Yumm Mrs MP, might give that a whirl at the weekend.
PK time to look after you is needed, hope the meds sort it out, and if Mr PK can be at home as well, wiggle will continue to thrive.
Feisty, you have coped so well with so much, you won't let this latest hiccup become a problem, l am sure you will hear from the occupant soon.
well, the I household is still trying to come to terms with DSILs diagnosis, but its a toughie.
I am invited to an old friends 50th birthday bash next weekend, and l need ideas for a suitable present for her, l tried the 50 reasons why you are special, but ran out at 23, oops!lol. and someone else is doing the half a ton thing with compost!
I might make a hamper of things that are her age, what was topical in 1965? l will look about and try that. (who was that fellow who wrote/sang about the summer of 65 l will try to get her a copy of the song)
    play nice, everyone xxx

I think that's a lovely idea MrsI but wasn't the song about the Summer of '69?

Looked up 1965 on Google and this link was quite useful

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1965_in_the_United_Kingdom

    Some of the things were:

    Churchill died
Ian Brady and Myra Hindley were charged with murder (although you might not want to commemorate that on your friend's birthday)
Capital punishment for murder was abolished initially for 5 years (but again you might not want to commemorate that)
The Race Relations Act outlaws racial discrimination in public
    70mph speed limit introduced
BP struck oil in the North Sea
The f word was spoken for the first time on British TV
Mary Whitehouse formed the National Viewers and Listeners Association
The CSE was introduced as the school leaving exam
Mary Quant introduced the mini skirt
Asda opened its first supermarket in Yorkshire
Ian Fleming's Bond novel, The Man with the Golden Gun was published
Agatha Christie's At Bertram's Hotel was published

There are also links on that page to music in 1965 and I think films etc so I'm sure you could eventually find 50 things that are also 50 this year.

Mrs M that cakes sound fabulous - I wish I wasn't useless at baking. Might see if DH fancies giving it a go.

Princess Kitty, thanks for the kind words. Have been over there this afternoon just to take the pressure off a bit. They're all going to Thomas Land tomorrow (DGS who's 3 is Thomas mad) so hoping it does them all good.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

    Hi there everyone

    Nothing much to report here.

Sorry to read that everyone seems to be poorly at the moment. Look after yourself. :)

I'm glad it is the weekend again - a chance to recharge the batteries!

To be honest I'm glad the human body doesn't have batteries - it would just be another thing that doesn't work properly :rotfl: With my luck I'd have run out of power years ago!

    Enjoy the weekend :)

MURIE oh glad you saw your birthday wishes and hope you are well, I havent spoke to NANAMIA for a few weeks but the last we spoke she was fine and busy decluttering a la Marie Kondo, i havent heard anything from BABYBOO since her husband was taken ill. Aww thankyou my lovely, that is probably because i havent got a life :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

PEPPAPIG aww your poor DD its so hard not getting enough sleep and especially when you already have a toddler so you cant take naps when the baby does. Hopefully she can have a nap while you are there to entertain older DGS. What a lovely thing for you to do for MRSINVISIBLE look up all those facts, they are fab :)

FEISTY glad you have an offer on the flat finally, hope you get an answer from the owners of the shared ownership soon

MRSMONEYPENNY thankyou for the recipe have put it into my favourites

MRSINVISIBLE sending love and hugs to you and your family, i have to confess to giggling over the Summer of 65 song you were referring to, i am renowned in our family for getting song lyrics wrong and i thought oh no not another song i have been singing wrong all these years, until PEPPAPIG pointed out it was 69 :rotfl::rotfl:

3FORHOLIDAYS To be honest I'm glad the human body doesn't have batteries - it would just be another thing that doesn't work properly :rotfl: With my luck I'd have run out of power years ago!

Not if you ran on DURACELL batteries :rotfl::rotfl:TBH so would i have run out of power a long time ago :rotfl:

Thanks mrsinvisble. I'm sure the news is very difficult to come to terms with for everyone. It was good to hear your DD had a Macmillan nurse visiting, did they help at all? The 1965 hamper sounds like a great idea, i'm afraid i'm not very good with coming up with ideas - I have to get inspiration from places like Pinterest! But it sounds like you already have a good idea.

Peppapig oh wow they will love Thomas land!! To be honest i'm looking forward to doing things like that, although my son is called Thomas so he might wonder why there's a whole theme park named after him! :p

freespirit glad the recipes went well. Did you find the bacon cheeseburger recipe on Pinterest? I have a feeling I've got something like that on my 'Food' board but if not I will look it up as it sounds yummy!

3forholidays your batteries comment made me chuckle! :rotfl:

Well I had a good day of rest yesterday as DH looked after wiggle, it was quite strange having a rest as I haven't had any rest since he was born! But i'm very glad of it as I just feel like I've got the flu. It was hard to relax though as wiggle is teething and was really grumpy so I felt for poor DH, I know how difficult it is all day long when you've got a grumpy baby on your hands!

Oh my goodness mrs-moneypenny you were top of my list to reply to - not sure how I missed it! I was obviously too distracted drooling over the Malteser cake! THANK YOU so much for posting the recipe, it sounds delicious! And it makes me very happy that it is so quick and easy to make, quick and easy is what I need at the moment. I will definitely be making this when I am better. Thank you again for taking the time to post it. xx

mrs-moneypenny if you happen to find the recipe out that would be great, but I don't want you to go to any trouble over it. x

freespirit glad DS is on the mend, I hope you are too after that nasty sounding headache. Your recipes sound amazing - or YUMazing as someone once said to me!

feisty i'm so pleased to hear you've got a good offer on your place, that is one hurdle over. I do hope the owners respond to you soon, it's so hard when you're reliant on other people. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.

murie yes we have quite a good routine here now which makes life a lot easier!

Peppapig your poor DD. Teething is so difficult, my LO is 7 months and is now getting hot red cheeks and pulling on his ears so they're definitely bothering him. He hasn't been too bad at night, he will wake up a few times (but always has so this isn't unusual) but i'm sure soon it will get a whole lot worse! You will be a saving grace for your daughter, there is nothing better than a little help when you're sleep deprived. Unfortunately we don't live near either set of parents, some days I would love to pop round my mums for a cup of tea whilst she has a cuddle with DS.

Well I now have mastitis, it came on really quickly late yesterday afternoon/evening. I always knew it was a painful condition but didn't realise it made you feel quite so awful, I feel like I've got the flu. Been to the doctors and got some medication so i'm hoping to feel a bit better in the next couple of days. DH is taking today off work to look after wiggle so hopefully I can get some rest.

Gentle hugs to you. It may be an old wives tale, but a cousin of mine swears by cabbage leaves in the bra to help with the mastitis symptoms?..

Sorry you are feeling so poorly princesskitty, I agree cabbage leaves are supposed to be brilliant as they are said to help, isnt the advice to also carry on feeding as that supposed to help as well? Bearing in mind my youngest is 15 next month I'm a bit out of touch with things Like that now. But hugs and get well vibes for you.
