Well, I am not looking fab at the moment as am still in my sweaty running kit (hunger won over the desire to have a bath), but I am feeling fab.

Did my first 10k race this morning - the Great Newham run, which included doing the last 300m in the Olympic stadium.

I only got back to running 5k in April and have though I have done couch to 5k before, I hadn't ever kept it up afterwards. If my friends hadn't have suggested it, I would never have had the guts to sign up for it.

I wasn't speedy (nor expecting to be) but I stuck to my goal of running all the way round and went over the line with one of my running chums in 1:17:28.

We're already talking about which one to sign up for next. I had to chuckle though, one of the faster girls was suggesting a half marathon a few days ago and I said I wasn't keen. She said to me today she didn't realise that is 20k, i.e. double what we did today. Pretty much why I wasn't up for it! Am looking forward to beating my time next time round though - gives me motivation to train.

    Hello again everyone!

Been busy today, sorted out handbags, pyjamas, scarves etc, shoes and two kitchen cupboards, so now have a massive pile of charity stuff and a smaller pile of ebay stuff to list. Managed a few listings yesterday. Also got a few bags of stuff to donate to a tombola a friend is running, so there should be some space once all that lot is cleared out!
Found some more pencils so i can do some more colouring later :)
I'm off to have a bath, dye my hair (the dye I've got is rubbish but will have to do for now as I'm skint!), then have something to eat and watch a movie whilst doing my nails.

Wow! It's been busy on here since I posted on Friday.:)

I know exactly what you all mean about a balance between busy and quiet. I tend to long for a bit of peace and then get bored and frustrated with myself if I don't do anything. I don't suffer from depression as such but I can get a bit down and then it's hard to motivate myself. Something of a vicious circle.

The Kondo book has arrived in the library so I'll try and pick it up tomorrow. If I find it useful then I'll buy a copy. LL, I think there is a sort of way of Kondoing weight. I'd call it doing a stocktake of the food you have in, using up the 'naughty' stuff (ideally give it away or feed it to someone else), do a healthy meal plan based on what you have in and then just shop for essential ingredients. So minimalist and neat with no waste and should definitely help you lose weight.;)

I've spent a fair bit of time in France and fabness is definitely polarised. The image we have of French chic still exists but they also have hideous tat in supermarkets too. I've also noticed those mannish short haircuts on older women there too and often dyed red.

Not over happy with my hair on Friday, I think it looks more pudding basin than bob! I think because of the effects of sun and swimming he cut off more dry bits so it's shorter than usual. It'll probably look different when I blow dry it myself.

I went out for lunch with former colleagues yesterday and then almost straight on to a birthday tea in the garden with family. I think I got the fabness just about right. I went for a garden party look with a silk dress and heels (changed to wedges for the garden) and I felt good. Some had opted for crops or white jeans which is quite acceptable for country pub/outdoor party but it felt good to be smart.

Not much happening today. I went briefly into the city as my phone is causing a problem and now it needs to go back so I'll be without it for the best part of a week:eek:. Had a little browse in sales but found myself realising that while I might have liked a few bits I really didn't need them. Oh and a change of plan with my Jigsaw top. When I went to pick it up they had a white one which wasn't on line so I had that instead of the navy (almost bought both:o). Interestingly the navy one (click and collect) had been packed twisted into a knot as it's a non-iron crinkle effect. It's brilliant to have tops that can travel well and now I'll be a bit rougher with them after I wash them. Jigsaw also had loads of lovely things but fortunately the car was on a meter!:rotfl:

I'm doing Hairy Bikers braised steak for dinner with loads of veggies. It's an amazing recipe that mikes heaps of delicious gravy for just a teaspoon of cornflour. Can't wait!

Sorry to hear you are not feeling great today, is there something you enjoy to do that you could fit in as a treat today?

Maman - im feeding the naughties to my sons and trying to eat healthily myself, although I did have a very naughty creamy chocolate pudding last night......

Ds2 is off work next week with the intention of doing some decorating, plus I need to visit DS1s house a few times to water the garden so I'll be a bit pushed for time. So........I'll give it another week and if I don't make any progress then I will join SW the week after. If prefer not to but I have to say slimming clubs do work. I don't really like the happy clappy stuff but I'll go for it If all else fails.

My friend comes back from Canada on Tuesday and she has said she intends to go so at least I can go and have a giggle with her.

I do really need to get cracking though if I'm going to,have any chance of meeting my target by next May.

Tbh it's not just about looking good - although that's a big bonus - I am just so fed up with feeling tired and lethargic. I know I'll feel much better if I shift some weight. My energy levels are at Rock bottom.

I'm not dpressed but I do,feel a bit low, just how you describe Maman. I Am normally an upbeat cheery little soul but at the moment I'm struggling. I just feel, washed out. I'm hoping I'll perk up,after ive pass!d the 1 year anniversary (August 10th) I can feel it's ominous presence just looming over me. ;)

Polkadots - sorry to hear you are struggling.....hope you, feel better soon.

Sorry this has been a bit of a winge. :o

LL - I know the feeling of not being depressed as such but just low. I've had a really stressful week followed by two days with a long commute and I have another one tomorrow with a time-specific deadline which will require a lot of concentration. I'm also just waiting for someone to drop another project on me. Limping towards my days off with my head swimming having had dinner. I should go to bed but I can't switch off so early after getting in from work.

I hope you feel happier tomorrow and enjoy seeing your friend.

Indie I did the newham run too!!!! *waves*

I did the family run which was the last 2k. I did it with my mum and my sisters children. It's the first run I've done in ages, so I think I did okay, but not as good as my nephew.

It's was amazing running in the Olympic stadium as I grew up in the area, so I know it well. It's the first time I've visited the stadium as I missed the Olympics as Dd was due slap bang in the middle of the games.

I'm going to do it next year and may try a 5k too.

It was so cool being in the stadium, I didn't go to the Olympics, was out of the country for most of it. I was really nervous this morning but I really enjoyed it once we got going, aside of the heat! I usually do my longest training run at 6am in the morning which is usually rather cooler!
