FeistyFidget - I hope your second visit to the hotel was a better one
msgigglewick I too would love to see a link to your etsy shopand good luck
It's been a slow but steady one for me so definitely worth it x
I've been in a bit of a funk...week of awesome bits, and pants bits.... so joined a gym... I don't get it either... lol xxI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Mrsg - pleased to hear your mum has a diagnosis, but sorry at the same time (iykwim). I hope she recovers well and it doesn't hold her back x
Irishrose - my brother & I were 14 & 10 when our parents had finally saved enough to take us to Florida. They didn't tell us a thing, they packed & loaded the car in secret whilst we were at school, picked us up & told us we had to go and pick up one of mums friends from the airport.
When we arrived at Heathrow, dad handed us both a pair of mickey mouse ears!!!
It truly is the holiday of a lifetime, I would love to go back with my own dd's but we have had to resign ourselves to the fact that it just isn't going to happen :-(
Freespirit- love the goals! I think I may need to set myself some, especially regarding Pinterest & de-cluttering!
Chrissyg- brrrr I feel for you tonight. Wrap up, and I hope all is fixed/better very soon x
£land have lots of frozen bits in atm. Spent £7 and have enough to make up a nice little hamper for my neice, so that's another Xmas gift done.
Placed my monthly amazon order, few moshi bits (70% off!), death note DVD & book for dd1 anime hamper (both reduced by 40%), and a Goldilocks dress up outfit for dd2 world book day. It was only £7.95, I don't think I could make one for less! It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -

IRISHROSE you reminded me of when we took our kids to Lapland, we booked it for christmas day without telling them, then we woke them up very early and said Father Christmas had had a problem bringing their stocking so had invited them to his house to see him, they were sooooooo excited i can still see their facesthen while they were getting in the car i put their stockings on their beds and when we got home they thought it was magic that Father Christmas had brought their stockings anyway, so i think it will be more magical surprising them on christmas day with the news
princesskitty29 wrote: »IrishRose how exciting saving for Florida, it always makes things so special when you've had to save hard for them. I did have a look in my Tesco for the pink DS you talked about when you mentioned it but they weren't reduced.pinknfluffy28 wrote: »Irishrose - my brother & I were 14 & 10 when our parents had finally saved enough to take us to Florida. Once its booked I'll look into getting one of those pre-pay cash card things and put £10 a week onto it until we go, so it;ll be another bit of saving money saved up
Never say never pinknfluffy as we said it as did my neighbours and they were worse off than us. None of us have ever been to America so this is a first for all of us adults and all. I never thought I would be able to afford to go, and we've made it, so keep that idea alight, you never know what will happen in the future;):)Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
Chrissy, thanks for the link to the marriage allowance page - I've just been over and registered. DD's vomiting problem sounds horrible (my worst nightmare actually) so really hoping the drugs work long term. Hope the hot water gets sorted out very soon too - why do these things always happen just when you really need hot water and heat! Good luck at the dentist tomorrow - will be thinking of you.
MrsG, that's really good news - 1000 likes in that short time is amazing (though well deserved of course). Hope your Mum can cope ok with her Meniere's. I used to work with someone who suffered quite badly with it although fortunately not too often.
JJ, sounds like your friends/family have produced some amazing presents already. Hope the journey home isn't too uncomfortable.
Freespirit, you're very organised with your goals for the year - sorry you're having a tough time with the anxiety at the moment.
Had a bit of a tummy bug this week which is pretty soon after the last one. The only thing in common both times was that I'd had some ham. I've always eaten ham though - could I have just developed a sensitivity to it? It's probably something completely different it's just so unusual for me to have upset stomach issues. Had DGD here too but fortunately still managed to have a lovely few days with her.
Sitting with DGSs tomorrow as DD has an assessment at the local college to do the access to health course - she wants to do her nursing training. She's been an HCA before and it's something she's definitely good at so hoping it all goes well for her. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Evening everyone, it has felt like christmas day here, had all the kids, DD2s OH, and the little man for sunday lunch today and channel 5 were showing 80s films, so a bit of cheesyness on tv haha

