thanks CJ2014, l will nip out for them later today, as a start to the hampers stash. Skype was later than usual, but the overseas bunch are all well and good. (as good as 7 and 9 year olds can be!).
Yes , Freespirit, we had a good nose around and had afternoon tea in debenh&ms.
JJ it is great to see you posting again, well done on keeping out of hospital, sorry to hear the treatments side effects are interfering with what you want to do.
l stayed out of the garden yesterday but today l can hear it calling my name, but l will be sensible and limit what l do, then tonight l will write the first batch of cards, or finish crocheting the pram comforter for fave niece.0 -
Afternoon all, well DH has gone off to work and we've all eaten a big roast so am spending a bit of time christmas browsing...
Am starting to get ideas for both dds but as happened last year all the prices on things are practically RRP. I assume its so they can do the usual prices slashes later on. Well, I have the list started so will keep my eyes out.
Have given CPR to the chrimbo savings fund and its looking okay really. 2 more payments in to it, but of course, I will be withdrawing bits before then too.
Hope everyone else is ok. Its much warmer here today which is a blessing as I refuse to put heating on yet and I was cold last couple of days.

HI everyone long time lurker here.
Been following this thread from the start. I've always been a Christmas planner. I have a multitude of lists on the go at the moment so I've tried to streamline everything and printed some printables from the organised christmas website. There all in a folder now and I've added plastic wallets for receipts, money off voucher and christmas ideas.
A lot of people this year are getting vouchers and the kiddies have chose there main presents. Both mega expensive but I can cut back in other areas and I rarely pay full price for anything.March 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -
04624181 not laughing at the ironing board solution, will have a go! Love watching Christmas films whilst wrapping, also music. Have you any favourite films? I love the bishops wife, the black and white version, also the holly and the ivy. No one else in my family likes the latter but I love the atmosphere. Also love the muppets Christmas Carol. We have around eight or nine versions of a Christmas Carol.0

3forholidays, I very rarely give money for Christmas because for me it's all about buying and giving pressies. Unfortunately I think most of the children would much prefer money and are probably pricing up what we've bought as they open it and thinking of what they could have bought instead lol.
I do always give them money for their birthdays though so hopefully that makes up for it!
Welcome back JJ - so glad to hear you're doing ok and keeping out of hospital. :j I didn't realise too much gas and air could have such an effect - maybe I should be glad they took it off me when I had DD1 lol. Hope things work out really well for you.
MrsG - will have to go back now and re-read your earlier post to see what toy you bought that's the new 'must have'. Probably haven't got anyone to buy for that would suit it but must have a look just in case. Glad to see the FB Elf thread is hotting up now.
Thanks for the heads up CJ2014 - I've got some M&S vouchers so will get a couple of boxes with those. Welcome to the party apologies if you've been here a while and I missed it!).
04624181 I use the ironing board for wrapping too - nothing better than watching a Christmas film while wrapping pressies
Welcome to the thread p-pincher. I keep hearing about 'organised Christmas' - don't suppose you can point me in the right direction? It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
creamcrackerstwo I love the preachers wife, the colour version. I love Elf, Jingle all the way, Rise of the guardians which is not strictly christmas but has got Santa in it and Jack frost lol Also love This Christmas with Chris Brown, Delroy lindo, regina king in. Not one for the kiddies but a firm favourite with me and the hubby. we tend to watch it every christmas eve when kids gone to bed.0

04624181 - well there are a few films I will have to look up. It's the Cary Grant version of the bishops wife that I like, love the Christmas tree decorating part! Just like that!0

Evening everyone, i cant believe how another weekend has gone so fast, i had so many plans and havent achieved any of them! DD1 and i are itching to get on with our christmas shadow boxes but we have to wait until payday to get any more little bits and pieces, i am making DD2 and OH a scrabble shadow box, i now have everything to go but cant find my glue gun  i have looked everywhere!! I also need red sewing thread to start my knife, fork and spoon holders :rotfl::rotfl:
PAVLOVSDOG ooh thankyou for that will have to go take a look
04624181 i do make certain recipes every year but also tend to do a lot of new ones but i will sort out some old faithfuls for you, one is a hit with everyone, DD1s work colleagues request it every year too cheeky s*ds, even people she worked with years ago ask is your mum making her glittery krispie cake? It looks spectacular and lovely in cellophane bags it is toffees, marshmallows, rice krispies and butter then when it is set and cooled i sprinkle white hologram edible glitter all over it looks so pretty, will look out recipe for you the only thing is this is a last minute one not a freezahead one. You would be surprised how many people use an ironing board for wrapping presents even Ruth from This Morning does it!
CREAMCRACKERSTWO oh that is good i have some of that, they just look so intricate and being so expensive i would hate for it to stick every blooming time i use itooh i havent made sloe gin for years its lovely on a cold day isnt it?
CJ2014 thankyou for that i will get DS to pop in and get some do you know when it finishes?
MRSINVISIBLE aww glad you had a lovely time with DD mmm afternoon tea?
CROWDPLEASER ooh it is still cold here
P-PINCHER hi and welcome to our thread, yes i need to print some, i have just been going on internet but it will be so much easier with a file

Anybody know when the 20% off at smyths is? It is usually this month some time isnt it?
Freespirit66 - That sounds fantastic!! like something the kids could help me with on christmas eve or the day before christmas eve. I too am awaiting payday to purchase craft things and a few pressies. why is it when you have no money you see loads of things you want!
