p each. I know artificial flowers aren't everyone's cup of tea, but they were reasonably lifelike. And sometimes you need something like that - ie if you're meeting a fellow MSE'r for the first time, or if a gaggle of you are going on a day trip out and need to be easily identified, or just if you're popping out down the pub with two thorns................

BeanieLou - if you or a nearby secluded hedge have some honeysuckle still in bloom, that could be fashioned neatly into an attractive corsage. A friend did it very recently for a very MSE celebration and it looked great. Be careful if on light coloured clothing.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Good evening :hello:
Dear reader, if you intend to hoof it on down to your local mrL to fill yer boots with butternut squash (and why would you not?) Please ensure that your local branch is not as bungling as ours, and check that they only charge you 59p PER b/nut squash. NOT as per our branch, 59p PER KILO - which meant that DH paid 79p for ours :mad: And didn't notice until he had left the shop. And didn't want to go back then because refunds take SO LONG to sort out and DH has a life outside of mrL's which involves wanting to spend as much time as possible with Baby Greying
Dear mrL - it says 59p EACH at least twice on your website. Get yer blessed act together.
Humpf!
I saw someone today that has only met me and Baby Greying once - at least 3 months ago. They recognised me and said hello and exchanged plesantries. This is an incredibly busy person, with a very demanding job, who sees 10's of people a day, 100's of people a week, and they recognised me. Wow! And I should add that we were 'out of context' - we met on the stairs in m&$, not in the workplace.
Tea this evening was a buddha bowl, coz that's what I've designated Thursdays asI got some tofu from mrW. And was heartily disappointed at the vast amount of water that came out when I pressed it. I don't think I have ever had so much come out. The block was at least a third smaller
I took the BB in a South African direction. I made brown rice (not specifically SA, but nice to eat), Green bean and tomato bredie - which I can't find the recipe for on the web, but which I suspect i got from Eat well for less by Sarah Flowers and then I topped it with tofu that I had coated with cornmeal which i spiced using the seasonings from bobotie. I did another fresh tomato salsa on the side, using oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper and garam masala. Picture here;
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
acknowledgement - 'hello' and a kind word are so valuable
that the 'near miss' (cyclist giving a backky on the pavement, lost control) was just that, and we were unscathed........
for my clever friend and the fountain of knowledge in each and every e-mail and letter I receive from her.
Thanks for popping in, reading and helping each other out. It's appreciated. Greatly. By me. Ta.

Good morning :hello:
Slow start here at Greying Towers, and yet we've achieved quite alot. Baby Greying has been fed, bathed and clothed. Mumma has been fed, showered and clothed. Papa has been out and about with chores and has done a nappy change (mumma got p00gate this morning _pale_) and Baby Greying came back with all their labels on the outside of their clothes...... how, how does that happen???? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
A load of toot has left the building and gone to the recycling centre :j
We have 3 square inches of floor space that we didn't earlier this morning :rotfl::j
Tea last night was HM Cheese and tommy pizza and oven chips. Picture here;
Tonight's tea will be curry, but not what I had planned, although i will have to ensure that the aubergine doesn't get overlooked. We'll see. It depends how we get on for the rest of the day.
Right, I'd best quit whilst Baby Greying has stopped trying to help me type this momentarily. We'll indulge in some playtime I think
Ta for popping by and reading. Much appreciated.

Good Evening :hello:
I'm sure the days are speeding up!
We spent money today, but got quite a bit for our expenditure. Wish that i had remembered to get some more coconut milk :doh:As I didn't have as much as i thought, and tonight's tea had it as a key ingredient.....
We are nearly a completely LED lightbulb home. We bought some more in h0me barg1ns today. They are quite reasonably priced. Hope they last as long as all the other places that seem to charge 3x as much...... We've GU10's where I am now - I'm basking in *daylight* as I type :cool:
Baby Greying received lots of love and some preloved gifts from a neighbour today. They were given a 'soft' toy, which, I would loved to call 'biffian' - as the welsh-speakers will know what BG did immediately that we started playing with it........... *blub* But I think we'd better stick to *Dyl*, much more alliterative and easier to remember.........
Tea this evening was a *triumph* of utilising the mrL 'Fantastic Four' - well, 2 of their number anywayI made Butternut Squash, Kale & chickpea Massaman Curry. A first for me. But a keeper of a recipe. I did pick through the Kale, removing any stalks and tough leaves (it is ready chopped in the bag), and microwaved it for a minute and a half to steam it, before adding it to the curry. This was because kale can be a worthy eat..... and also because my curry was not as 'liquid' as it should have been. I also microwaved the BNS. I served it with basmati rice. Definitely a keeper of a recipe, although next time I'd like to make it with ordinary chickpeas. These brown chickpeas are proving to be somewhat of a worthy eat. Not too sure a veggie household needs to significantly up its fibre content.........:rotfl: Picture (of me tea, not added fibre
) here;
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
successful decluttering - it's a start
gifts given freely and with love
new lighbulbs making ti eesir to sea wot I am tripe ping
Thanks everso for popping by, reading and supporting me. Mucho appreciated. As ever.

Oh dear Greying - OH begged me not to make a scene!
His words were along the lines of - please try, after 10 years in this country, to be more British - we queue without fussing and overlook errors that might cause embarrassment...
Needless to say I did not buy one as I love him more than mashed BNS with butter & maple syrup - but only just;)
Our mrL had a sign up that said 59p per kg but clearly both the flyer and the website said 59p each & had OH been elsewhere I would have pulled out the proof and insisted they honour it!:D:rotfl:
Moving on from the near trauma of this, next week mrL has 29p specials, loose corn cob (each), red onions (750g), celery (each) and eggplant/aubergine (each)...4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Oh rtandon - I didn't mean to cause a domestic!
But I'm with you, if they advertise it as 'each' then that is not 'per kilo'! And the very fact that their sweetcorn, aubergine and celery, will be 29p 'each', means that normally the pick of the week are a single price - as 'per' mrAl :mad: Blooming swizzle!
