Haven't tried the postals firefly as its and expense we can't really afford on the pension so will just keep plugging away.

Well done on the weight loss Sheils, I have been really trying for a couple of months by cutting right down on the carbs etc but have only lost a lb and then put it on again while Sister was here.

Well done on your win Indie you are certainly doing good this week.

I expect you will be glad finish school tomorrow Wingo.

Have been making curtain all afternoon so need to get cracking with the comps.

Thanks wingo but definitely need to lose weight! Want to fit into holiday clothes I already have and they are too tight. Hope you enjoy the holidays.


Glad your cat is OK Alf and you got hair trimmed. I booked appointment today but not going until 6th Aug as so much on. DH has one booked then too.

Most of the ironing done - just a few T-shirts to do. Not doing anymore ironing Alfie!!

I worked in a sewing factory for 14 yrs and I really hate sewing! I enjoyed working with the girls though, we had a great laugh! We made knickers, kids underwear and negligees. I miss buying the cheap underwear though!
I would sooner buy curtains than make them myself nowadays.
Are the curtains for your DD's new house Sylvia?

Sheils, I'm up and down with my weight too but I don't let it bother me anymore. (Maybe next yr I will when we go abroad! ) Sometimes DH has the odd dig at me for putting a couple of pounds on. Last week we stopped off at subway and he seriously asked me if I just wanted a salad! I would have flung it at him if he just bought me a salad!

Good on you fire**fly for getting all the mags done! :A I haven't done postals for ages but might well start again.

The school holidays have barely started and son is already pestering me to have friends sleeping over! It would be nice to just have a normal family house for a change!

Hope you are all well on this wonderful start to Friday.

Had glorious storm late yesterday evening - first one here
of the summer!

Could hear distant rumblings of thunder and then the rain
came down - very heavy plus thunder and lightning ended
up right above my abode. The rain went on for some time.

Looking fresh, bright, dry n' breezy out this morning and
plants have perked up considerably. Perfect for me doing
any outside activities. :T:T:T

Just how I like it too, rainy through the night and dry through
the day!

Still strange weather though! :eek:

Yippee - the rain dance worked for me eventually!

Just off out in a mo to inspect the [STRIKE]estate[/STRIKE] errrm
garden - just to make sure everything is ok.

Happy gardening Alfie! I do love a nice Summer storm (as long as I can watch it from indoors!) . I am sitting in our old home waiting for the electric meter man. We having been moving back in with my parents this week so it has been very busy.

Been raining here too (just for change!)


Makes me glad my kids are grown up wingo - used to get fed up with sleep overs. DD quite often has a friend staying nowadays when they have been out somewhere so that her friend doesn't waken her family going in. Obviously doesn't matter about DH and me getting wakened! TBH they are always quiet and it isn't a problem. Her friend often stays when we are away too. The older you get the harder it is to lose weight I'm afraid. Only 7 weeks until Menorca so have left it late so might need to buy some new shorts. Got so many pairs that are tight and a new pair still in wrapper so reluctant to buy more,

I'm just not getting enough comps done these days either that or it isn't my lucky year.

Morning, raining all night but suns out now.There must have been thunder in the distance last night as dog wouldn't settle and got up with him at 1.30. He finally settled at 3ish.I have the dentist this morning, if they don't cancel again. Hope everyone has a lucky day.