MRSINVISIBLE how are you feeling?
PIXTOTTS good luck at the gym, hope you enjoy it
PINKNFLUFFY oh you must have been so excited at the airportyou never know, when DS was 14 he had a lump on his neck and had a biopsy and then had to have it operated on and cut out, thankfully it wasnt cancerous but it was a scary time, we said we would take them on a lovely holiday to cheer him up and he chose disney in florida, me and my exH had been before we had kids, i worried about how long it would take to save up and then out of the blue i won a competition on the radio i had to answer 10 questions in 1 minute and i won £1000 :rotfl:we put it straight into the holiday pot, it helped massively!!!
PEPPAPIG aww thankyou, im sorry you have been unwell, its weird that both times you had eaten ham??? Good luck to DD for her assessment tomorrow#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
mrsinvisible my New Year's resolutions usually go by the way-side too, so i'm trying to do something quantifiable this year!
pixtotts I hope the gym works for you!
pinknfluffy what an amazing way to take kids to Florida, you must have been so excited! I would love to do that. As the others said never say never, you never know where life will take you.
IrishRose we went on honeymoon to the US and took one of those pre-paid cards, they are really useful and easy to use.
Peppapig sorry to hear you've had a tummy bug.How strange both times were after eating ham. I hope your daughters assessment goes well today, I did an access course a few years ago and really enjoyed it.
freespirit Collect+ is a scheme that's run in many local corner shops. You go on the website and assess the size/weight of the package and pay online, print out a postage label then take it to your local participating shop. A lot of big stores use it too as a way for people to return items they've bought online:

I'm actually a recipe behind on my 'cook one a week' challenge so i'm going to make two this week. They are 'Cheesy Chilli' from Nigella Kitchen (sounds YUM!) and 'Minced Meat Plate Pie' from the Hairy Bikers' Mums Know Best. They both involve mince so i'll make them at opposite ends of the week!0 -
Good Morning
Sorry I have been AWOL for a couple of weeks, I have been so busy that even my housework was behind but I managed to catch up pretty much yesterday so i'm baaackk
I have not read back yet, I admit now I may skim read parts but in the meantime smiles and hugs to everyone...and i'll be back once I have caught up!!
xChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Princesskitty – The offer to send me the stamp is lovely thank you
I would be delighted to utilise it and am happy to post it back to you after.
Freespirit – I think I need to adapt the Kon Mari method, our house needs lots of decluttering.
JJ – I am sending you very big hugs and hope that better luck follows soon. Aww such wonderful friends you have
Pixtotts – Some people are so insensitive on ebay!
MrsI – Hugs to you and your family during this worrying time.
Kiwi13 – The scrabble board frame is beautiful!!!
Msgigglewick – Those jars with eggs and jelly beans are amazing!!! I am going to pin the picture so I don’t forget as the mini eggs would be good for OH. I really do hope that March is better for you and your family!!!
Feisty – Do not use google, sometimes it comes up with good things but 9/10 it comes up with worst case scenario and information which isn’t always true!! I have my fingers crossed for you. Hope you enjoyed your meal at the Marriott.
OK I think I have caught up and I know I have missed people so I do apologise
I made the chicken tikka masala from the Jamie Comfort Foods book on Friday night, it was nice but I ate so much my stomach blew out as if I was 6 months gone :rotfl:
Work is beginning to slow off with orders and things but the past few weeks have been hectic. I am now just doing what comes in and getting things ready in the new system for when the head office take over from us in time for June when we all leave.
I got my tiara, shoes and bra cups (that are being sewn in to my dress) on Friday :j I had a trip with my mum to a town I had seen some bridesmaid dresses but they had gone so I will be taking them all to Debenhams and the Intu centre to see what is there (although I have seen a nice dress in Debenhams for under £100!)
Next thing I do need to sort is suits, hogroast at night (OH is meant to be ringing next week), our wedding rings and the invitations.
Can't quite believe we are nearly in March, time is going so fast and our Wedding is going to be here before I know it!!:D:DChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

freespirit66 - The gym was surprisingly good actually wonder how long it will last... don't laugh... but my bottom hurts today! haha, not looking forward to my induction and program this afternoon thinking ouchy. How lucky are you it feeling like Christmas day! Sounds lovely
Sundays I guess are the closest thing we get the rest of the year... lol.
princesskitty29 - I love the hairy bikers recipies!! and chilli is always good, let us know how you get on
newthrift - Wow you sound like you've been so busy!! So exciting. Debenhams do have some lovely dresses in! I have been realising how expensive weddings are, not just for those getting married but guests too!! I've just paid for a hen do I'm going to in April... If the other one is same price once I've got a new dress too I reckon I'm going to have spent over £300 on going to weddings, and they are local ones! Very exciting though
Did I mention in here that my friends announced their engagement in The Times and the Telegraph last week! EEEE!!:j I think that is going to be one fancy wedding
mrs-moneypenny - hope your feeling better soon! x
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
