Here is happychappy’s guide to uploading photos to the thread. Also includes instructions for ipad and iphone.

I prefer Imgur myself, and find it very easy to use.

Thanks spring dreams I'll make this a job at the weekend as I love everyone's photos. Really appreciate this.

I'm struggling at the moment I'm trying to get up at 5.30 to get slow cooker on washing machine etc before I shoot off to work and I've over committed myself with volunteering so falling asleep by 9pm without getting organised first! Need to get back on track x

    Morning everyone!

Well I am really tired this morning. We went out for dinner for my sister's birthday last night. Such good food! :D My sister liked her pamper hamper although it didn't get quite the big reaction I thought it would. Still, she had a nice birthday so that's what really matters!

Ordered an actual christmas present yesterday (and because I've got the free amazon student trial I'm getting next day delivery)! It was an 11th Doctor Pop vinyl figure for my friend (we are Whovians together!). I love these figures. Hoping Santa will bring me a couple more this year. ;)

Hope you're all as well as can be. :)

    Morning all :)
Free those decorations are brilliant - any excuse to decorate :) I can only imagine how lovely your Christmas decorations are! I got some yankee votive Christmas candles to try some different ones out, I like candy cane though, seems like the only white one that smells of anything...also I'm very jealous about your surprise yankee candle stash 04624181! Plus your Christmas sounds lovely, what does the Christmas day quiz entail - sounds like I may have to steal that :)
Money, for your dad there's aftershave, slippers, socks, jumper, DVD, CD, washbag set bottle of his fave spirit, maybe a driving experience? My dad rather inconsiderately ( ;) ) was born about 2 weeks before Christmas so always have to come up with lots of ideas.
Ruth the heated throws sound like a good plan, I got a weird heat rash at the weekend from putting my hot water bottle against my bare stomach...stupid woman lol
Hope everyone has a nice day :) have to go Moorfields later to see if my eye has recovered fully and can have laser eye surgery yet so fingers crossed!
    I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:
  • Pinknfluffy your new home sounds wonderful - congratulations!
elliew8 fingers crossed for good news from your eye appointment.
Cherry Where did you end up going to on holiday? Sounds like you had a great time wherever it was!
Free great decorations! I find the best thing is that, when the decorations go up, I only have to dust the places that you can actually see (and even then as little as possible)!
It has been lovely to read of the rituals/routines that families have over the Christmas period. Perhaps it's just me (!) but you can feel the joy of it.

Freespirit you sound so organised. Sounds good all the bits you have picked up. I'm just trying to get smaller bits for the kids just now then will start on the foodie bits. X

Hugs JJ sorry to hear you are in so much pain :-( glad you have your mum taking care of you. Your Christmas Day also sounds fab x

Pinknfkuffy yay so glad you are in your house. X

I've just ordered another Alison Gardner advent calendar. We had one last year and the kids loved taking turns to open it. Last year we had the Big house. I've just got this one, not a chocolate in sight :T http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005P7V1UG?redirect=true&ref_=s9_simh_gw_p201_d0_i1

Thank you ellie. I feel your pain, it's my OH's mothers birthday in the middle of December too so we always end up coming up with ideas for her Christmas present and forget about her birthday, so have to give her the present we'd bought for Christmas and then have to come up with other ideas for Christmas. Wow that sounds complicated :rotfl:

I ordered a few more Christmas presents last night. It's gathering pace now, my daughter checked the Christmas countdown app this morning and said there are 72 sleeps until Christmas!! I can't wait :)

Dd1s is mid December. I wouldn't mind but she wasn't due til March! Nature had other ideas!

Had a good look through the hairy bikers chrimbo book at work today. I'm craving mince pies now. I absolutely love them!

Starting to think about making Xmas cards with kids at moment. We always do it but every year I put it off thinking it'll be a really lovely advent activity. The December comes and it's so busy with school things, hubs working at theatre si panto, beaver activities, not to mention dd1s birthday and it ends up being a rush! Going to try for November this year for sure!

Dh reckons he's done my chrimbo presents. This is a miracle. Lol.

Hello Christmas nuts.Thank you for entertaining me recently as i am in bed after an op.

Loving all the tips on which shops are stocking what and the Christmas day descriptions.

I knew that I would be out of action on the run up to Christmas so I finished my shopping weeks ago which is even early for me!

I still have the pleasure of wrapping them all, something I make a big effort with. Some years they are all co ordinated others mixed as I want to use part rolls of paper up.If there ever was a shortage of wrapping paper I think I would be fine for a decade.Every January I vow to not buy any but always do.

2 lots of gifts have already been given to my son and GF who will be in Canada this Christmas.

Sadly I have no young children to buy for, just hubby,mil,Mum,2 daughters and a Bf.

I have also bought birthday gifts for DD1's Bf.Mr V's birthday is the 18th December.Very incosiderate.I think he would like an office chair!!!!!!!

There would be tears before bed time if he got me an office chair for Christmas!

For our Christmas day whoever is at home has a stocking which they open on our bed.We then get dressed someone goes to collect Gran.We make bacon muffins and have with tea chocolatles and bucks fizz whilst we open our presents one at a time.We get the lunch on and tidy up and eat chocolate 'till its ready.Turkey and the trimmings with pavlova for pud.For tea we pick at the turkey with salads and salmon etc and have sherry triffle. Then we finish off with more chocolate.

This year I am making our youngest a giant selection box.I have made the box from an old tv box, need to cover it in xmas paper.I have bought masses of chocolate to stick inside. She is 14 and is too old for toys and too young for just gadgety stuff.

Keep up the good work Vx

Hugs to everyone that needs them- especially JJ x Hope things get better for you soon.

Princesskitty- hope all has settled down now with your DH stress levels (and in the process yours too!), it must have been scary for him- especially coming out of the blue after a good day out.

Pink- congratulations on finally moving into your new home x

Free- those decs are wicked- I haven't decorated for about 5 years now but I am tempted to put a few things out. I brought 2 packs of toffee apple cider for the trick or treat bags for my kids and nephews (all above drinking age don't worry lol!) from Aldi £3.49 for 4. I'm going to give them an LED tealight in a skull shot glass (4 in a pack from poundland), and maybe some sweets- not sure yet on that. They tell me they are too old for this now but each year they ask when they can have their bags! So does DH and he is such a bah humbug type of person most of the time, but he does love the little treats.

Not done too much Christmas wise, brought some jelly beans in Home Bargains for DS and his Hotel Chocolat selection box came today so sweet wise he is sorted. I ordered a tangle teezer for mom that she asked for, used £4 from a PayPal award so paid £3.50 for it, pleased about that.

My free dotcom shopping bag came today- its pretty but I wouldn't have paid £2.95 for it!

I've loved reading about everyone's different Christmas activities, as someone said (I cant remember who -sorry) it does make you feel all warm and fuzzy.
    Take care x
    lovin' this site!
