Morning everyone- hope today is better than yesterday (and not as good as tomorrow as they say!).
Mrs G- I've got images of your dog striking a pose and whistling some sultry 'come and get me boys' song in my head (dunno what song would sound sultry when whistled but you know what I mean!).
Peppapig- I know how THAT story goes- see chocolate deal- stock up- eat it all- buy more- eat it- buy more-eat it.......................!! Now it all goes on top of my wardrobe as soon as I buy it so that I cant get to it easily and the others don't know its there- its the only way chocolate is safe in our house!
Freespirit- the vibes have not reached here yet- she is in a LOT of pain at the mo. As predicted, it didn't go smoothly and had to be drilled out of her jaw cus it had fused. She wanted me to go in with her this time (in Feb she braved it herself) so I sat on a chair at the end of the treatment chair and could see it all. She was so brave, more so than I would have been. Shes such an independent thing, she wouldn't let on how much it was bothering her, but I could see her crying in the rear view mirror on the way home. This morning she look like she has gone 15 rounds with Mike Tyson followed by a make up session for a zombie movie! Black and blue are definitely NOT her colours! She is talking like Marlon Brando in the Godfather and worst of it all she has a presentation at Uni tomorrow that she cant get out of as its part of her assessment.
On a Christmas note, I ordered two Ciate advent calendars for my sister and sons GF, so that's 2 off the list. Also some leather gloves for DS and DD's BF.
Its DS's birthday next Sunday but he is away so we agreed that he would have an early birthday on Mothering Sunday. He asked for red velvet cake, so there are now 3 frozen layers for me to defrost and cover on sunday. I ordered some rice paper star wars toppers for the side of the cake from ebay- which I thought were pre cut but aren't, so that's another fiddly job for me to do when he isn't around. He will be 25 but he loves Star Wars ( I have such a geeky family lol)
Ladies put your minds at rest re wisdom teeth- the dentist said they make an appearance between the ages of 17 and 26 in women, a little later in men. If they aint down by the time you're 30 then I think they aint gonna show and your safe! (DD's been rumbling since she was 13).
Enjoy your day xlovin' this site!

sorry, l have skim read the posts, as the d
t word freaks me out, so not sure of who , is it DD, Murie? if so , hope she is better soon.
Took DD to see the neurologist yesterday, even that was an hours drive away!, it transpires that her problem is that 2 discs are bulging or prolapsed, causing 2 separate problems, and pain. She has been referred to the surgeons for further opinion.
Her DH has been put on morphine which has helped the pain, but made him dopey, so he sleeps more.
I have been trying to crochet, l can do the stitches but reading the patterns is so difficult, especially as l am left handed so need to reverse the instructions.
I know what you mean about the chocolate eggs, why is that chocolate so much nicer than the bar of same make?0 -
Mrsinvisible, try watching people crocheting on YouTube tutorials they naturally reverse it for you by doing to into the camera. I'm a lefty and can manage granny squares and basic stuff but surprised myself by making a twirly scarf and hearts and flowers while watching youtubeSPC~12 ot 124

Evening everyone, i have had the little man today, all day as DD2 went into work for a catch up day, bless her she felt on the verge of tears and then when she rang her OH they finally came when she said how much she had missed him
she has agreed to start back properly on June 1st but will use her AL one day a week until October so she can work 4 days a week. While he was fast asleep on me i dozed off :rotfl:i was so tired at one point! But he was as good as gold for me.
MURIE oh your poor DD and what she must have gone through, i dont know how you sat in there, mind you we can do it for our kids cant we, we find this inner strength for them out of nowhere. Bless her for trying to not show how much pain she was in, i hope they have given her some good pain relief, how the heck she will do a presentation feeling like that i dont know.
Funnily enough DS came home with a red velvet cake for pudding tonight
MRSINVISIBLE oh no your poor DD as if she hasnt got enough to worry about without being in pain, i hope she hears back quickly from the surgeons, it sounds as though DSIL is in considerate pain to be put on morphine, thinking of you all, hope DGS is coping. I think it is because when you eat easter eggs you feel like a kid again, there is nothing like the first crack of a whole chocolate egg :rotfl::rotfl:well thats my excuse and im sticking to it#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -

Thankyou all for the kind words
.
I am the complete opposite regarding Easter Eggs can't stand them give me a normal chocolate bar any day! I find shaped hollow chocolate tastes dustythat is most probably just me though. Last couple of years I've had chocoblok egg shaped slabs instead. Though we don't really do easter eggs any more, not because we are far too old for them but because of my not liking them, we tend to get presents instead. Our cats were easter eggs
lol.
I've taken on an extra Avon round from the lady who did my village, which is fab it's like doubling my earnings every month, but, it's all my grans friends, so I'm feeling a bit iffy about itx
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Afternoon everyone:hello: Haven't been on here in ages. Have been too busy in work to have proper time to pop in for a chat, but it was worth all the hard work in the end:T That and I've been that exhausted with work I've been having a nap very evening after dinner:eek: I NEVER nap so I must have needed it.
Hope everyone is well. Will go have a read back in a minute.
I'm off work for a few days along with the children for St.Patrick's Day. Schools were closed today because of a strike, I can't afford to lose a days wage to go on strike so I had to go in to work as usual:( Wasn't too bad though as got ahead in my work for next 2 weeks, and the boss let us come home early:T
Kids aren't back home yet as their granny was minding them today, and they're out to the local park and feeding the swans/ducks so gives me time to have a nice cuppa, and catch up here.
Will also go and have a rummage through some drawers and floors of rooms see if there's anything that can go out to the Charity Bag that came round this morning. They take everything including books and bric-a-brac so I like that one:rotfl: It's a nice day too so will leave the windows open to give the rooms a good air.
On the Christmas front nothing much going on there. Got the Pink 3DS that I was really wanting so that's the worry off. Ordered a few stocking fillers off the Studio Book and amazon, so they've been stashed away too.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
I know it isn't Christmassy but RIP Terry Pratchett.
Well the Easter egg saga continues because when I went to the supermarket to get the rest of the eggs and replace the three we ate they didn't have any Thomas the Tank Engine ones left. Not one. Bought all the others I needed but two littlest DGSs are now eggless - hoping they get more in next week. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Mrs Moneypenny, yes, l used to do that in school, for practical things like needlework and woodwork, but l must admit l have never watched anything on u-tube, l will investigate, as there is alimit in what you can achieve with granny squares. l want to make a nice pram blanket for fave niece. She knows l am knitting her a Shetland shawl, (the ones you can pass through your wedding ring--allegedly)
Freespirit, thanks for the kind words and the encouragement they bring.
Irish Rose12, nice to see you, glad that work is good, and yes, nap when you need to.
Had a lovely treat yesterday, my lovely beauty therapist friend gave me a facial and a back massage instead of a mothers day gift. (she calls me 'mammy2' ).
I have the house to myself today, will l use this time productively? l ask myself, or will l waste it on housework?0 -
MrsInvis your poor Dd and SIL, life is so blooming unfair at times
big hugs all round.
In the feisty house, the sale is progressing well, but we still haven't found anywhere. We've viewed to shared ownership houses, the first went before we could register our interest and the second only has 72 years on the lease and HA won't give us a straight answer as to how much it will be to extendwe've started looking further afield again, but I'm not sure that it's so wise with poor DH being so isolated. The legal jargon and paper work for selling is already driving me potty
the panic attacks have started again due to stress and as we are supposed to be starting our IVF in the next few weeks , I'm worried how the stress is going to impact on our chance of success.
