Clumsy42 - the marvel paper definitely got me brownie points! haha x
freespirit66 - my grans carer, now definitely a family friend gave us a recipe for something very similar to your Crispie Marshmallow bar one only they were chocolaty ones! From what I can remember the same ingredients (though ours is measured in packets haha!) + a mars bar, and an entire big bar of dairy milk on top its sooo good!
msgigglewick - i love that rudolf how good to be able to go and make them! We've made our own before but a lot more rustic looking haha. I love the cone tail! Another option is to paint the glasses... once baked they are even dishwasher proof apparently I'm not brave enough to test but my friend put one through the dishwasher and it did surviveI use the pebeo paints
I'm loving reading about everyones Christmas days, I don't know what ours will be like now, as those who were here last year know we spent last Christmas caring for my grandma and she passed away this year, most of our Christmas day was always spent at her house, just her grandad and us, then when grandad and nanny died my dads side of the family his dad and brother and sister would come with us to grandmas too, so this year shall be very different. I guess we will all get together still but we will have the age old problem of I don't know who has a table big enough lol.
I am trying to do as little as possible today, last nights celebrations for my friends birthdays resulted in a cocktail served in a playmobile boat....
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -

Quite looking forward to it. They have done it the last 2 years but places are limited to 10... this year they are putting on 4 sessions.
Springdreams - did she use temp vinyl and was they placed in the dishwasher? Ive had mugs that i made over a year ago with vinyl on and still going strong. Though a couple that were scrubbed with iron wool obviously got ripped off. Im itching to have a go at etching though lol
One more school trip to pay for, 10 bday peoples bday pressies to buy then i can finish off xmas shopping lol
I'm not sure. I'm not a crafter myself, so can't tell just by looking at it whether it was temp or not. And I don't want to ask her as I've not told her the vinyl letter has washed off. However, I can't imagine that you would give people personalised drinking glasses with their names on them as a Christmas gift with only temp vinyl lettering.
I hand washed my glass. I managed to rescue the lettering, but now use the glass as a pen and pencil holder ...Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Been interesting reading what you all do on the day. Starting to think I am being a bit selfish on this, what do you think.
When I was growing up, my dads sister lived with us. So on Christmas Day, we had her & my grandparents for the day. This continued until the last of them, my grandmother, died a few year ago. For the first time in my life, I thought that first Christmas after her death would be the first time there would only be my immediate family. But that was not to be, we now have my uncle & his wife, was thinking the other day, they have been married over 40 year and have NEVER had to do Christmas Day themselves. When they lived here, they don't have any children, they always went to my aunts, now they have gone home to live, it is to my mum. Am I being selfish in wondering what it is like to have immediate family only, when we can eat when we like, veg out in front of the fire, watch what we want to watch as the control is not constantly being changed by whoever is visiting?A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Gettingtherequickly - Of course that's not selfish! You have every right to enjoy christmas on your own terms.
Had a look on Dunelm's site earlier and they have some lovely christmas things. The wrapping paper section looks great.
Food wise I've been thinking about how nice it would be to use leftover turkey to make turkey korma after christmas. I found a really nice 'healthier' korma recipe that turns out amazing earlier this year. Mmmmmm can't wait!“In 900 years of time and space, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important”

I've had such a crazy week! It's just been one thing after another in and out of work. Why do some people just like to moan for the sake of moaning??
On a Christmas note, I ordered a few more things and most of it has arrived now. I've got to check an Amazon order I placed though because I think I'm still waiting for some of the bits to arrive.
I've had a good tidy up this weekend. Usually about 2 weeks before Christmas I take a day off work and have a proper blitz of the whole house because it always seems to get in a mess. But this year I'm hoping to keep doing little jobs every weekend so that I don't need to waste a days holiday cleaning!
It's feeling more and more Christmassy every day to me. I went shopping yesterday and Tesco had Terry's chocolate oranges & After Eights half price, so I bought a few to put away in the Christmas cupboard (yes I have an official Christmas cupboard in my kitchen):rotfl:
I think I might start doing some wrapping soon. We always have so much to wrap and leave it to the last minute so end up hating it, even though I usually really enjoy wrapping presents. So I'm going to start next weekend and get things done so that when I put my tree up I can start putting gifts under the tree.
And I'm currently watching a Christmas movie :j0 -

Hi all, not having the best of weekends in our house.
I was on my own for the whole of yesterday as DH went to watch the British Masters golf tournament at Woburn, which is fine, but on his way home he got in to an altercation with some travellers. He wasn't hurt but there were lots of nasty threats made to him so he was quite shaken up. Then today PC World told us that they recovered our data from our laptop but the hard drive is broken so will need replacing and they don't have the software to reinstall Windows for our particular laptop so we'd also have to buy the disc for it, so basically it'll cost around another £150. However when we got home it turns out not all the data was recovered and we've lost some precious photos including Wiggles first birthday. DH also lost some spreadsheets that were really important to him. I am NEVER EVER calling Microsoft support again! We are ridiculously worse off than when I called them in the first place! Last night and today put DH in a foul mood today, quite understandably, but on a selfish note I've found it difficult as I've been on my own with Wiggle for 6 days with no company during the days so I was really looking forward to spending the day with DH. I know it'll all blow over in time. We've decided to buy a new laptop and this time we will be backing up regularly and sorting out one of those cloud storage things.

Sorry didn't mean to leave my last post as it was, the Tesco man came so I posted it as I don't trust the iPad, normally on my laptop I write notes in Word as I go! DH is still in a right grump so I've retreated upstairs which is a bit annoying as I'd like to flake out and watch some TV!
Anyway I was going to say that I've really enjoyed reading about everyone's Christmasses, it's making me feel really Christmassy. :xmassmile
fiesty glad to hear you are feeling better about everything. I can see from your blog you have your work cut out, but as Peppa says once you're in and settled this will all be a distant memory. You'll be making lots of wonderful new memories in your new home!
freespirit yay for winning a Yankee candle! I love entering competitions, but I can only enter the odd one now and again and cannot compete with the professional compers out there!
Gettingtherequickly I don't think it's selfish at all, why wouldn't you imagine a Christmas with just your immediate family and not be on ceremony?
BBRosie Oh my word how do you fit it all in?! Well done you for doing all of those things!
I popped into town yesterday and picked up a £5 Starbucks card for DH's stocking as he enjoys the occasional hot chocolate from there.0 -
Christmas Eve, is prep and a long walk looking at the neighbourhood lights, then home to new pjs and Irish coffee watching movies. Then we follow santa's progress on NORAD Santa Tracker (DS 18 but ho hum) before bed I open the windows and we listen to the church carol service having midnight mass. Christmas Day DS will have his stocking and we will wrap up for an early morning walk with Teddy to the shore or forest depending on the weather. It's nice walking past houses listening to the families opening presents early morning. Home to reheated Delia's Christmas Morning Muffins, don't know why but they are tastier reheated. Then DS will have his presents and I will start dinner which will probably be a small roast, my mum may come over for dinner, unsure yet. Normal round of phone calls coming in from my other children who are scattered around the country then it's out for another walk with Ted then home for general laze in front of the TV and watch the soaps. Quite normal, quite simple but that's the way DS can cope.
Boxing Day I like to try and get the house back to normal and whilst DS is occupied with presents from the day before I make the most of time to myself and paint my nails or suchlike.
Oh yes and last year I was on here having a natter with quite a few of you0
