I set my alarm for 5am, checked out and about half my basket was out of stock unfortunately.

Was in town for 2 minutes past 8, my fave store was already open and the 2 aisles of xmas stock was flying out, but no tag-teaming going on, all very polite and chatty. There were loads of big S&G sets in this store, which is why I chose it over the larger store in my town. So got that and some nail sets for xmas pressies. Then I went to our local retail park store for their opening at 9am, this was a bit more manic, once in there were several people with basket-trolleys just grabbing stuff off the shelves and throwing it in their trolleys (it reminded me of supermarket sweep lol). Still all polite though, and I got the hair sets I wanted from this store (4 different ones, and all of them OOS online). I could have got a fair bit of Jack Wills here, including the ladies gym bag, but I was being good and sticking to my list! The £75 Boots No7 OOTW was here too.

I managed to remember to use all my available points and mailings vouchers (a minor miracle for me as I don't usually spend enough in Boots to warrant a threshold spend points voucher use), so I've boosted my points by another 1100 today.

I've only missed out on one item I really wanted, kind of kicking myself when I think about it, as I should have just bought it yesterday at half price (it was originally £16 and it would cost me £3 to park the car) but I just wasn't thinking!
  • Went to Coventry Ricoh this morning, got there for about 9.15 (it opened at 9.00), it was mobbed but all quite civilised. Couple of old dears with trollies that they'd "borrowed" from the M&S next door which I thought was a bit naughty as they were proper getting in everyone's way.

I got the 2 things I really wanted, the big Jack Wills bag and the Ted Baker box (the one that was ootw)... there were LOADS of the JW bag and loads of Sanctury too. Also shelves and shelves of wrapping paper, tags and cards. Also managed to get one of the smaller S&G sets, a Ted Baker nail polish set and some slippers :D

Apart from the slippers (for me!) everything is for presents later on in the year so I'm really happy with my lot. Would definitely try and get there for about half an hour before opening in future though (SA told me people were queuing at 8.30) as I could see people leaving as I was getting there with the No7 sets and other S&G sets... the early bird and all that!
You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that :p

Proud to be BSC no. 103
  • There's a voucher in there for 500 points wys £10.00 on indulgent bathing and also for 15% Jack off Wills wys £30.00.

The points voucher is valid from 1st Jan - 31st March.
JW voucher valid from 22nd Jan - 18th March.

Those giving for presents later on it the year might want to get those out now :p

Going to check the Ted Baker and S&G sets now!

Hoping you girlies got what you wanted.

This year I didn't bother, I have changed my mind about the boots sale this year.

I forgot to use my threshold vouchers when I was at the Bristol store this morning - do you think they will add them on if I go to my local store later?

  • Me and my mum went to the Castle Mall and Chapelfield stores in Norwich at 8.15am this morning. Having always been to Chapelfield first in the past, we headed straight for Castle Mall as there is a lot more toys and things for children here. I could see people had got there early as some had 5 or 6 of those blue shopping bags crammed full of stuff.
Last year people were fighting for stuff in there, this year, everything civilised, everyone polite. Infact there was a lot less people to what I had imagined.
Got loads of stuff and spent £53. Lots and lots of Soap and Glory and Sanctuary.

Then walked over to Chapelfield and spent another £16. Not as much in here, had Jack Wills, lots of fragrance sets, slippers etc.

Bonus of the day was taking something back to Wilkinsons and finding out they had a 75% sale. So some of my presents that I bought in Boots will be returned as I got some lovely Nivea gift sets (mens toiletry bag with toiletries) for £2.50 :-). Vaseline tins were £1.25 (ones with the 3 lipbalms)
Lots of stuff in here....another £11 spent.

All in all, a lovely day.....looking forward to next year already :-)

I'm too pregnant to be bothering with 5am starts but I did pop to my local small Boots at lunch and picked up a Ted Baker men's gift set and a fat face gift set. I'd already bought a White Company set, large Ted Baker ladies set and some Lynx on half price as I knew it would fly out at 70%.
Considering braving Trafford Centre later - don't want or need any more gifts, but would like some of their lovely wrapping paper.
