Maman, it was a direct email although in the situation I can understand why they saved time to get straight in touch with me. However, I put my foot down after that and this afternoon have not even looked at them. I have some work stuff to do tomorrow just for the sake of making my own life easier but after that I shall enjoy my last day off. I am getting very close to bringing this up - it's one thing getting in touch when it's really important but another manager lazily responding to an email asking me to "just..." do some more work is not on. If I were being really harsh I reckon I could legitimately put in for over a day's overtime just from time off I've wasted in the last 8 days.

Anyway! On to more positive stuff. I've had a thought about the potting shed. I've fallen in love with a certain one but then I saw the price - and now I've decided to show the old shed that was here when we moved in some love. So, rather than belt out hundreds, I'm going to advertise for a craftsman to refelt the roof to stop the leaks and also replace the currently empty windows with perspex. Much better, environmentally and financially. Given OH's car has just had a very expensive repair, it seems appropriate to rein the spending in! I'm much happier about this idea actually, even if the new potting shed was lovely. :money:

Haven't been overly good on the diet front but I've been fairly good lately in general so will get back on that tomorrow. Garden fabbing been compromised somewhat by a massive downpour but the council are booked to take away from large items left over from the move last year so soon we can clear the garage for the winter log delivery, and tonight is going to be spent eBaying some clothes that not only am I hanging on to "for when I'm thin again", but also that I've realised I don't even like! :rotfl:

Miss Rarr - in future tell your boss you're on holiday somewhere with no internet and no mobile reception. Then switch everything off. You're not lying. There is no internet or mobile reception for your work kit when switched off. If you're not disciplined enough to do that, book a holiday cottage with no internet in a mobile phone dead zone (I can make suggestions).

    And claim back your holiday.

I've just crawled into bed shattered after a really busy afternoon catching up on jobs in the home, but tired as I am, I've still cleansed and moisturised - I'm sometimes a bit lazy about putting night cream on so I'm glad I've done that tonight.
Lunch was nice; I went for dark, smart jeans in the end, with a pink, silky floral Tee and pink pumps...to be truthful I never feel great at the moment as I feel too heavy, and I would/will dress very differently if I was/when I am, slimmer! But the outfit itself was ok, I guess.
    Night all x

Ellsbel - glad you had a nice time, and I'm sure you looked better than you felt, I do know the feeling though.

I wasn't as good as you on the make up and moisturiser front but I did get loads done around the house and felt that it was an afternoon well spent. Today I'm going to get out in the garden and enjoy my last day off doing what I want to, and will wander into town to the grocers to get something nice and healthy for dinner for when the OH gets in.

What's everyone else up to today?

Glad you had a good time ellsbel. Keep up the healthy eating and dog walking and the pounds should disappear. It's four years next month since I got back to the weight I wanted and I still delight in it every day.

Not a lot going on here. Like you I'm going out for a bit of pottering as I have something to pick up.

Since I collected the Kondo book on Monday I've done a fair bit of reading and tidying so that's an achievement. I'll probably get some more done today.

Ironically I had a B&Q email about sheds just after our conversation! Well done you on being mse and reclaiming yours. There are some lovely ideas around on how to pretty them up.

Haven't read it yet but someone recommended this blog/website

Seems like something worth checking out.

    :wave:LL, hope you're OK?

Hi everyone, I was a little apprehensive about my PT session this morning as I hurt my back earlier in the week and have been very stiff and in a lot of pain, but he was great and adapted my exercises to that they all loosened things up, but without adding any strain, so I feel more comfortable at last:D

Had a healthy lunch of HM soup with HM chicken liver pate and water biscuits, but will probably indulge with raspberries and cream later. I find that lowish carb and high protein suit me best. My tum is happier, but I have to eat some carbs to stop me loosing weight. I will remedy that with HM pizza later, so must get moving and start the dough off. (HM is best and worth doing, but there are days when I wish someone else was making it LOL).

Time to take a cuppa into the garden and play ball with the dog, who keeps giving me sad looks:(

    I'm here - just. :rotfl:

Ive been busy, but not achieved much, where does the time go.

I'm fine but struggling with my back and a groin strain.no idea how I did that. Amyway went to Physio yesterday so should feel better in a day or two.

On the fabbing front ive ordered a cross trainer/exercise bike combo and I'm doing ok with the healthy eating.

