Thanks again for your advice.
I'm reluctant to go that route at present as we're not in the best of health and also because The Mail are still responding
Their latest message (Josh Armstrong) said
"At the start of the offer, when you originally placed your order in October 2013, we were supplying the second-generation Kindle Fire HD. After this model was discontinued we switched to supplying the third-generation model.
The automated email you received offering an upgraded model was targeted specifically at those of our customers who had originally purchased the second-generation model; that is, the upgrade referred to in the email was the upgrade from the second-generation to the third-generation model".
I've replied
"The second generation was 16GB.
Your offer was for an upgrade to the 8GB, which means it was for the third generation
"Just pay £119.88 and we'll send you a newer version of the Kindle Fire HD 7" 8GB device we gave you last year."
I've not yet had a reply
That's storage capacity though which bears no resemblance to how fast your kindle will go. They say a faster newer one - they didn't say that you would be getting one with the same storage capacity.
to be honest you could've got a 16GB one from Amazon for £99 on black Friday so why you didn't I don't knowDont rock the boat

Thanks, but crossed lines here, see previous posts
1 The new one that I have been duped into buying is accepted as being the G3 Kindle, identical to the G3 in their previous offer. There has been no change in the speed of the two G3 Kindles.
2 They now say recent offer was only for previous G2 8GB customers but the ones they sent out were the G2 16GB anyway.
They're as good as confirming I have been sent this offer in error but still won't refund me.
Regarding your second point, there is no reason for me buying a third Kindle no matter how good or cheap it is until I get refunded for the recent one.0
