Sorry there's no fabbing to report but I needed to post and not let myself fall off the radar.
Definitely no falling off the radar allowed!Like LL said, no one minds reading. It's like an online chat. Plus it's obvious you're not alone. Do you think it might be the weather which is disappointing for summer?
LL
I found that if I almost "punished myself" by feeling awful about being fat and "having" to diet then I did not do very well. On the other hand if I told myself I was feeding my body good healthy foods and trying to eat more fruit and veg as well as HB lower cal and fat meals cooked from scratch then I was more relaxed.
I am thinking of this as a journey rather than a race as I can't keep feeling a failure just because the scales show no loss one week. In the words of "The Prisoner" "I am not a number!"
Completely agree about settling on a healthy eating programme elona as a life choice rather than any quick fix diet. It's common sense really to eat lots of the foods we know are healthy and keep the 'naughties' at treat status. I never saw The Prisoner but you reminded me of a lovely trip to Portmeirion a year or so ago.:)
I picked up my Kondo book from the library and I've read a Chapter already. If I think her method is for me then I'll buy my own copy. I've done a few drawers from what I've seen on youtube and on here and they've remained perfect for weeks.
Up and out and all fabbed up early for me this morning as I had a meeting, hopefully the last until the new term starts. When it was over I gave myself a treat. I was only a couple of miles from the sea front so I drove down, bought myself a take away coffee and enjoyed it breathing deeply of the sea air. I think it's partly nostalgia as I was bought up by the sea. Definitely something I must do more often.0 -
Trying to cheer myself up, making some pasta pesto, really cheap and easy to make and i am as hungry as a wolf :P
for the pesto all you need is olive oil, salt, pepper (optional), chilli flakes (i like to add but optional), cheese (normally pecorino but i have cheddar so cheddar it is) and of course basil!

Polkadots, sorry to hear you are still feeling a bit out of sorts. I think as Maman said the weather could well be having an effect, it certainly is curtailing all my plans at the moment. The last week I cleared and tidied the garden so we could all relax and play out there and since, almost to the moment, I finished it has been raining
I have tried every diet under the sun and all they have succeeded in doing is making me feel miserable and I am still the same weight I have been for the last 7 years. So my OH and I had a long talk and I realised that I actively rebel against diets so I am just going to relax and aim for everything in moderation with lots of family exercise. Maman has recommended Slimming World and it has worked incredibly well for lots of people I know.
No appearance fabbing for me however I have been spending lots of time with family and sorting out clutter which has been lovely and very relaxing. When I am tense I find that cleaning is very therapeutic, shame I don't enjoy it when relaxed :rotfl::rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Im in bed having an early night and catching up with your posts.
Not feeling very fab at the mo, a bit overwhelmed and exhausted. Still not sure if my Mum will get home or not and as well as visiting regularly we are trying to do repairs to her bungalow - roof repair started today and we are going on Thursday to strip wallpaper. The house is very smokey and I'm not looking forward to it one bit.
I want to ask you about Bach flower remedies. Does anyone use them? I've only had the Rescue Remedy in the past.
Tonight I've had an Epsom salt and lavender oil bath and taken a magnesium supplement (good for stress) and have my clothes ready for work in the morning. I really need a holidayCrazy clothes challenge 2017 - 30/3000 -
I used the Bach treatments before, however I find what works best for me is tweaking my diet to add or remove things to improve the way I feel.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

*maman* I do envy you, being within easy reach of the sea; I long to move to somewhere that's about 10 or 15 minutes drive from the coast so I can treat myself to a daily walk along the seafront, and I'm really hoping to be able to do this in the next couple of years but I'm not sure it'll happen, with family ties and all....we'll see.
All the talk of decluttering has made me determined to make a start - a close friend has recently downsized, letting go/getting rid of half her possessions in the process, and she's happier and more relaxed than I've ever known her so I think there's a lot to be said for minimalism!
*polka dots* you put me to shame! I had pesto pasta tonight too, but mine was from a jar - next time I'll make it myself!
*rowan* I'm so sorry things are so tough and uncertain - sending hugs to you, and to all who are feeling down.
The weather probably isn't helping, though in my case I have a real feeling of having "lost myself" and not knowing where to begin to find my direction again!
On the positive side, I've drunk more water than usual today!
Night all x0 -
absolutely no fabbing done today, but tomorrow i'm going to make myself do some fabbing, it just feels like such a hassle right now, but once i've done it it makes me feel like a million bucks
do you feel the same ladies?
Chatting with you really helps me, i'm in a much better mood now, thanks a million! hugs to you all lovelies :smileyheaNo buying unnecessary toiletries challenge

Feeling very low and frustrated today. Ellsbel, Maman - I too am so envious of your being close to the coast. I'm about as equidistant from it as you can get! We had a short break in the West Country earlier this year and it was utter bliss. I could do with that right now.
I'm on a day off after a horribly stressful week and all I'm doing is fielding emails from work. "Can you just..." - er, hello, this is the third day off in the last fortnight that I've spent doing work stuff and I'm getting neither paid nor the time back. Nor, seemingly, any blimmin' respect for it.
Have put my foot down and informed them that I'm off out now and won't be on emails. Now to find somewhere to go and something to do :rotfl:
Trying to make myself let go of the resentment and, frankly, anger, but it's tricky. I get too worked up about, well, work . I've also not been fabbing very much, but later on I'm going to come up with a recipe for the glut of courgettes growing in the garden and try to reclaim my day before it's too late. I think a trip to the garden centre might be in order.
What's everyone else up to today?0 -
Definitely need to reclaim some work/life balance MissRarr. Good for you for saying NO!What's everyone else up to today?
I've done a bit of fabbing and very pleased with my hair. He has done a good cut. Also did all the usual creaming after my shower.
I'm going to settle down and read more of my Marie Kondo book from the library before lunch and join the thread on here because I have questions to ask.
It's bright here but hardly a high summer day. Maybe I'll be inspired actually do some Kondoing rather than just think about it.;)0 -
Good for you for putting your foot down, *Miss rarr* enjoy your "me" time:)
Was awake at 5.30 again this morning. If it happens again tomorrow I'm going to make sure I'm in the shower and fabbing by 6.30 - being up and ready early might make me a bit more productive and energised.
I'm dressed, hair washed and just needs taming with the straighteners, have used a gradual tanning moisturiser on my face (inspired by maman!) but skipped body lotion this morning as I was late to get ready and dog was waiting for his walk!
No real plans today - loads of ironing to do though. Will try to grab half an hour in the garden with a book at some point.0
