The Compers Inn (part 45)

Good Morning,
Thanks for the welcome backs!
Wet here - been raining all night. Looks like it will be a pretty miserable day. Think tumbler drier will be called upon.
On plus side we are off to Edinburgh area for 3 nights on Sunday and forecast looks nice. We are meeting DS2 and his gf for dinner.
Only one problem, we picked a hotel at N.Queensferry for first night with lovely views of Forth Bridges and they are closing road bridge for through traffic on Sunday! DS says single file traffic is operating so he should be able to get over from his house in S.Queensferry and hopefully we will get to walk over the bridge. We have been wanting to do that for years. Will have bit of a diversion to get to our hotel though.
Hope everyone has a lovely, lucky day.

Hi everyone, hope you are all OK.
Hope you are feeling a bit better today Rose.
I see you are off on your travels Sheils, is this your last trip this year?
Wasn't until I had found todays pic that I realised it was your signature firefly LOL.
Not a nice day here, wet, a big foggy and dreary so off out for a coffee.
Will pop by later, have a lovely day.BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0 -
I was doing a bit of painting in DDs room earlier so it is dry before she gets home. Just did a few bits so hoping that it will look OK as she has so many things on walls and some art of her own on them.
Enjoy your coffee Sylvia. We are meaning to go to The Lakes next month for a few days - prices should be down by then! Got a Premier Inn booked at Whitehaven for one night (£29) and hoping to add a couple of nights somewhere else. Anything else will depend on the weather.
Hope you manage to go for your cobs FF. DH has made some wholemeal bread so looking forward to it.
Are you going to get any gardening done Alfie?Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

I just got a line full of washing out and what looked like lovely blue skies has now turned wet and dark! So got my dryer on now too Sheils!
I love fresh baked cobs too fire**fly, especially with home made soup. I'm making a chicken pie for tea but only using just roll pastry as the kids like that best!
Enjoy your coffee Sylvia and don't let the weather get you down
I love taking my DD1 for a hot Choc with cream & marshmallows in M&S, she really enjoys it.
Have a good day Alfie/Rose/indie
xx
I'm supposed to be sanding down skirting boards and dado rail in spare room but I keep putting it off, I hate sanding!
I would prefer to take dado off wall but DH says it will pull plaster off too. Too much faffing about sanding then painting over it and DD doesn't really want it in her room either! Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
love the pic wingo lol was like that earlier here
mmmm yes, home made soup & fresh bread/cobs
is lovely
nothing wrong with using jus-rol pastry,
I've often used it as well,
good luck with the sanding down,
not a fave job of mine either when we used to do
in the old house,
hope you had a nice time out sylv,
used to love going out for coffee on a rainy day &
the cafe's used to be all steamy & warm inside :dance:please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.

Hi all!
Snap wingo - just spent most of the day sanding down
some kitchen furniture. Worst job ever!!! My mind tends
to wander too, thinking of all the other things I could be
doing! Such as gardening.
Don't know why I didn't go out to do the garden today
cos the weather has been beautiful.
The thing is, once
I've started something I like to finish it as best I can.
Plus I have to have my hoover nearby to quickly hoover
up the dust before the puddy cat thinks about coming
over to have a nose, pads through it and then
proceeds to trot all over the house leaving little puddy
prints!

Have a wonderful time when you go to The Lakes next
month sheils and your trip to Edinburgh! You and your DH
definitely do the most travelling out of all of us.

Gosh im shattered!!
Had lovely day today, went to Mountain View Ranch. Not been before but lots of mums have been talking about it so I thought we'd give it a try. What a lovely place. Lots for the little ones to do. They had a Halloween trail, The witch from 'Room on the Broom' telling her story and we had to follow her through the woods, bushcraft sessions (toasting marshmallows) etc. I think i caught the sun at one point it was lovely. Started to rain just as we left. We then stopped off at Castel Coch and told DD is was Repunzels castle as it looks like a fairy tale castle, her face was a picture when the guide told her that Repunzel was in the hairdressers today and Cinderella was going shoe shopping!!
Husband is now doing bedtime stories and im catching up here.
This half term lark is exhausting, its our first experience of half term and i need to get used to busy places......i hate busy places but half term will be our only holidays now so i need to get used to it.
It sounds like you've all been busy to....sanding, cooking, painting. Hope your all well guys.Let's be happy!!0
