While i was there i thought i would look at the food, and was disappointed again (everyone keeps saying for goodness sake it is too early!!!) perhaps it is! Anyway i still managed to spend £30 off of my gift card but over the last couple of weeks buying offers i have saved £19 so i am happy.
PEPPAPIG haha i like it :rotfl:perhaps we as christmas nuts who are looking all year, are impatient for christmas to explode onto the high street!
MONEYMISSION because some people have nothing better to do im afraid!! I have an ocado christmas shop coming on tuesday and i think my christmas cupboard will be full to the brim!! Maybe it will stop me buying much more :rotfl:
Oh I agree with that Free, I just want to do Christmassy things all year round. When one Christmas ends I am already thinking about the next Christmas :rotfl:
You are right, some people just like moaning I think. The good thing is they are not in the office today as they work funny shifts whereas I just work pretty normal hours, so I hopefully won't see them this week.
Peppa - we have been pretty good with our Christmas cupboard so far, although one of the tubs of chocolates has been opened. I don't mind that too much though as I did buy 4 and there's all the other chocolates too!! I don't think we need much more chocolate now so I'll just concentrate on the savoury snacks now and then I think the Christmas cupboard will be sorted.
Princesskitty - I hope you manage to retrieve some photos from somewhere. I've lost photos in the past because of computer glitches and it makes me sad to think of those lost photos. As much as I love my technology there are 2 things I still prefer to have hard copies of and those 2 things are books and photographs
We have hundreds and hundreds of digital photos but every so often I will go through them and get them all printed off. I remember when I was younger and we'd be at my nans and get all her photos out of the cupboards and look through them all. There's just something about holding a photo in your hand. It's the same with books. Yes Kindles and e-readers are good, but I just prefer to actually hold a book in my hands.
I've not ordered any Christmas presents for a few days. I need to have a think of what else I need now because I've got quite a bit sorted so I think I need to have a proper think about what is left to get otherwise I'm going to end up with things I didn't need in the first place :rotfl:0 -
We have a portable hard drive & a cloud account so that no way will we ever lose a photo online again.
Have you checked facebook or any of the missing ones?I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Started present buying today, in Boots got some of the reduced Champneys toiletries down to £1.50-£2 to put in Christmas hampers (see the Grabbit thread)

I'm a bit late with the Christmas Day routine but I was away to a caravan with the kids for a few days.
On Chritmas Eve we do lots of christmas crafts with the kids, make mince pies, follow Santa on NORAD, watch Elf, polar express etc, then we go for a walk after tea to see all the Christmas decorations. My eldest dd likes to help peel spuds and carrots etc while I cook the turkey and gammon. The Kids are in bed pretty early in their new jammies. Then we sit down with a few nice nibbles, bottle of Proecco and watch It's a Wonderful life.
Christmas morning the kids are usually up early, but last year we woke up first and rang a few jingle Bells quietly. The kids crept through not long after saying they heard Santa going home.
We pile downstairs, the kids open their stockings first, then I hand out the rest of the pressies, taking our time.
We then have rolls in sausage for brekkie, the kids play for a while, then we get dressed. The last few years dinner has been here. Everyone arrives about 2-3pm, usually after they have visited inlaws, aunts etc. last year there was 15 of us for dinner.
Once everyone arrives they get mince pies and a drink, once everyone arrives we do more pressies.
Then it's Christmas dinner time, followed by sitting down to board games and a few drinks.
I must admit I prefer Christmas Eve to Christmas Day. It's so magical. I get excited watching the kids get excited, but also reminiscing about the great childhood Christmases I had. :xmastree::snow_laug:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Just went caught up. Was lovely reading everyone's Christmas Day routine. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy.
My DD was doing a dancing champ up in Inverness, so I decided to do a Sun holiday so we could have a few days away too. We tried Grannies Heilan hame in Dornoch. It was lovely, such a lovely area, with beautiful beaches, the weather stayed good too. A bit chillier today but we were driving home. Also my DD got a trophy in the Champ, so it was a good weekend :-)
I picked up my youngest dd a take a long kitchen that Tesco have for £5 just now, ideal for her as she loves wee playsets she can take to competition with us or when visiting.
Also ordered eldest DD some clothes from China for her American girl doll. They are only a few pounds each and so nice. Just hope they arrive in plenty time.
cant beleive we are almost half way through October already!:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
I do like reading about everyone's Christmas's, it reminds me of when I was younger and we used to pile into mum and dad's room to open presents from them and santa then everyone else's presents had been put under the tree so there was round 2 with a drink of Buck's Fizz and some carols playing.
Now the family is a little more spread out and my sister has her baby I'm not sure what's going to change in the next few years.
I popped into the Range for a christmas fix at the weekend and may have slipped a new tree decoration into my basket oops!
Also popped into Lidl and they had their gluwein, pannetone, pandoro (normal and lemon), stollen and mini stollen out. They also had some lebkucken (not the ones with apricot filling) and spekulatious spiced biscuits (based on speculoos I imagine). I also noticed more christmas things going out when I did my shop in Tescos last week - and did think it odd that they had advent calendars out for pets before they had the chocolate ones out..
ooh just noticed Tesco have their Christmas stuff online here0 -
mrs-moneypenny thanks for the tip about looking on Pinterest, I never thought to look on there which is crazy as I go on there a lot!
starlet hello neighbour!
linz ha ha it sounds like we have similar lives! Ah such a shame about the birthday video, it's frustrating isn't it?
Money Mission I'm afraid I'm not too good at printing photos nowadays. I agree about books though, e-readers are good and I can see their appeal but I just can't part with real books. I also like to read in bed before I go to sleep and by that time of day I just don't want any technology around me.
quidsy unfortunately we didn't post any of the pics on Facebook. We have an external hard drive but we hadn't backed up for a couple of months and we didn't have a cloud storage system which we will get now. So even though it's Microsoft that have put us in this position it is also our fault for not being vigilant with our backing up. Massive lesson learned here!
nic congrats to your daughter for winning a trophy! :T
lazysheep I thought that, I was doing an online shop with Tesco and I searched for advent calendars and only a pet one came up!0 -
