Feisty, I do hope your DH is able to keep his ESA or qualify for something to replace it - he's already dealing with enough with his ill health without having to worry about the money side of things.

Oh Mrs I what a disappointment for you - so glad you're at least able to Skype and see them for holidays. Hope you had a fab time with fave cous.

Great news Chrissy, not only will your DD earn a few pounds but her views will be taken into account in the appointment.

Betsie you're really steaming ahead - at this rate you'll be done before the summer :D

Nic, hope all goes well with the CAB and they're able to offer lots of practical help and advice.

Newthrift, glad you were able to get your date - full steam ahead with the preparations now :j

Although I took the tree and main decs down the day after Boxing day (as I usually do) I left the outside lights up until today so had to nip out in between downpours to get them down. Now the last bit of Christmas has gone I'm feeling a bit sad :( - it's so long until we do it all again. Will try to look on the bright side though, Spring is on its way :)
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Yaay subscribe worked, thanks mrs mp. Wide awake and worried about ds2 and his interview/medical with atos this morning, hot chocolate and digestive biscuits even arent helping. I know worrying is unproductive and won,t change anything, but l still do it.
fave cous has got a date for the op on her shoulder, end of the month, that is good news, as she has been off work for a full term now.
dgs went back to school yesterday, so he stayed last night and is fast asleep.
where is that bl**dy sleep fairy? . She isnt working hard enough.
hope everyone else in the wonderland is asleep and well, xxxx
  • Betsie you're so organised! I have bought some bits but haven't wrapped them, I would so forget what they were! :p

mrsinvisible sorry to hear that about your grandnibs, how disappointing for you. Still, more exotic trips to China for you! I hope you managed to get some sleep in the end.

freespirit what great bargains! That's what I love about this thread, it really spurs me on to look for good deals.

Well all of the decorations are off of the tree but it's still standing in our living room, we didn't have time to do anything about it yesterday. I think we're going to have to chop branches off to get it outside!! I also forgot to get the decoration off of the front door, must do that this morning before people think we celebrate Christmas all year round!

I've decided that my new year's resolution is to win the Lotto

Back to work today after 2 and a half weeks off and I'm not even there yet and I don't like it:(

I'm so not meant to work from silly o'clock in the morning:o

Morning everyone :) Hope you all have a good day.

  • Well, I have finally done a catchup! Hugs for those who need them, all the carp can be disposed of at beginning of year to make for a good balance of year. Hope all of those who had new additions to the family had a blast at the awe & wonderment in their eyes.

Great to see new posters and "old" ones returning, the more madness the better!

Have made my first purchase for this Christmas, now need to go through what I already have and generate lists.

Was very lucky when travelling to & from home, only had rain from the hotel in Dublin to the port on the way back, 20 mins, other than that, dry, have done the whole journey in the rain before, 500 miles ew in rain is not good news. Weather was generally very good, one night -6, NYD pouring rain, so can't really complain.

Back to work Monday, day was fine, yesterday dragged, this morning my befuddled brain decided that the radio djs had swapped programs, then realised I actually hadn't heard the alarm go off, nothing like oversleeping to get the body into gear!
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Morning. Dd2 isn't feeling well so is off nursery. Snuggles on the couch are the answer I think. Means I can't get to the CAb until Friday now. Means I have more time to organsise what I need to take with me, I was only half done and wasnt sure what I needed.

I'm hoping dd will have a nap and I can get back into my workroom and get painting new stock for the year ahead.
I'd like to start a blog too. Something to do on the nights I'm not running after dd1 and her dancing. Fed up just watching tv. And it's too dark to craft. I have been knitting now and again too, but my fingers go numb quickly.
Does anyone have any experience on setting up a good blog? I see so many well run american ones. Nice bright pics etc. I tried a craft blog before and it looked rubbish. Any advice would be appreciated x

princesskitty29 - in the past we've taken the branches off our tree and taken it out a branch at a time lol. Failing that bottoms first ;)

    - I've also become a fan of brown paper and ribbons wrapping! Or just ribbons... looove ribbons... haha

nic2075 - re. blog - just do it, practice is the best way. If you go on pinterest and just search blog tips there are loads of handy things come up :) .There is also a lady shes american, has written books and runs a blog about blogging, she is also a graphic designer, I can't remember her name! it's really frustrating! I will scour my emails while I'm waiting at the eye hospital later (not for me my uncle is still having treatment for the piece of metal he got in his eye last April! It's lazer surgery today and I'm taxi...) and let you know :) . Remember to share it with us ;) x
That's one of my goals for this year actually is to start posting on my blog again. :/

I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

I have had a lie in !!! not earth shattering exciting but any of you who are carers know that's as rare as rocking horse s**t , I did get up in a bit of a panic as DD needs her meds at 7am but hubby had given her them.

I'm just having a cuppa then taking the dog [who is still in bed] out.