Good to see you enjoying the Kondoing Maman. I too want/need/am lusting after a shed, one of those pretty octagonal summer houses which I shall shabby chic and make all girly and do girly stuff in. Like a nice cosy chair, and some magazines and books. I might even write my memoirs in there. :D maybe even my "great novel".:rotfl:

I am viewing a dilapidated town house next Monday. Tiny but with potential to be really cute and bijou. It has a small west facing walled garden - which is currently just a horrible scruffy yard but I can just picture my summer house in the corner........roses, honesuckle and jasmine trailing up the walls. Fingers crossed.........

I too still have a fair bit of Kondoing to do but I think I'll leave it now until I move and then I can see what's needed and what gives me joy.

Sorry to hear about your work MissRarr. Boo indeed. Cheeky beggars.

My OH had this at one stage in his career (before he went SE). Luckily this was in the days when Mobiles werent so prevalent. In those days I had one but not OH. His work didn't have my mobile number so they would leave ever frantic messages on the landline - guess what. By the time we got the messages they had sorted out the "crisis" without him.

As a senior IT manager he was on call anyway but I drew the line when he was supposed to be on holiday after we once nearly missed a flight because he had to "just nip in to the office".

After a few hours and no husband I rang his line manager and told him to send my husband home so we could get to the airport. When he huffed and puffed I calmly said I understood they had problems but if we missed our flight I would of course have to invoice them for our costs........

My husband got home just as the taxi pulled up.........that was his wake up call. After the holiday he was much firmer with them and stopped being always at their beck and call. The joke is they took him more seriously after that, promoted him, pay rises and gave him a couple of assistants.

You know the old saying. They always flog a willing horse ;)

maman I think it's absolutely fantastic that you've kept the weight off for so long :T I can well imagine how delighted you must be - that saying about nothing tasting as good as being slim feels is probably very true!
miss rarrenjoy the pottering today and make the most of your me time:)
maddiemay glad your session helped - home made pate sounds good! Years ago I had a low fat pate recipe - I must dig it out as I quite fancy some now!
Good to "see you" lesson learned:) you've made up my mind to root our cross trainer out of the garage when our eldest goes back to Uni and put it in his room!
When he first went off last September I flatly refused my OH and youngest putting any exercise equipment in there, and kept it nice and spotless and airy for when he comes back.
However, since he's been home (and each time he's been home previously) he's turned the room into a pigsty!!! despite my constant nagging/polite requests to tidy up and stop living out of cases!
So he's clearly not into the minimalist look:rotfl: in which case there's no harm in me popping our keep fit stuff in there!
All the talk of pretty sheds has me yearning for a feminine retreat of my own - I feel decidedly outnumbered by my menfolk sometimes:D
Minimal make up today but at least I have made a bit of an effort - and perfume of course!

Hi again - just having a little break, currently painting the kitchen....I'm getting too old for this milarky.

MAman - I meant to say congratulations on staying so superslim. 4 years already.

Maddie - I was impressed with your pate recipe too. Sounds delicious.

Ellsbell - Im afraid both my sons Are still guilty of having pigsty bedrooms. I have tried and tried to get them to Mend their ways. Luckily they do at least confine the debris to their own rooms so I no longer comment.

Every so often I venture in DS2s room and tackle it. Thankfully my future DIL now does this with DS1s mess. I suppose in their defence they are both very busy what with work and then trying to do house renovations in their spare time, so both DIL and I are very tolerant.

Both my future DIL and I are both recent Kondo Konverts so actually it doesn't take too long to get their bedrooms ship shape again. But he's, it's your home and he is now mainly a "guest" so I'm sure he won't mind your exercise equipment. He might even use it too. I know ds2 will when I set mine up.

Right back to the paintbrush.......I'm not looking even remotely fab.:rotfl:

There's also the saying 'flogging a dead horse'. Work/life balance is essential.;)

Thanks for the kind words. And you're absolutely right about that feeling, it never goes away.:)

Although I popped out to the nearest small town for a little errand I ended up treating myself....again:o. Last week was the padded jacket, today 2 new pairs of jeans and a pair of lounge trousers. All TKMaxx. That place is a bit like the CS, you can be lucky sometimes. The jeans (one black, one blue) are both skinny, stretchy and felt great on. The lounge trousers are just black and loose and comfy. I took Marie Kondo to heart with loungewear and the only thing I had I didn't really like, trousers a bit too short so they'll be off to the CS instead.

Also called into the greengrocer. They always have good offers on Thursdays as they have to compete with the weekly market. I got a punnet of strawberries (50p), some runner beans (can't remember the price but I just love them) and 2 melons (2 Galia, 1 Canteloupe) for £1. So very mse and healthy. :money:would be proud of me if it wasn't for the clothes spending.:rotfl:
