Evening all. Thanks for the pics.
Sheila had a peep at your photos. They are great you both look as though you really enjoyed the trip. You were lucky with the weather.
UK has some great places and if the weather is good it is great.
3 for I have only been as far as Deven never made it to Cornwall as we had too much rain in Deven when our children were young, years ago. I have only been to South Wales and not for some time.
We have been to many places in Scotland on different hols and were usually lucky with the weather. Right up to John a Groats. loved the west coast. We once went to Glasgow and spent all day on the train across Ranock moor right out to Moora ( not sure of spelling) the took ferry to Skye and then train to Inverness. It was absolutely beautiful countryside.
Last year we were up in Derbyshire. GKs wanted to go to Drayton Manor park near Tamworth and then we rented a big house in the Peak District.
We frequently go to Kent which has some very picturesque places.
Alfie I put confers on my landing to protect wool carpet from moths. They are also good for keeping spiders away.
Hope everyone has a lucky week.0 -
Want to go and see Rannoch Moor and Skye leanfun - maybe next year. So many places to see. Have seen that conkers are supposed to keep spiders away. Do you think it really works? Haven't seen any spiders in the house yet, thank goodness.
Forgot to say that DD won second prize in the Rotary Young Chef Comp and won £25 and is through to next round so she was really pleased.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Thanks for link FF - interesting. Usually we get lots of spiders in the house around now but don't seem to have any this year which is strange. DD's friends have all posted pics of large spiders in their houses. Fingers crossed they stay out!Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Well done on the tab win Sylvia :T Fab win
Alfie, I loved the random facts and can't believe I fell for it!
Glad you had a good time in Wales Sheils and hope the car arrives soon!
I had conkers all around every corner of my house last yr fire**fly and we didn't get many spiders than usual. However my sis was on about this yesterday while we were in park and she said she would usually put a slit in the conker first to get the smell out!
The furthest I've been from NE England 3for is down South ... London, Salisbury, Kent ...that way. Would love to travel different places but hubby not a keen traveller!
The Peak District looks stunning Leanfun and that's a place I'd love to go from what friends have shown me. Thanks for the conifers tip, I've never heard that one but hate moths in the house!
I went to a 50th bday party last night. I didn't really fancy going at first but was talked into it and was a good nightIt's a pity we only tend to see all family at parties or funerals!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
Good morning everyone!
Hope you are all well today ... looks like it's going to
be another beautiful weather day.
Yesterday we had a glorious day, with sun and blue
skies!
I was out gardening for most of the day ... had a lovely
time .... just popped back indoors for lunch and a couple
of cups of coffee.
Talking of spiders ..... afraid I had to remove and re-home
some very large critters who had positioned their webs
right across parts of the garden making it impossible for
me to garden without getting a face full of webs and said
spiders. :eek::eek:
:j Well done to your DD sheils for doing so well in the
Rotary Young Chef Comp! Sending good luck wishes to her
for the next round.
wingo - that makes good sense putting a slit in the
conkers! Must admit .... never thought of that. Will give
it a go. :T:T
Hope you all have a brilliant and lucky day ... will
pop by later.

Good Morning,
Just watching the mist over the river - looks a bit spooky but supposed to clear away to a beautiful day.
Thanks for good wishes for DD. Don't expect she will get any further as other areas schools are involved now but she was pleased with the £25! She is off to Edinburgh with a friend for the night, staying at a Travel Lodge in Princes Street so hope it goes well. She slept in so not a great start. I woke her at half six after she went back to sleep after her alarm at 6am. Her boyfriend is in Portugal and her best friend in Lanzarote so she felt she needed a treat especially as her work is closed for a week too. We are taking her to Blackpool next Sunday for 2 nights.
We will be working in garden too probably Alfie - brambles, shrubs and bushes have gone wild this year. Must get last lot of blackberries picked before we try and get rid of them!
Glad you enjoyed the party wingo.
Hope everyone has a lucky day.
