just started raining lightly here but the winds
getting up :eek:
decided to make fish n chips for dinner
in all the years I've been married to DH I can still never
understand why he has to have pickled onions with
fish n chips,
is it a man thing or do you/your DH's/partners have pickled
onions with them as well ?

Oh I didn't think there were many mozzies over here in this country Alfie! Be careful in the garden. They seem to be attracted to scent too, I remember my friend used to spray half a bottle on holiday and she got bitten the most!

Went to a park in redcar today with bro, SIL, sis & all our kids then went to wetherspoons for a meal. I think we are going to South Shields tomorrow as they have Ocean Beach theme park there too. It's been lovely weather today compared to yesterday.

Good morning Inners!

Hope you are all well on this cloudy start to Thursday.

We ended up yesterday getting the rain. It gave the garden
a good drenching - still cloudy this morning but hoping it
will stay dry so I can carry on with my [STRIKE]hacking[/STRIKE]
pruning mission in the garden.

Can see a glimmer of light over yonder so hoping that's a good sign! :cool:

Lol wingo! Think all the mozzies homed into my garden - or
so it seems :eek: Never have scent on me when I'm out
gardening cos it seems to attract the wasps .... another
creature Alfie dislikes intensely! :eek:

Still, with the rain keeping me in, I managed to catch
up with the ironing and household stuff - so something good
came out of it.

Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday with the family,
hope the weather stays fine for you today with your trip
to South Shields.

I have heard of people eating pickled eggs and pickled onions
with their fish and chips! Never done it myself though! One thing
I don't understand is the fondness of having mushy peas with
them. :eek: I love normal peas but the mushy peas
are awful things, all green and errrm mushy. :eek: :p

Hi everyone, its not raining here yet but think it will soon.

Glad you managed to catch up on your housefold jobs Alfie.

I also love pickled onions with fish and chips firefly although these days I prefer the sweet silver skinned ones. Went right off the big onces when I was expecting.
