I always send my post first class but only pay for second class.
Use two or three lower value stamps to make up the value of second class (53p for standard letter) and the mail will go first class almost every time. I assume the postal staff do not have time to add up the value of the stamps so just chuck it in with the first class.0 -
If you did that in our street, within 24 hours our Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator would be checking with all the residents if they had a house guest staying to whom it belonged and it not if would be reported to the police as a possibly stolen vehicle, especially if they were unable to make contact with the owner.Reason for edit? And then it would probably have a big notice stuck on the windscreen saying "Police Aware" which would be an invitation round here for all the local miscreants to remove the wheels or other accessories on the assumption it might shortly be moved away to a police parking pound.0 -
Crikey. So telling the police makes it MORE likely to attract criminal damage? Nice Neighbourhood Watch scheme you've got running there, that makes someone who's parked legally more likely to be a victim of a crime... Hope someone reports the local miscreants to the police as they watch them committing the crimes, at the very least.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

It would only have "police aware" if it was stolen. If it is taxed and insured they would not be interested. No Matter what you do there will be critics.0

When I go to the cinema, I walk past a Little Waitrose. Need I say more?0

I manage to make 3 mugs of tea from 1 teabag.
I add water to nearly empty shampoo & shower gel bottles, then give them a good shake, to get another wash out of them.
I also add a tablespoon of water into empty sauce jars to get the last bit of sauce out.
I top up liquid soaps with water to make them last longer.
I take home serviettes from cafes/restaurants instead of buying kitchen roll.
Re use plastic bags to line my bins & to clean out my chickens.
Use old calendars & magazines as wrapping paper, re use bubblewrap & tissue paper from received parcels to wrap presents.
Empty out hoover bags into bin so I can re use them.
Use my cashback credit cards to pay for my friends/partners shopping/petrol while they pay me back in cash.
Visit local supermarket in the evening to buy up reduced food, freeze the bread & rolls & anything that I buy but don't manage to eat before it goes off gets given to my chickens.
Freeze what's left of my homemade curries/soups/ bolognese/lasagne etc using washed out plastic containers from our local chinese takeaway.0 -

I pick up any dropped change of any amount and denomination and into my cookie jar it goes. I never walk past an abandoned supermarket trolley: several times in the last few months there's been a £1 coin in it (even better if I am actually going past the shop it belongs to (some folk are just too damn lazy to take it back and I am helping to keep my area tidy). Whilst picking up change I once I managed to accumulate about €11 in coins which I sold on ebay for £6, as for ebay, (I will sell anything made over £1k last year) and I never pay for packaging you'd be surprised how easy it is to re-use a used jiffy bag and Ikea is a great place for free boxes, string and wrapping paper. I was insured with aviva so I "left" via the front door and came "back" via the back door (aka using Topcashback) and shaved £150 off my premium plus £75 cashback. Never throw away a morrisons xmas saver voucher if you get offered one or find one and you already have that one I sold 7 of them on to people that had a week 1 mising, week 2 etc and made £21. Tyres for my car: buy new? Nah, part worns are half the price you'd be surprised how many 5+mm decent brand names are out there. getting pretty regular and an expert at getting 100 litres of diesel from Morrisons for about £20/£30 using their voucher scheme for "gift cards" and prepaid visa cards for online purchases and bills. My paper shredder is a great way to make packaging when I do sell on ebay, bubble wrap is alway reused, I went to Morrisons and got two very large turkey breast joints for 55p each they were originally over £6 (I suspect they were once one turkey crown but to sell off they were cut in half but my two very large dogs will eat well for a week thus saving on their food, and whilst I was there I got 5 packs of best sausages for £2 and 5 loaves of bread for 50p (went straight in my freezer) I can go on but that do for now lol0

Awed!
In some cases, bemused.
My judicious reuse of a teabag no longer looks as heretical.
Several notes being taken. Thank you!0
