Curly big hair - I wish.......
It was originally dark and although always baby fine I did have lots of it back in the day. Then it gradually got lighter And ended up auburn, which I liked. NOw it's white and still baby fine and a lot thinner. Everyone likes it but I do miss my auburn tresses.
I did try to introduce Some gold and copper tones last year but they didn't last five minutes. So it looks like I'm stuck with being a silver fox instead of a flame haired vixen......
I keep saying I will try and grow it but tbh I haven't really found a really good hairdresser to get atop notch cut.
Finding a really good hair dresser is something else on my agenda for next year.0 -
Like the look of that jump suit. Nice and simple. Looks abit classier than the ASDA ones. Thanks for that.
I might nip in to tomorrow. I'm not as tall as you and most of my height is in my legs so the short body might not be a problem for me.0 -
Maman, I love that jump suit too, I used to wear them a lot back in the day...., fortunately I had a slim rear then, they do rather emphasize a generous butt.:( Anyone remember Anneka Rice jumping out of a helicopter and running around on them? The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. One of the reasons exercise is good for stress is that it raises cortisol levels naturally, and then they return to normal after exercise - which can force down the cortisol levels raised by stress. Sadly when we're stressed exercise is often the first thing we stop doing - when really we should do more.
LL - with all those on-board activities you'll be fit and toned in no time!
I had a horrible flight - first 5 hours were OK. Last 5 were like a roller coaster and I narrowly missed revisiting my lunch. There was too much turbulence for them to serve the second meal ... I'm slowly recovering. I've unpacked, washed and dressed and am in the bar with a drink and about to find something to eat. I'll spend as much of tomorrow as I can exercising, despite the temptation to book myself into the spa from when I wake up until when I start work in the afternoon.
Still wearing the scarf round my head. No one has said anything... So I'm definitely going to invest in some cotton scarves so I can do this more often!0 -
Hi all, hope you're all well.
Just delurking to quickly wish you an absolutely fantastic trip, lessonlearned - hope you thoroughly enjoy yourself0 -
Hope you had a good time in Brighton indie. It's not too far from me so you should have had brilliant weather. I stayed there last Easter and my hotel room looked right out on the pier and beach. It was great. I think that was the last time I had proper take away fish and chips so I'm long overdue some more:drool:.
LL is absolutely right about getting slimmer round the waist for health reasons aside from the feel good factor. Hopefully now you've had the personal consultation you'll know what to do. I'm still convinced that it's food that'll make the biggest difference though. I'm not knocking exercise for toning and strength though.
We had a lovely time, bit of pottering round the Laines, where I bought a gold plated ring set with carnelian and matching studs - very autumnal colours. I also got a hair accessory from one of my favourite shops in Brighton - they import from France and I've never found anywhere else (even in London) that stocks anything like the range of colours and styles they do, and they're good quality too.
Nice lunch, healthy main and sinful pudding... that's a balanced diet right? :rotfl: At least I only had water with it.
Ended up down on the seafront and saw the starling murmuration which was amazing - never seen other than on the TV, and then watched the sunset over the sea.
Was funny, the three of us coming down from London all ended up wearing different shades of red. The girls who met us off the train looked at us in surprise, saying they didn't get the message red was the colour for the day. I wore a biscuit coloured lace camisole under a brick red faux wrap style top with a chestnut brown merino cardigan over the top - all from Kettlewell, though only the cardi is the current collection. Wore with my jeans, tan boots and a lovely leaf bead necklace and earring set my sister made me in autumnal shades.
I know diet is the main thing I need to do to shift the weight - the gym instructor was quite clear on that and was surprised to hear my current personal trainer doesn't push me on my diet, what I should eat and when. Has to be said she has a really enviable figure as does the Zumba teacher - might inspire me to take things more seriously. My p/t has definitely helped me tone up, but she isn't that serious about diet herself, and she wears lots of loose long sleeved layers on her top half (to keep the sun off in the summer in the park and bulkier ones to keep warm in the winter, so though I can see she has strong toned legs, I couldn't tell you if her stomach is more washboard and her arms toned or more bingo winged.
Anyway, one thing I do know from past experience is though diet is key, I have never managed to shift weight without exercising. I think it's partly because as greenbee said it helps to get the cortisol levels down afterwards. I think it makes me more inclined to eat better partly as I don't like undoing my efforts by overeating and partly because I just feel happier and less stressed and so less inclined to overeat to suppress negative emotions, which is one of the key reasons I got overweight in the first place.
Right, the house is a bit of a tip and I am out for a pedicure later so I want to have a good push tidying up and a nice soak in an Epsom salts bath before lunch so I had better stop here. This week looking like it will be another busy one and I am away hiking next weekend, so I might be awol for a while again.
Have a great week everyone and LL just in case I don't manage to post again before, I hope you have an amazing holiday and enjoy being fab everyday.0 -
Indie. Sounds like you had a great day. I love the Laines, I could spend for England in places like that....:rotfl: you were very restrained.
Loving the red outfits.
Nice long sleep and lie in today - still in bed......:rotfl: DS2 making the coffee.
Will havea bath, tuck in to a good brunch, get fabbed up and then later we will be off to see The James Bond movie and then Wagamammas.
Should be fun.0 -
LL Enjoy the cruise.
Hard to believe that we are now in November - where has the year gone?
I'm going to be needing a new face wash soon - any recommendations?
I'm currently using Avene Cleanance which I find is a little too harsh but if I just use water then I eventually get blackheads and my skin feels greasy with acne around the chin area. Trying to look fab is difficult when you still have the teenage spotty skin in your 30's!
I know that fabbing has a lot of different elements to it - clothes, diet, fitness as well as skincare but I feel that trying to sort my skin is the priority for the moment. My acne is definitely hormone related but has been particularly bad this month.
Keep fabbing people!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

I switched to oil cleansing a few years ago - started by using OOD flaxseed oil, sometimes use olive oil and am currently using a blend called 'wonder oil' which smells delicious.
Just wipe oil on with your hands and wipe off with a hot damp muslin or flannel. If you're having a bath you can leave it on while you're in there. Oil removes the dirt without dehydrating your skin so can help moisture balance and oiliness. I really notice the difference when I'm away for work and have to use face wipes or cleanser.0 -

We're lucky enough to see this regularly here in Blackpool, they gather in various areas of the town and come together to roost either under North Pier or in the trees around Marton Mere nature reserve. I love to see the groups queuing up on the beach for their turn to settle in for the night.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
