Afternoon everyone, i got my ocado shop delivered, it was just all christmas bits that were on offers which finished today that is why i ordered so early, isnt it funny how it looks a lot on a shopping list online but in RL not the same :rotfl:anyway all advent calendars bought now, more stocking chocs put in the rightful owners bags, christmas dinner bits put away in freezer, and the rest all put in christmas cupboard, some more crisps, pretzels, lebkuchen, stuffing, flavoured shortbread (lavender/coffee) mmm nearly opened one this afternoon :o and my trifle bits, so have just updated my christmas planner with that lot! I just have this urge to get all the little bits tied up and sorted, i dont know why??

ELLIE it was Candy Corn, i have a Witches Brew tart burning now as i finished off my Cassis last night. Yes i wanted to wait as long as i could towards november too! Mind you i bet you would rather pay the extra than deal with a man with manflu :rotfl:
:rotfl:I did used to decorate when the kids were young but only on the day, but since RUTHHONEY said about her deccies and i told DD1, i am now sitting in a room entirely decked out for halloween :rotfl:but i havent done for years!

JJ oh sorry yesterday was so bad for you honey, it sounded awful! I hope today is a better day. I havent heard about those candles but i am going to look them up heehee! Aww so you are going to be an aunty for christmas then, how exciting for you!

LINZ i know and i feel awful because i said i wouldnt bother they wont do anything its just a cough  i didnt even think it was that bad, although you could feel how chesty he was when holding him, so in future my mouth will be firmly taped shut over medical advice :o

    Hi,

Just checking in quickly to say I'm back from my hols and did so much that I'm more tired than I was to begin with. Missed so much on here since I left so just read last few posts and hope to follow / catch up from now on.

Didn't manage to do anything Christmassy while I was away so will have to catch up!

Hi everyone, just popping on quickly to say that BHS has a good sale on at the moment with 24% off everything on their website. There is no code, it automatically takes it off at the checkout. I've ordered a Christmas bathmat and hand towels so it can be Christmassy in every room :rotfl::rotfl:.

Hi all sorry I have not checked in for a while. Been doing a christmas blitz and still not finished!
Determined not to but another preent or christmas related item until I have checked everything I have already bought.

Was trudging through carrier bags today and found a huge brown box that I got in August from a well known supermarket by way of an internet order. I had complained about some service and was credited an evoucher so I bought the Yankee candle sampler set for £6. The box was huge when I went to collect the order but I wedged it in a carrier bag and forgot about it. Today I opened it to find another box, which I opened to find 4 boxes of 6 Yankee candles!!
4 BOXES!! So due to time that i have had them the said supermarket were not interested in their mistake so I now have a set of Yankee candles for my own santa stocking and a set for my mum, best friend and step mum!!

JJ hope you feel better soon, pain is horrid to deal with. Now the weather has changed my nerve pain in my back/leg is horrendous.
dumpling thanks for the heads up on BHS. Will have a look shortly
Freespirit You sound super organised with your christmas shop. I too just want to get everything bought, wrapped and organised and then I can just relax and enjoy.

I picked the dad elf pyjamas today at HB to match the ones I got for my daughter. Me and the son (13 on saturday) are having matching elf ones from somewhere else as his size from HB would also stated daddy elf, not a good look!!
Big christmassy hugs to all that need them and christmas sprinkles to all the christmas organised savers xx
    SOrry for long post

Wow how lucky is that! : )

I have to start thinking of ideas for my Dad for Christmas, he is so hard to buy for : ( If anybody has any suggestions let me know, I'm sure between all you lovely people there will be a few good ideas that I could get for him.
  • Good evening everyone, I hope you are all well, healthy, and not over spending (too much!).

I have absoloutly no hope of catching up, we have been without internet for almost a month, and this thread is flying, so forgive me for anything important I may have missed.

The good news is... We are in our new home!!! :j:j:j:

We are so happy, the whole close are very friendly, most have been here all their adult lives, a few for 50+ years, since the houses were built, and everyone looks out for one another.

The house itself is beautiful, so much more space (I even have a designated Christmas stash cupboard above the stairs), and we are just about unpacked. New carpets are down, lounge is being decorated/flooring layed next week. It feels like home :D

On the Christmas front, I have very nearly done. Last few bits for dd's ordered and awaiting delivery. Have also pre-ordered the harry potter colouring book for dd1, and doctor who colouring book for dd2 from amazon. Hoping they come down a bit in price before release date, otherwise they will be the first items I have paid full price for

Sorry for the long post, I have missed you all xx
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

Rushing in quickly before I head to bed.
Been busy crocheting a scarf for a friends Christmas present. It's finished now, so that's another present sorted out!
I wanna see pics of the Halloween decs! I still need to get the few cuddly toys down. Mum told me her Halloween candles are out on display now. :-) Oooh, I've not got the cross stitch pics out either.
In this 'chilly but don't want to put the heating on just yet stage' - have you seen the heated throws that Aldi have this week? £29.99 and you can wash them. Might be an idea...certainly safer than using hot water bottles that are too hot and give you blisters...(stern look to a certain someone!)
I'm sure there was loads more else that I wanted to say but hubby keeps talking at me and I can't think straight. Will pop back tomorrow and contribute to the Christmas Eve/day chat. I have loved reading about everyone's Christmasses. :-)

PS-had a quick look at bhs as I quite like the idea of bringing Christmas into the bathroom too. Their mats are very cute, but found similar on dunelm website for £7.99

FreeSpirit66 - Yes the weather effects mine quite badly. The damp cold weather usually has me increasing the painkillers. Am up at daft o clock again due to being uncomfortable. Its been playing up since the cold weather started.

Our Christmas eve usually starts with a good cooked brekkie, hubby goes to work until lunch ( he work for fire service but he is a Project Manager) Me and the kids usually watch xmassy film then washed , dressed and start some baking. We pick up freshly baked muffins and mince pies from bakery, then when hubby comes home we all have lunch and usually go out to cinema or bowling. Take away for tea then baths and new pjs on from Christmas eve box off the elves. Christmas film, popcorn and then kids in bed.Hubby and I then watch a christmas film like This Christmas or Best Mans Holiday. We then wait til kids asleep, bring presents down, and bed for us. On way to bed I usually Christmas wrap the door for the kids to smash through! they love it.
Christmas day is hectic and fab! We up early and open presents, quick snack brekkie as we get dressed and go to my dads for breakfast every year. My Gran, brother, sister in law, 3 nephews, dad, step mum, step sister, me hubby andmy son and daughter have a couple of hours opening presents there and eating sausage and bacon muffins. We come home, hubby cooks lunch, my mum and younger sister come to mine for lunch, we have a christmas day quiz which my husband does every year and we all love it. We play game and then may have snack stuff for tea later. Lots of chocolates and peanuts consumed inbetween.
The only thing I wil do different this year is cook my meat on christmas eve and set the table x
